Pretty high tech now ! Toured the IH plant in the spring of 85. Didn’t realize it was a wake. They never recovered from the union strike that had lasted nearly two years with everyone else selling into a hot market. They had spent 600 million retooling for the 88 series, then the strike and the burden was to much. Now I I see computerized manufacturing taking the place of so many workers. Progress sometimes is painful.
If that wouldn't have happened IH would have dominated the market, the 88 series. ...forerunner to the magnum, the axial flow combine...it goes on and on they had the very best lineup out there.
Computerised machines don't go on strike, that's why. The workers at IH, whatever their grievances, really shot themselves in the foot, the Company eventually folding due to the financial situation in the early 80s. A real shame, as the next generation of 'Snoopy' tractors were about to come on stream, and were in many ways, a big improvement over the previous ranges, sporting the newly minted Tri Six gearbox. When Case rationalised the two ranges, their subsequent tractor ranges utilised a lot of IHs mechanical hardware, proving who had the best product all along.

NOT all CaseIH tractors are built in the US! As indeed partly explained in the text below the video. What it doesn’t explain is that many of the Steyr tractors are exported to the US but also that although UK gets Steyr built CaseIH tractors, the almost identical models for the US have been built at Basildon UK New Holland assembly plant. FPT/Iveco engines up to 6.7litres are sourced from Italy although it is possible that some budget models may either be partly or fully made in the former Eastern Block. Can’t remember which country.

All VEHICLES have the same wires in the harness. Imagine having 100+ wires that are 3 times bigger... that would be a huge harness and very hard to put in the tractor. Also hard to get it to turn and go in tight spaces. I have a repair shop NEW HOLLAND and I know what you are talking about. I have repaired harnesses that were damaged.

Не слишком ли большой вес трактора на треугольную гусеничную резину ? Не будет ли это приводить к частой поломке ( резина рваться).
