This is the best video i have seen yet explaining the way the new tune acts over the first few weeks of ownership. I have done a few videos about it as well but this is going to be the video i recommend to anyone who asks me about it! I did some stock 0-60's when my truck was new and ran 5.7, then with about 1500 miles on the tune, 600 lbs of gear in and on the truck bed and 4000 ft more DA and 30 degrees hotter i ran a 5.6. It is colder now so i'm going to pull the entire bed rack, tonneau and all the gear in the back out and do some new runs and see if i can go sub 5.0s. Thanks for making such an awesome video explaining how this tune works.
It would completely throw the balance of the vehicle off making it nose dive over jumps and make it too front heavy in general. It's all about getting the power to weight ratio right for a Baja oriented vehicle.
This is how i'm going to do my pulls once i take my rack and tonneau cover off the bed and all the extra equipment out... i may even drop the spare tire out for the morning to try for a sub 5 second run
Intercooler should be everyone's first ecoboost upgrade, even if you are still on the stock tune. I bet a stock truck with an intercooler upgrade could outperform a tuned truck with the stock intercooler in a lot of situations.
That was apparent to me when he said "let's put in auto and maybe it will put in low on the low end" as if the transfer case would go from low to high in wot pull 😂
Put this on mine, makes a massive difference. I came from a 19 TRD pro tacoma, so even stock it was a stupid difference. But tuned, its genuinely fast. My 22 2.0L sport Accord would still walk it, but..... its 3k lbs lighter. 5 seconds to 60 is impressive for a truck thats 3 tons DRY w/o driver.
These are the numbers that the normal 3.5L Ecoboost makes in the F150 on 87 and 93 with the stock tune. But I guess that makes sense because the 3.5L is rated on 87 octane.
Ford Performance does not have anything for the 2020s, but SCT does have a tune which they advertise a gain of 94HP & 114 TQ. You can find it here -> www.steeda.com/sct-tuning-7015-sct-x4-power-truck-flash-programmer
Not the 2020, no. Ford Performance came out with a tune for the 2021+ F150 3.5L and the 2021+ Raptor. There are plenty of aftermarket tuners that could tune your raptor though.
Hate the exhaust note like my eb f150. Ranger raptor heavier than my 23 cc 4x4 f150 3.5eb than runs 3s with zfg tune. Wait for a real custom tune and cut a second off 0 to 60. 2.7 ranger probably isnt slower than 3.0 ranger raptor due to extra weight.
While these are fun, I don't see the point in these types of videos? It's not how trucks are meant to be used. I would think, if anything, from a rolling start you need the extra pop, but from a dead stop? Maaaayyybe if you're stuck in mud, I guess?
Too big and heavy an engine. Unless drag racing is your purpose, you'd just ruin the balance and off road performance of the truck by making it way too nose heavy.

Imagine how badass this would be with a 5.0 V8 in it.
You would probably wrecked it
Buy one and do it for humanity 😂
@@gunsandcommissions did some research they have did a coyote swap Ford ranger 4x4 in Australia

@mikebromelow8514 no it wouldn't be lmao you're not putting a diesel engine in there dude
Baja, 4H, Sport Suspension, traction control off, 1st gear, 4000 rpm, send it
same.

4A not 4H
@@skbid1 4a might actually be worse. it only will use 4wd after a lot of slip. at speed it wont even go into 2wd if youre hard on the throttle
Yeah, Baja lets it breathe.
Been waiting for you guys to acquire this vehicle!
Needs to be in sport, 4A, track and advance track off. Break boost till 5 psi and you will get in the 4s
I have an Azure Gray on order. Should have it this month. But I have to say I really like the Red Pepper Red, a unique take on the color red. Dang!
Fix that heat soak and better overall power with a bigger intercooler that’s immediately what I did after adding the procal to my Raptor Ranger
Intercooler should be everyone's first ecoboost upgrade, even if you are still on the stock tune.

My 2019 4Runner might be getting traded in for one of these.
These are 5300 lbs, not 3 tons. My 2014 steel body F150 Supercrew 6.5' bed Lariat was barely over 3 tons.
How did you get that cool dash screen at 10:25?
That is the screen in a 2024 Mustang in Drag Mode
I’ve seen a PB of 4.75 0-60 and a 13.21@101 so far with the tune.
Thanks for the amazing video. Would love to see a similar video on the f-150 3.5 with the ford tune
f150/raptors got the shaft on this. Its not even worth doing, its so bad.
15:44 The Ranger is doing good. Nothing wrong with it. Look at your DA. Its showing 1,579 feet and looks like you're in a humid environment.
I am interested in buying it for my Ranger Raptor made in Thailand, but wanted to make sure it is compatible with it.
You guys need to pressure the California fools to give the tune a CARB approval so we can enjoy the improved mileage as well as the performance.
Pretty amazing, wonder what it would put down on E85
I put on 2021 ranger with few extras and it's a beast.Mines not a raptor.If I could afford I just go 5.0
I did a 4.79 0-60 and a 13.14 1/4 mile in sport mode and 4A advancetrac off
Video or it didn't happen
Any improvement with mpg?
Sport, 4A, traction off, and launch mode which is full brake- full throttle. It will hold a rpm

WHere did you guys get the three led grill lights??
You had a heavy passenger on last three runs to mess the numbers off.
No manufacturer tests 0-60 with 2 people in the vehicle.
Do they have anything like this for a2020 f150 raptor?

That front end is lifting. Put a couple perch collars on the front to level it off from the start and im curious how it handles the initial launch.

Brake boosting isn’t good for the transmission. I know it’s controversial, but…
Is any full out throttle pulls and performance testing ever really “good” for the car?
RAV4 Prime will blow the RR out of the water 😂
U need to stall the converter, hold brake and gas
I stomp most mustangs all day long with my 2019 ranger XLT FX4 package

Or you just like accelerating from a stop light or traffic light. Thats where most truck owners spend their time.
My 2019 is faster then that with. Ford tuner Gibson exhaust mishimoto cold air intake and a pedal commander
Take easy with that hand grenade engine.
Ignores all warranty and recommendations for break in
Keeps your warranty, it's a Ford product, and breaking in cars is so Chevy of you.
@LongStroke351 even when it says 1k break in period. But yeah. Whatever right
It's over 1k on the odometer, no warranty voided on this day.
4 high on dry pavement. What could go wrong?
Absolutely nothing as long as you don't make any sharp turns. In a straight line, doing pulls it's not going to hurt anything.
Ford , put a coyote in them , they sound terrible

Obviously havent been around it, much less driven one. Absolute night and day the way it sounds in person vs camera
