      @@devilmonkey427 Current gen Ranger is a great truck and the last 2019-2023. The Aussies did hell of a job with that platform and continue to do so. Toyota is starting to take a back seat down under. That is huge when you realize that Toyota rules the Australian backroads.

    The EPA rating might have been based on the 87 octane, and 91 octane usually gets you better mileage. But even then, 21 highway for an offroad centric pickup truck WITH a sport tune, is extremely impressive.

    I have a Jan 2023 build (MY2022) Ranger Raptor here in Australia that I’ve owned since new. I’m over 36,000km on the odometer now (22,370mi), and the best economy I ever got was about a month ago on a 382km (237mi) drive from Townsville, QLD, to Mackay, QLD (so sea level - no downhill nonsense), was 9.53L/100km (24.68mpg).
    My average over the 36,000km of ownership though, has been 12.82L/100km (18.35mpg) though.
    Twice now I’ve driven within 3km (2mi) of 750km (466mi) from the 80L (21.13gal) tank.
    If you just need the vehicle to cruise; it can do it. If you want it to have fun; it can do that too.

    Not super surprising. In city traffic my Ranger Raptor and a used 2020 GT500 I picked up recently are within 2-3 MPG trip average if I'm driving like a normal person. Obviously the Mustang will really guzzle if it's driven-driven and the tank is hilariously small; but the Ranger isn't much better if it gets driven with some intent. • @superchargedpetrolhead
      @superchargedpetrolhead 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      emission is not just based on consumption, for basic CO2 it is somewhat right in thinking that less consumption = less emission but for everything else, there are so many variables which contribute to the overall emission...various things like engine temp, tuning, combustion timing, fuel type and the additives in it and so on can drastically vary the nox and pm emission... That engine is probably tuned in a way to reduce those particular type of emission in europe.

    So other than a bigger cup holder, what are you actually getting buying the F150 R versus the Ranger Raptor? I assume someone buying this kind of sport/offroader truck is not towing.

    15 isn’t terrible for supercharged v8 on 37s and a large vehicle.

    Wheres the snow.. Nice trucks.. Id like a King Ranch Tremor w the hi output 6.7 Diesels Roush pkg. The comfort of that Class is amazing. In the mil we had a H1 which was better off road mileage geared for terrain that would be the test up wolf mountain of something like Tommy over the road to the Black Hills?

    The sad part for me is, my 2008 ram 1500 4.7L V8 with 33 inch mud terrains has about the same MPG as that Raptor R, but with half the horsepower. ;(

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Even less than half, though admittedly 300ish horsepower is still pretty darn acceptable for a half ton pickup truck.

    Haven’t watch the video yet, but I’m not sure the real point.
    Anyone who buys this truck could care less about mpg, it’s not even a consideration
    This video is akin to a Prius video actually trying to get the worst possible gas mileage possible

    Not having an ECO mode does not make a difference, my Ranger 3.0V6 Diesel has an ECO mode that is worse on the highway than the Normal mode, in the city it will do just a tiny bit better on ECO.
