LOL! Quite a humorous video, Mr. French! Though please be careful when urinating out the door while the machine is moving.. I can imagine that as wide as your trailing equipment is, falling from that height, you'd have to be pretty quick to get out of the way.. Then there is the whole catching the tractor and getting back on the thing... If that happens and you survive, plz get it on video so we can see you chasing your tractor around the field! That would make great viewing!
Even though one might get stoned sometimes, it is very efficient and reduces cost a whole lot. we do have auto steer and all those fancy navigation things in denmark, but they are usually only fitted on the combines. Also it might be fun to do things the old fashion way sometimes, but really is great to have the computer take over, which also makes less errors for ex. if one had a farming student. Copied the video to facebook, hope u dont mind. send: 10 am. from Denmark. have a good day sir!
He needs to put Farming Simulator 2014 on a laptop. That way he can die of boredom using auto-steer on his tractor while he dies of boredom using auto-steer on his tractor. Yo dawg....
Funny!! Especially the last part of "we never saw him again".. You might look three counties over where it might have run out of gas... Great video, Very enjoyable.
Yes we are serious. BUT, we have now found out that there is someone in the world that can drive as accurately as GPS guidence, YOU CAN. You are the best driver in the world. Must make you feel good knowing that.
The old fashioned way is for those of you that can not understand how beneficial the auto steer systems are and how accurate they can be and the savings that go along with them. I run auto steer on almost every piece of field equipment and have paid for them the first year, with no overlaps. Sectional control on the sprayers and soon on our air drill. Waste money and resources without using it.
Cool video Merv,i work for Bob next door, some of their country would keep you on your toes, especially on nights.Might jump the fence at seeding time and come for a ride.
Thanks. Yeah come over one day, no problems. There's some ground on the western end keeps us alert and the hills up the back of the silo's are a test as well.
I can now see that after 20 years driving tractors you will be straighter and more efficient than a computer augmented satellite guidance system. I apologise - now I see mistake. I took you for an idiot but in fact you are a genius. You have turned your ability to get everything you say wrong into an artform. Pretty good for an old-timer.
Thanks for the comments everyone. It was a bit of a fun to do while we were seeding. i have some serious vid of harvest and seeding, I just have to find the time to edit it.
I know what this is all about. I farm in Alberta, Canada and have auto steer in both of my 4 wheel drive tractors here in Alberta. Sure takes the stress out of doing field work such as seeding, spraying, cultivating. No more sore neck, shoulder blade and eye strain and headaches. I always have my Sirius radio on and a case of beer in a cooler. Sometimes a bottle. I installed a DVD compatible radio with a built in screen so I can watch DVD's; usually porn and sometimes I masturbate. (Can you blame me, folks?) I keep a piss bottle in the cab too and smoke cigarettes. This is what farming is all about.
Is what people say which did drive for less then 10 years. I have the same opinion, but thats what I usually hear 🙄 over here it isnt a point tough. Here we have lands of 400 metres you know 😁
So true, auto steer is great but it can get boring, so accurate though when it works properly. wonder what the future holds when I see what's changed in my time (I am 68) one operator using several machines? who knows.
Love it. Has given me a few ideas to cure boredom created by the wonder of autosteer :) Have you found that as soon as you start doing something else in the cab that something goes wrong - eg. a flat tyre on implement? Or is it just me that has such problems lol :) ?
Here in Sweden flat tires and anything else in farming always breaks down on weekends or any holiday... In a farm group I am in on facebook I joked about that once. It was a week to christmas so I wrote "It is chrismas eve soon. Be prepared for broken equipment on that day and for a few days forward!"
That wase funny i can appreciate you're humor i think auto steer is a viable tool to save fule seed fertalizer and time especially on a long run thanks!
Oh my goodness! I always wondered what my farmer husband did out there in the field...now I know. That is so funny! What a good clip of what happens in the cab of the tractor. ROFL!
If only! I moan about my job but a farmer I would not want to be!! I'll stick to delivering the produce he produces to the stores so you don't go hungry ;)
Farming is a 24/7 job, where you NEVER get a day off, and is the most dangerous career in the UK (most fatalities). The hard work in all weathers, especially in the cold, dark, wet days of the winter is both stressful and exhausting (especially during lambing/ calving where you have to get up and go out several times during the night)
Ive done that once in the harvester, fucked up the harvest coz I pressed 2 buttons accidentally, shows dusting the controls is a bad idea when ur working out in the field.
FFS, all the fun ripped right out of tractor driving - tear out all that stupid electronic gubbins. Gimme a 60's or 70's model machine, just enough bits to do the job, and get on with it.
the crazy part is that the video is true i find that it is harder to run a tractor with autosteer than ist is to run one with out. its hard to stay awake
ha ha, the great aussie sense of humour. farmers over here in ireland are too miserable to have a laugh because of the crappy weather we have, thats why half of ireland have emigrated to australia!
I don't see why it isn't fully automated. It's nearly there, it's just a matter of time I guess, and I suppose if it malfunctions, you'll have a pretty big mess on your hands.
some say, if you listen in the night, you can still hear him out there planting...
Hahahahahahaha
sstroh08 lol
Peeing
My favorite toilet is gods toilet.
Also known as fields
this man has a wonderful sense of humor, love it !
I don't need to learn how to drive,I've been driving tractors for 40 yrs and this is the best thing that has happened.
I bumped the switch on the seeder monitor while I was playing with the camera and had to turn around and do some of the run again. :)
Awesome!
1:28-1:38 - That's what I often do when I get some time over in the cabin.
cleaning up the cab while waiting for the combine i guess many who care about their machine end up doing it

if only the tractor had wifi
No need if you have a good data plan.
Mr.Mister
me nope:(
how do you think the green star GPS works
Herbert Wilcox that doesn't use the WiFi (it uses a different kind of wireless signal)
Herbert Wilcox batteries

Cool video Merv,i work for Bob next door, some of their country would keep you on your toes, especially on nights.Might jump the fence at seeding time and come for a ride.
That was so funny! I'm writing training materials for tractor operators, doing some research, came across this LOL
AWESOME !!! Best video on the net. Thanks for making it.
Amazing my friend good job it seems you are some steeps ahead from the current IT.
If I were him...
Ty for sharing it
What funny is that I have done many of those things while in the tractor. Great video.
Thanks. Yeah come over one day, no problems. There's some ground on the western end keeps us alert and the hills up the back of the silo's are a test as well.

Funniest thing I’ve seen in years! Nearly peed my pants laughing out loud. Brilliant!!!!
Myślałem że pok koniec filmiku rozpali grila i zaprosi kumpli na piwko a on poszedł se spać. I tak dobrze że nie wjechał innym w pole. Nie zły jest :)

Hey man, don’t jack in the ‘Trac! You’ll make a mess😂😂
Hahahaha you did this well mate , good luck to you and your season there ,all the best from the big V :)))
His plots must be five miles long
auto steering is good in same conditions,to much will spoil the fun of driving a tractor
Yeah
my boss at the farm i work on told me the exact same thing, auto steer takes the fun out of actually operating the tractor.
Oggy Ren saves money though
Is what people say which did drive for less then 10 years. I have the same opinion, but thats what I usually hear 🙄 over here it isnt a point tough. Here we have lands of 400 metres you know 😁
1:50, Shake it more than 3 times your playing with it.

we love this video - thanks Merv

Need to installed a screen for movies that's one way to pass time. I put a tv antenna on mine to be able to watch the cricket during harvest.

Oh my goodness! I always wondered what my farmer husband did out there in the field...now I know. That is so funny! What a good clip of what happens in the cab of the tractor. ROFL!
Just Rural without him you wouldn’t have a diamond ring the size of a solar heating unit on your finger😝😂🤨
Awesome lol funny as hell! I’ve always heard how hard the farm life is an being a carpenter watching this video MAN I DONT KNOW HOW YOU DO IT
Well this could be a road to the future outing a telly in a tractor
More please.... :-) Loved it Classic sandgroper humour
the difficult life of a farmer...
If only! I moan about my job but a farmer I would not want to be!! I'll stick to delivering the produce he produces to the stores so you don't go hungry ;)

This is a great video Merv! Very funny and entertaining. You're a great actor!!

Superbe vidéo très marrante je suis curieux de savoir combien d'hectares vous travaillez merci pour cette vidéo

1:30 when he's dusting the equipment. lol
Ive done that once in the harvester, fucked up the harvest coz I pressed 2 buttons accidentally, shows dusting the controls is a bad idea when ur working out in the field.
Love this,im in Liverpool UK

That thing looks awesome!!
O the dozing off part is awful. Been there done that way to often.
FFS, all the fun ripped right out of tractor driving - tear out all that stupid electronic gubbins. Gimme a 60's or 70's model machine, just enough bits to do the job, and get on with it.

Thank you guys.
Realy very very good video. I love it
looks like he is having a good time lol
Just take the wife along.... those swiveling air ride seats work well for "other" things too lol
You need an I Pad to play Hayday every waking moment like my wife does
Good on ya Merv!
You don't know half the things that go on out there Mary Jo. :)
1:50 did he just pee?
Jbl_BassTest I do it occasionally lol
Takes the stress out of field work but what can you really do in a cab of a tractor all alone
Długie te pole =)
This is why talk about it amazing tractor

Very very funny Merv 😂
Its very funny! Its so good ☺😀😀😁
Classic video mate well done ! where abouts are ya ?
Surely he doesn't normally do all those things. But still really cool though. We got green star on our fendt tractors
Haha....very nice driving there---
the crazy part is that the video is true i find that it is harder to run a tractor with autosteer than ist is to run one with out. its hard to stay awake
Perfect, mate, would like to try our auto steering system?
Ja pierdole :D ale widać że specjalnie to robi :P
Dont sleep when you are at the end of field 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jasus i got the ball rolling with this video when i shared it aha ;)
ha ha, the great aussie sense of humour. farmers over here in ireland are too miserable to have a laugh because of the crappy weather we have, thats why half of ireland have emigrated to australia!
lol 1:50 aahahh
so true
2:19 my favorite^^
I don't see why it isn't fully automated. It's nearly there, it's just a matter of time I guess, and I suppose if it malfunctions, you'll have a pretty big mess on your hands.
ooh man that was soo funny, I wonder where he ended up at, or if he is still going lol
Love it Merv. Is this where Elon Musk got the idea for autonomous vehicles??😂
I did not see the machine steering itself. I saw the wheel stay in one position the whole time.
Liked the video, though.
Gen15 it steers through the hyd. steering block not a steering wheel motor. This way the steering wheel doesn't move.
Gen15 yes only old or cheap systems mount onto the steering wheel to steer
Auto steer does not steer it keeps the wheel straight in one direction
Not true.
It does steer as you can have a curved line
And my auto steer even turns at the ends
ha ha very good - no radio though?
this video was, is and will be amazing!
What type of farmer files his nails
It's just for show
One with autosteer apparently.
Ходят слухи, что он до сих пор едет
That's some size of field
Way to funny the sad part is I've done some of those exact stunts out of pure bordum.
Muito Bom gostei Parabéns. (Very Good Congratulations.)
