  • In this one I am assembling the setup and putting it to the test. FYI, no it is not ready to sell, neither are the helical gears. I don't have a date yet. I want to fully test this guy first and beat it. I expect it to be ready in March 2023 maybe.
    -We will have Vz-Hextrudort spare parts, helical gear sets, LOTS of Goliath with spare parts for worldwide, more Vz330 kits. 2023 things will flow better in terms of availability :)

      yeah its pretty good. Though amplitude is a little higher than before.. but I think its due to the fact that I had nozzle brace before, and now there is none. But its still super stiff and quite amazing on the IS

    How cool this thing is! I always though water cooling is good for only specific cases. And it's best example - shorter filament path, no moving parts for cooling on print head, temperature in chamber can be as high as anyone need - and nothing affects cooling quality.

    Zirconia through the entire melt zone is going to be a problem I think. Especially if using a tungsten carbide nozzle that mates to it. Those ceramics are not going to give at all and things may shatter when heated. Also, may I suggest checking out the libra mini gears? They have both sides helical so that the thrust in a configuration like yours is negated. Otherwise maybe consider thrust bearings for the gears.

    • @Vez3D
      @Vez3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      hehe I know about those dual helical gears.. since.. I worked on this with Mellow and I have one version of the Vz-Hextrudort that uses those gears. BUT its just way too expensive to make so we dont make them anymore. As for Zirconia, maybe I said it wrong, but I didnt mean all the way through the entire melt zone.. I meant all the way though the heatbreak. But after discussions with good engineers , the current design will last long even with several spools of CF abuse.. but it will eventually need to be replaced. But we will have replacement. And maybe have a full Ti one option

    What size nozzle are you using for your .24 layer height? 0.4? This is so awesome man. I’m too poor to afford a lot of these components so I’ve got my trusty V1 Ender 3 Pro that I’ve been upgrading piece by piece. Linear rails are the next major upgrade I want to do. I also really want to get a second printer so I can still print while it’s under construction.

    • @ballbous

      Why not dial in your ender 3 to be reliable then get a tronxy X5S and start slowly working towards a vzbot? You can definitely do it with little upfront investment, upgrade as you go is a lot more fun imo too.

    Is there a thrust washer for the helical gear set? There will be an axial load applied switching from spur to helical.

    • @Vez3D
      @Vez3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      there is none. and yes there is probably a axial load applied, but i dont think its significant enough to over come the filament+twirl grove force.

    • @Vez3D
      @Vez3D  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done some artifact test to see if it would cause issues with the axial load pushing gears forward.. but I didnt see any issue so far. Test continues.

    • @Andy-1094
      @Andy-1094 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great to hear. I was thinking it’s possible the filament might be taking up the axial load because of the grooved cup feature pushing the filament in. The transferred load axially should not be enough pressure applied to really harm anything anyway. I guess just watch out for any galling you see in your tests. Steel to aluminum will definitely do that over time.

  • @swfreeD

    you have to check the temperatures differently, a thermal camera does not measure the actual emissivity of highly reflective materials, what you probably measured there was most likely temperature of a nearby object getting reflected in the metal. thermal cameras are not accurately measuring materials which act like a polished mirror for infra red heat radiation. you can try that by standing in front of brushed stainless steel, for you its just a metal surface, but in the thermal cam image it looks like you stand in front of a mirror, you can see yourself, and you can even measure your body heat, but not the temperature of the metal itself.

      @@Vez3D edit: oh, you just mean shorter because of the heatsink removal. I was thinking the hot section had been shortened.

    В начале был хороший экструдер на водяном охлаждении. А потом обосрал всю идею добавив тяжелые дополнения! Что дополнение для боудена, что дополнение для горла. Переделывай!

      patents are expensive. You have to patent all individual countries and then some china state corp make it anyway and sell it on Aliexpress.
