    When I went through a period of burnout as a newly qualified doctor, I decided I wanted to imprve my life and realised that the best way to do this was by changing my habits. Over the past few years, I've focused on adding healthy habits to my morning routine, daily routine and evening routine. These habits have helped me stay healthy, improve my confidence and helped me overoem people-pleasng, perfectionsim and procrastination. 30 habits that have improved my life.

    1. Overcome Procrastination: Ask your Future Ideal version - What will she do right now?
    2. Hype Girl playlist before work
    3. Go to bed with a clean kitchen
    4. Always carry water and snacks
    5. reading first thing in the morning
    6. Set days for SET WORKOUTS --- Remove Decision Fatigue
    7. Drink a Smoothie Everyday
    8. Learning to STOP WORRYING about what other people think of you
    9. Never Assume you will remember things -- JUST WRITE IT DOWN
    10. Set timers -- For cleaning: Quick clean, speedy clean, Clean as much as possible
    11. Notice things that are ENERGY Draining in your life -- Be Comfortable REMOVING THEM
    12. Write Everyday in a Joy Journal
    13. MAKE A COMMITMENT to do one thing Everyday that leads to bigger Goal -- HABIT TRACKING
    14. Practise Gratitude : EXPRESS GRATITUDE (I always tell this to my Coaching Clients)
    15. Nail Clipper - to NOT bite nails
    16. A glass of water as soon as you wake up
    17. Stretching 5-10 minutes every night
    18. PUT IT AWAY instead of putting it down
    19. Learning to self soothe and self-regulate ---- GET YOURSELF A SELF SOOTHE MENU
    20. Assume Everyone is doing their BEST (Even when they are frustrated -- Maybe they are having a bad day)
    21. GET OVER PEOPLE PLEASING -- Only deal with direct Communication --- STOP OVERTHINKING
    22. Always Take Care of your skin
    23. Use TIME BLOACKS
    24. Motivate myself to do something -- Tell myself I will Just do it for 5 minutes only
    25. HIGHEST PRIORITY: Friends, Family and relationship -- Text them about things going on in their Life --> Good Luck this that -- The Little things MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE
    26. Always have labels on containers facing the front
    27. Relationship: FULL ATTENTION when LISTEN to the person
    28. MORE TIME OUTSIDE IMPROVES YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, Physical health
    29. Making the time and Effort - To make your meal A LITTLE FANCY
    30. TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF YOUR TEETH

    Omg…. Totally agree with waking up to the clean kitchen every day! I’ve done this most of my adult life (not including baby-toddler time!). Yesterday is past - today is a new day!

    Love the idea about making a note about important dates/events that the people close to you have coming up and then following up with them. It’s so easy to forget things but I find that just the process of writing it down helps me to remember

    I have watched 100000s of videos similar to this (probably watched most of the videos on TH-cam related to this sort of topic) and I’m not sure why, but this is easily the best and most useful one I’ve seen.
    The actual tips provided are so tangible and well thought out. I’ve filled a page with notes and will refer back to them. Thank you!

    Great tips! Also loved how each one was filmed like when you just thought of it. Made the video more exciting and not like a lecture like other peoples self help videos can be like! ❤❤
    I’ve just set up a reminder to joy journal on my phone and have just noticed two random things today that brought me such joy but I will probably never remember, but thanks to this new joy journal I can look back on and bring that joy to light again 🤩

    Recently discovered your channel and so helpful.
    I'm not a doctor but work in residential home setting and find somedays when residents are down and staff stressed I try to go in positive and happy. It's hard some days

    Great video. Incredibly helpful tips. I’m not a HC professional, but an attorney with burnout. Also dealing with a mentally ill child and parent with dementia.

      Gosh, you have a lot on your plate. I think there are many similarities between our professions - high workload, high expectations, cognitive burden, people coming to us with problems etc.

    What an inspiring video Sarah. 😊 These are great tips, some of which I already do - even if I’m really tired or feeling ill, I always clean up my kitchen before I go to bed. A similar tip I have is to always leave your house in a state that you would wish to come home to. Particularly on your days off when you might be going out for the day somewhere. Get the chores done before you go out as nine times out of ten you won’t feel like doing them when you get home. I’ll be trying some of your other tips, thanks. ❤

      Exactly!! These were passed on to us from Vince's grandparents and apparently they always saved them for best... and never used them. So they were given to us on the condition that we would use them regularly 🥰

    I'm so happy to have found your channel today, I'm on a mission to reduce stress and enjoy life more and these are all excellent tips. One thing I've been doing is taking 2 minutes to make my bed every day. Even if everything else has gone a bit chaotic it feels like a kindness to myself to climb into a smooth bed at the end of the day rather than a big jumble of bed clothes.     2 weeks ago I created a "get ready box" containing make up, face moisturiser, body moisturiser, favourite perfume(I don't wait for a special occasion) and a box with all hair products!! I now know where everything is and don't need to go searching.
    I will be using some of your great ideas 😊
