Just put in the past couple hours downloading all of these packets and installing them into my collection. I gotta say, THIS was the upgrade we all deserved. The modders need to be commended for this, the game looks incredible, it sounds incredible, and the fact it's adding functions like a crouch walk is amazing. IGN, this is the kind of praise you need to look for, this was an amazing video!
Should make a mention that for analog controls on MGS1. you'd want SpoopyToots' controller layout. By default, steam translates the left stick into DPad, adding M2Fix will not change that. Go to controller layout, change the layout by clicking it's name, and go to community tab. Hit square or X, or Y for the pro controller to show all controller layout. SpoopyToots should be at the very bottom. If you try to add in the left stick functionality yourself, the corners will get very messy on most controllers. The layout in question is a modified adjustment meant to be one size fits all deal.
Konami is really acting like an estate instead of a developer on this. It’s just a dead, sterile re-release of old, vintage software with such a lack of care and optimization that it actually fails to reach the same level of performance that previous generation releases had.
Impressive that few dedicated people can fix games in a few days, while konami needs months/years to ruin. Konami is not that far away from EA on my scale of bad publishers.
Emulation is in a lot of ways better but MGS2/3 both have issues in emulators that do not have fixes. There will be cutscene slowdowns and crashes, audio sync problems no matter what device or system you are using. It’s basically picking what works for you right now. Personally I’m playing MGS2 with pcsx2 at the moment but there are a lot of problems. Will also agree that MGS1 and duckstation is excellent.
It’s ridiculous that MODS are necessary to make this collection a worthwhile purchase. This collection is such a let down and it’s wrong the community has to make these fixes and improvements for Konami.
nah they knew exactly what they were doing, no disrespect to hardworking devs but when these remasters/ rereleases are pushed the bigger ups know youll fork out 60 bucks because those nostalgia strings pull so damn hard...
That crouchwalk mod is a Godsend feature ripped from the 3DS version of MGS3. Hopefully someone can port over the over-the-shoulder and the slightly redesigned less fat 3D Snake face/head model from the 3DS.
I think the worst thing to pull from this is realizing Konami will phone in even their new projects in the coming years. Delta is bound to be a mess. They’ve been on Pachinko machines for years. Crucial years it could’ve used to get developer talent. But nope.
it does seem that the only reason they’re doing it is because of unreal’s megascans library that is bound to have a tonne of assets they could take advantage of for extremely cheap
I'm playing mgs 3 for the first time in my life and i was shocked you can't walk wile chrouching lol. I was frustated with the controlls at first but i really love this game.

Do they also fix the most important thing? the missing post processing effects from 2 and 3? The game looks damn sterile without those gorgeous cinematic effects. No release except for the original ps2, had the proper effects.
Hey Konami, are you still not learning from the franchise’s fans yet? Maybe you should look at Kojima productions to develop further games for you? Maybe there will be an improvement. Definitely to the quality and maybe to the relations to the its original creator
@@Janfey a lot less visual bugs, slow downs and etc. These game while flawed are atleast running natively on PC which even a potato PC can easily run. No pressure sensitive controller needed and as you can see with the use of a few mods (won't take more than a few minutes to install them) it's absolutely the definitve way to play these awsome games.

You can easily "fix"it with emulation and not give them money for such a shitty port. If achievements are your jam you can even get some them to work with retroarch. There's no ethical reason to give them money.

Stop acting like crouch-walking is missing from MGS3. Use the crouch walk mod if you want, but it wasn’t in the original and doesn’t need to be in the re-release to play properly. New gens are so coddled by over-the-shoulder aiming, just learn the game’s mechanics as they were intended to be played.
As someone who's been playing these games each time they officially came out since '98 Konami has been nothing short of an utter disappointment and disrespectful to every fan.

there's NOTHING to FIX with The Master Collection because Konami has said from the beginning that IT IS NOT A REMASTER COLLECION. Just ports from the HD Collection which did run at 720p
It was clearly shown in the video that the audio was definitely lower quality than the ps3 version so even if it was just a port, it was a bad port and needed fixes

How did you combine the mods? a lot of them seem to require replacing the d3d11.dll file which obviously isn’t going to somehow combine them
Never expected ign to post many mod videos since that might be an issue with publishers but glad to see them even for games I don't play.
Unless you're playing an online competitive game, most don't have a problem with them

The 3ds Version of the Game has crouch Walk and you can mod it on pc.

most reviewers reviewed it on ps5 which had the least problems despite the limitations with resolution and such
the mgsm2fix mod works currently but the cutscenes are messed up to the point where u dont know what is on the screen.

just run the game on the ps2 emulator(pcsx2) it still has all the extra content removed from more recent releases.

Just play Twin Snakes on the Dolphin Emulator with the HD textures pack. To me, it is the best way to play MGS1 on PC to date.
