@@SarahNichollslove the putting the suplementos in the smoothie. I have a breakfast smoothie always yet I don’t always finish all my vitamins Also I now blend all my spinash and freeze into ice cube trays and then use into the smoothies as I like
Taking 15 minutes at night to wash the dishes, tidy up, pack my bag, put stuff where it's ready to grab in the morning, packing a lunch, all those things make the morning so much smoother, and it's less chaotic than cramming it in when I'm in a rush. It also helps me stay on time more often! Loved this video, thanks for sharing!
This! Leaving dirty dishes at night (and sitting garbage) invites more dirtiness in the house anyways! This also reminds me of closing shifts vs opening shifts lol
1- I determine my priorities 2- If I have a very important exam, I turn off my phone and computer and take them out of my room. 3- I write down the tasks to be done during the day on paper and cross off each task as I complete it. 4- I listen to podcasts of successful people and try to apply their experiences in my life. 5- To spend my free time, even while waiting for the bus at the bus stop, I listen to English Podcasts (including your videos :) ) and my English has improved significantly in the last 2 years. These made my life easier and better, at least I was more successful in my school life.
Great video Sarah. Completely agree re having structure and also asking for help. For me a few things have massively improved my life: 1. Journalling. Figuring out what I want vs what are what I think I should want. Figuring out what are my own opinions and what are other people's 2. Building routines and structure with people to keep me accountable. Part of this is my accountability group in Fridays that I attend and another is my accountability group I've started on a Sunday. These are becoming bookmarks to my week and like you say take the decision making out of it. 3. Taking care of myself and not people pleasing. If that is saying no to social events that don't truly serve me or stopping drinking this year, I am trying to do things that put me first more. It makes me a better me, a better partner and doctor. Completely agree! Have a good week! Dan
@drdanbeese These are amazing! Figuring out what you want vs other people's opinions is HUGE. That's been a game changer for me too! And 100% agree with getting over people-pleasing and the accountability group!! Thank you 🙌💫
Very useful and novel tips! Thank you for sharing. I’d love to see a breakdown of the schedules you mentioned to help streamline my life too! Such as the daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule, Thursday beauty routine, your week of workouts (wing Wednesday!) etc., Thank you for the inspiration!
Great tips! I do need to write things down even more often to free up mental space. I do utilize alarms and reminders on my phone to not forget tasks during the week- that helps me!
Meal planning has been the biggest game changer for me. I have even gone so far as setting up a notion database where I save recipes and I drag the recipe to the day I plan on making it. Then I have easy access to the recipe and can quickly build the shopping list because I can see exactly what I’m making. Also, when I am running low on something I tell Alexa to add it to the shopping list so I don’t run out and accidentally miss adding it to the list. My second tip is to always leave a space better than when I found it. After I shower in the morning I give the sink a quick wipe down, I make the bed before I leave the bedroom and unpack the dishwasher before I leave the kitchen.
Also another thing that makes my life easier, that I learned from Rustic Honey on youtube, is to have a clipboard for everyone in your house including kids and clip all the things they need to do on that clipboard and for the adults also attach a complete it folder infront of those papers to put your bills in and action items. Rustic Honey has a video up with all her systems and some I never thought about doing.
Rather than having a “laundry day”, I do one load every single day. I put it in the washer when I wake up. I move it to the dryer before I leave for work. I fold it when I get home. I separate my laundry by: body clothes, clean towels (bathroom/kitchen towels), dirty towels (dog towels). We are always accumulating each type of laundry so by doing one load a day, none of the piles ever get too big. Most weeks I have one day where each pile is very small so I wash my bed sheets that day.
I use separate laundry bins for each kind of load - darks, lights, delicates etc. So I don't waste time sorting through them. When I see the laundry bin is full, everything goes in the washer. But i love those large nets you're using for the dog towels. Going to incorporate them, so that all the laundry can go in the machine in one fell swoop. Yay to avoiding spending time on tedious but necessary things!
I’ve just sat watching and listening to you and took your advice and sent a message to my family and wished them a wonderful day. They were so happy 😊 . I will keep in contact from now on. Thank you xx
Love this video!! I’m curious about where you keep your lists (right now/not right now, calendar of home tasks, etc.) like do you have a hub for all of your organization tools?
I do the exact same thing re. people's birthdays - both the calendar and the gift list things! I've never seen anyone else mention this :) Another helpful thing is to buy birthday / 'thinking of you' / anniversary cards whenever I see nice ones so I have a small stock to hand (and stamps). It's great to not have to go out to buy stuff like this.
Thank you, this was brilliant. I have things that make my life easier also, for instance, I spray my cleaning solution of white vinegar, baking soda and water (that I keep under my bathroom sink) every day in the morning after I am done. It takes me less than 5 minutes. This way, the weekly bathroom-cleaning is easier. Greetings from the Los Angeles, California.
Lots of great tips, one thing I do is to keep a few of the items that I have been using for years on hand so I don't have to go to the store to get another one when it runs out. For example, I have been using the same face wash for years and I buy 3 or 4 at a time so I don't have to worry about it for a long time. Cooking meals in batches and saving/freezing some for leftovers is another life hack.
Great video, thank you and now I have found you I have subscribed 😊. I’d love to know how and where you store your lists. I use notes on my phone but I forget about them…. Think I need a list of lists lol. I have recently started a weekly planner sheet that I have out on my breakfast table and include meals and habit tracker on it but I have paper dump lists, goals, lists not actually written yet scattered in different note books. I’m guessing I need to schedule in admin my life time xx
I love these tips. Meal planning helps a ton otherwise I don’t cook because I am at a loss of what to make. Please share a link for videos of how you do your meal planning🙏
Keeping hats, sun cream, sunglasses in basket under the console table before you leave the house and a small over the shoulder bag just in case you need to grab and go. Winter the suncream, sun hats and aun glasses are swapped witj hats, gloves and scarfs hehe.
Things that make my life easier is finding the areas of tension the things that make me feel stressed or overwhelmed and I remove them or find ways to improve those areas so its not a area of tension and stress. Also thinking outside the box really helps...so for example one time I was out bleach and floor cleaner so i used laundry detergent in water to clean my floor, when I was out of hand soap I mixed together dawn dish soap and a little water, ive used rice once or twice when I suddenly ran out of litter and I couldn't get to the store for a few days. Sometimes when you are struggling or stressing...thinking outside the box might temporarily solve a stresser.
I found the tips really helpful thanks for offering so much valuable advice in one video. Sharing with friends and my daughter ❤❤😊 I understand your a doctor would love a video on how to manage peri menapause symptoms and how to make life easier when you suffer symptoms such as Extreme fatigue. Thanks
I don’t fold things that will survive not being folded anymore… socks, undies, Jammies & loungewear no longer get my time. Also, I batch my laundry according to this system. So when it comes out the of the dryer, I don’t have to separate stuff or go back and forth from the closet hanging stuff to dressers. Game changer. I don’t remember which organization guru I got this from but so glad I tried it!!
hi, i just wanted to say, youre allowed to be a perfectionisit or the best version of yourself because you worked hard for it, and you deserve all the perks of life because of it, right Your advice and tips are genuine and so relatable, so thanks and have a great day.
That was great thank you. I love your enthusiasm. I’m happy to say I do possibly most of those things but it took me decades, yes I’m much older than you. The things that I would add is I do a 3 minute breathing space 3 times a day. I have an app on my phone that tells me it’s 9, 12, 3 and without any negotiation with myself, I stop and pause for those three minutes and contemplate. It’s very rewarding in so many ways highly recommended.🙏
Yes, loved this. Your right, so much of love this is not earth shattering....it's a matter of doing it! Loved the inspiration, and yes, atomic habits is such a good book! Thanks for the video!

That's a wonderful video Sarah. Thank you for the great tips! I see much of myself there, much of how my life looked like in the past. I'd literally jog to work too because I otherwise would have been late. A year later it was worse because I worked 3 jobs seven days a week while struggling with chronic illness. I didn't have time for the most normal things for myself. The only things I did for myself were a daily shower, brush teeth, wash face and then put make up on in a huge hurry in 10 min on the drive to work (someone else drove the car). The only beauty thing I did was to cut my nails and sometimes I didn't even have time for that. My life was work, heat up a frozen meal, eat in a hurry, sleep, shower and repeat. I think a lot of people can relate!
Oh gosh that's so stressful 😫 yes that was similar to what my life looked like! I had 3 jobs at one point too, I worked a 9-5, then some evenings worked in a bar and did one night shift a week as a healthcare assistant 🫠 it was hard graft! I know so many others live like that and it's not for the faint hearted. Even more difficult with a chronic illness to contend with! Hope you're doing well, thank you for watching 🫶✨️
@@SarahNicholls Hello Sarah! It definitely sounds like we've went through the same grind. It had good sides to it, too. Maybe you feel the same way. It felt good to successfully juggle university and the jobs. 💪I managed to get really good grades at uni while meeting lots of interesting people at the jobs. I wouldn't want to miss the experiences I made at the time. Only later when I suddenly became ill it changed. Had to take a few months break doing nothing which bugged me as I love having work, projects and hobbies in my life. After the break I was still ill but continued my old life anyway which was a daily struggle. Now that I've been back to my old health for a while, I try to take good care of myself. At least now I've got a good reason not to skimp on anything health or wellbeing related. 🌸✨ Also wanted to let you know that I'm glad I found your channel because you've got a unique perspective that's worth sharing!
Additional from my side: 1. Have specific laundry days 2. Loading the dishwasher twice a day if there is need 3. Keep a step count app to help with daily exercise 4. Have a daily to do list on my phone and check it every morning before starting the day 5. Do flower watering the day you take out the trash can 6. Keep a slippers basket at the main entrance for visitors
I love all your advice! I just ran across this video and I really enjoyed watching. I’m now subscribed and about to watch more. Thank you! Ps love your accent!

Do you mean when visiting people? If we are going to a party or staying at someone's house we always bring something with us. Usually chocolate or wine is plenty, or some flowers!
So the things you grab from that box that you want to shove in your hand bag do you put all those things in your make up bag before you put them in your purse or no? what things do you not put in your make up bag? obviously not the umbrella but what else
Good question! OK, to clarify: I have a box of stuff that I *might* regularly need to take out with me (umbrella, spare reusable carrier bags, sunscreen etc). I empty my handbag into that every day. I have a makeup bag with the absolute essentials in that I take with me in every handbag (I don't empty it into the handbag, I just take the whole thing). This contains hair ties, hand sanitisers, hand cream, tissues, gum/mints, lip balm. It helps me to stay organised and get out the house quickly!! Hope that makes sense.
I stick to a routine such as w/time management. At 8:30 I get my daughter up. Get dressed for the day. Take the dog out. Fix breakfast & eat. Play toys, do a little learning game, & spend time together. Nap time at 1:00 & wake up at 3:30. Go outside & play. Eat dinner by 5:00. Bath time at 6:30. 7:00 my daughter spends about 15 to 20 minutes with her Daddy & then she’s tucked into bed by 7:30. That’s my day when it’s just me & my daughter every day in a nutshell for a routine. I’m lucky that my husband gets off of work at 3:00 every day & I get help after nap time w/playing & cooking. During playtime, I usually clean up or make a phone call. It just keeps the household running smoothly & my daughter & even our dog knows what to expect every day. Nothing is perfect but I’ve raised 5 children, except my 5th bc she’s only 5. My oldest is 25 and I don’t know what I would do without a daily routine. Also, everyone has always had age appropriate chores to keep the house clean and organized. My biggest problem has been that I had my first 4 children between the ages of 21 to 29, but I had my 5th at 41. I have to entertain her a lot and I’ve gotten into the habit of letting myself go and not getting dressed and putting on makeup. It started during Covid and I just got into a really bad habit of not putting myself together. This something I definitely need to work on. I need to set a time to b dressed and ready every day like I use to when I was raising my oldest 4 children.
Your daily routine sounds like it keeps everything ship shape and well run! I love the organisation!! I'm from a family of 5 siblings too - my mum had my oldest brother at 24 and my youngest brother at 42, so there were big age gaps. It was a fun household to grow up in. I know what you mean about not getting yourself ready, it can be an easy habit to fall into. Thanks for watching 🫶✨️
for #8-9 how do you keep in contact with people who seem don't care. I don't want to lose contact with them, but it hurts when I try to reach out to them and I'm an option only. they give an "option energy." I just wanted to be updated/ be checked in on how they are doing, I considered them my best friends, and I cherish them so much, but it seems they're fine with their lives without me. They are the only person I trusted so much.
Oh this is so difficult, I'm really sorry to hear that 😔 it's really horrible when you feel like you're pulling all the weight in a relationship. It's important to keep reminding yourself that you can't control how they respond to you, you can only control what you do. Try to let go of expectations of how you think they 'should' respond to you. It's OK to raise it with them, and say that you feel a bit unsupported. But ultimately you can't change how they choose to act. It might be time to seek out some more circles of friends where you belong and its not an uphill battle. Sending you loads of good wishes, it's really hard!
This sounds a bit "out there" but once you get in the habit, game changer. I have lots of safety pins and when we take our socks off, pin together and throw in laundry basket. NO SORTING and no searching for a missing sock
Awesome tips. I am a late diagnosed woman with ADHD and I put a lot of things you’ve mentioned here to use in order to be high functioning. But the root cause is often the chaos in my brain. Was wondering if you also had ADHD?
I can definitely relate to chaos in the brain!! I'm not sure if I have ADHD, but I can relate to many of the symptoms, although probably in quite a minor way. How are you feeling about your diagnosis? Hope you're doing well!
1. Get more money by spending less! I had a shopping ban for things (exept for food and beverages) for a year. And after this I no longer long och even "see" stores anymore. Have a shopping freeze for things and change your mind and therefor also your financial situation!
@@SarahNicholls thanks for responding the reason why asked is because the advice that was given is for people with no children, family with children is whole new different world
@veronykacruz true, I can only speak from my experience as someone without children. I grew up in a household of 5 siblings so I know it can get chaotic!! Under my 'soft life' video there are plenty of parents sharing their experiences of making life easier with kids in case you wanted to check that out 💕
You can still incorporate these if you have children. Yes life is more chaotic with children but I do most of these and it makes my life so much easier and I have 3 young children, a full time job, two side businesses.

Yesss, so helpful!!
This! Leaving dirty dishes at night (and sitting garbage) invites more dirtiness in the house anyways! This also reminds me of closing shifts vs opening shifts lol
I really do love this.... but it sure does take me longer than 15 mins to do dishes, tidy up, lay things out and pack my lunch. 😢 🐢😅
My new motto, "looking fine by 9!"
It's so helpful for me otherwise I'd stay looking like a slob all day 😆
motto😊
Thank you! :)
I loved that tip and will aim to do this. Too often I’m in pajama mode until lunch time and it’s embarrassing when the postman comes. 😖
Yes! I love this!
1- I determine my priorities
2- If I have a very important exam, I turn off my phone and computer and take them out of my room.
LOVE these!! Thanks for sharing!
Great video Sarah. Completely agree re having structure and also asking for help. For me a few things have massively improved my life:
1. Journalling. Figuring out what I want vs what are what I think I should want. Figuring out what are my own opinions and what are other people's
Such as the daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule, Thursday beauty routine, your week of workouts (wing Wednesday!) etc.,
Thank you for the inspiration!
Oh yes!! I share them all in my Spring Clean Your Life Course: sarah-nicholls.mykajabi.com/offers/nCHX5V5f
I find the fly lady cleaning routine works well for me after i modified the days to fit my life.
It's so good 😍
Also another thing that makes my life easier, that I learned from Rustic Honey on youtube, is to have a clipboard for everyone in your house including kids and clip all the things they need to do on that clipboard and for the adults also attach a complete it folder infront of those papers to put your bills in and action items. Rustic Honey has a video up with all her systems and some I never thought about doing.
Oooo I like that idea! Thanks 😊
What a great idea! And I'll check out that youtube channel too - thanks!!
I love love this video!!! I like seeing the practical things people do to be more organized and relaxed. !! Good Job!
Thank you!! 😊
That's brilliant! Definitely helps to break it down and great that you're disciplined enough to fold it straight away too!
That's so lovely to hear ☺️ 💕
Love you hun. You are a star. What an beautiful video you have made. I am going to follow all your golden principals. Thanks so much🫶😘
That's so kind!! 🥹 thank you!
Love this video!! I’m curious about where you keep your lists (right now/not right now, calendar of home tasks, etc.) like do you have a hub for all of your organization tools?
Yesss!
Love it!! It makes life sooo much easier!
You're a delight to listen to! 😊
Thanks for listening 🫶🥰
Thank you, this was brilliant. I have things that make my life easier also, for instance, I spray my cleaning solution of white vinegar, baking soda and water (that I keep under my bathroom sink) every day in the morning after I am done. It takes me less than 5 minutes. This way, the weekly bathroom-cleaning is easier. Greetings from the Los Angeles, California.
Ooh what a great tip, I may have to start doing that too!! Thank you 💕
😂😂😂 just stumbled upon this channel and already addicted 😅❤
Yayyy I'm so happy you're here!
Delegating laundry to the husband ... Absolute game changer especially with three children 😂😂😂😂
Omg that is amazing
Lots of great tips, one thing I do is to keep a few of the items that I have been using for years on hand so I don't have to go to the store to get another one when it runs out. For example, I have been using the same face wash for years and I buy 3 or 4 at a time so I don't have to worry about it for a long time. Cooking meals in batches and saving/freezing some for leftovers is another life hack.
Such a good idea, thank you!!
Thanks for your tips, Dr Sarah. Nice to have some from a fellow Brit.
thank you SO MUCH for these insights, especially tip #20 lol -- that has always been so maddening for me. i'll have to try your solution
So glad it was helpful!!
Will do!!
I really love these tips...my favorite is doing a brain dump....since I started doing braindumping my life has become so much better 😊
That's amazing! It really helps to clear your head doesn't it?
Laundry stresses me out. So I try to do one small wash everyday. Or every 2 days if life gets very busy. Weekends feel more like weekends that way
Love that!!
Keeping hats, sun cream, sunglasses in basket under the console table before you leave the house and a small over the shoulder bag just in case you need to grab and go.
Winter the suncream, sun hats and aun glasses are swapped witj hats, gloves and scarfs hehe.
Love this!!
Yessss!! This is so underrated! I agree 100%
Thanks
Thank you! I'm so sorry you're struggling with perimenopause symptoms, it's something that's not spoken about enough for sure.
That is a game changer!! Think of all that saved time 🙌
Thanks for this. Could you link the disposable laundry bags you use to wash dogs stuff in please. Thank you
Your home is so lovely.
Thank you so much 💓 I feel very lucky to live here!
Loving your channel! I do a lot of these things and it's really validating to hear someone else enjoys them too!

You are so welcome! 🥰 thank you for being here!
Reading the 5 regrets of the dying now. Very moving book & a quick read.
hi, i just wanted to say, youre allowed to be a perfectionisit or the best version of yourself because you worked hard for it, and you deserve all the perks of life because of it, right Your advice and tips are genuine and so relatable, so thanks and have a great day.
Wow, thank you!
What a brilliant idea! I may have to try that. Thank you so much 💓
Yes, loved this. Your right, so much of love this is not earth shattering....it's a matter of doing it! Loved the inspiration, and yes, atomic habits is such a good book! Thanks for the video!
Thank you!!
Very practical helpful tips we can all adopt and integrate.
Glad you think so! 🥰
Omg this is the video I didn’t know I needed to watch.
Thank you ☺️
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks so much for sharing!! Feels like I'm walking around with a friend discussing different ideas on making life easier. Also your hand writing looks so much like my mom's! So I think I'll do what you said and reach out to her since I thought of her! 😍
Ahh that's so lovely!! Thank you 😊
- makeup bag in car
- GRUNS vitamin gummies, sugar-free
- hydration bag for my 4 tumblers (electrolytes, cold brew, protein shake, etc)
- convo during my commute: quick checkins w/ friend list
Brilliant thankyou
Also wanted to let you know that I'm glad I found your channel because you've got a unique perspective that's worth sharing!
Thanks for this vid, helped a lot! ❤
Glad it helped!
So useful. thankyou ❤
You're welcome 😊
Additional from my side:
1. Have specific laundry days
2. Loading the dishwasher twice a day if there is need
3. Keep a step count app to help with daily exercise
4. Have a daily to do list on my phone and check it every morning before starting the day
5. Do flower watering the day you take out the trash can
6. Keep a slippers basket at the main entrance for visitors
LOVE this!! Thank you
your laundry tips are epic!
Glad you like them!
I love all your advice! I just ran across this video and I really enjoyed watching. I’m now subscribed and about to watch more. Thank you! Ps love your accent!
Yay thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I have another video in this series coming out at the weekend 😊
What a great video with so many useful tips, Sarah! You also have very cheerful personality, enjoyable to watch ❤ if I would implement at least half of those tips especially organizational and clutter-free 😂 my hubby would be so happy 🤪 new subscriber from TX here. Thanks! Can’t wait for your next video
Wow, thank you for such a lovely comment!! Thank you 🫶✨️💕 I appreciate you being here and watching all the way from TX, very cool!
Lately I really enjoy to take "all in one" vitamins that way I make sure I don't spend to much time on preparing all the single ones.
Good idea!!
Found your channel recently. I love your content 😊
Yay! Thank you!
Yes. True. That process of earning money is what makes life busy and stressful. Otherwise we'd all be much more chill❤
Absolutely! Gosh, can you imagine what life would be like if we all didn't have to worry about that?!

Is it necessary to always bring gifts? Just asking im from the philippines and we usually bring gifts only for birthdays and xmas.
OK, to clarify:
I have a box of stuff that I *might* regularly need to take out with me (umbrella, spare reusable carrier bags, sunscreen etc).
I knew your personality reminded me of someone now I know who....this English actress Freema Agyeman ☺
What a lovely compliment 😊
We rescued a puppy & i save empty treat bags so i know what to buy next time. 😅
I enjoyed this bideo
*video!!
for #8-9 how do you keep in contact with people who seem don't care.
The thing about the stupid pads in sports bras!!!! Why don’t they just sew them in???? It is sooooooo annoying!
I KNOW!! Who designed them that way 🙈🫠
This sounds a bit "out there" but once you get in the habit, game changer. I have lots of safety pins and when we take our socks off, pin together and throw in laundry basket. NO SORTING and no searching for a missing sock
PS, I also love your motto- Looking fine by nine. A great reminder to get a reign on the morning before it gets away from you. Thanks!
Great idea. Thanks
That is so clever!!
Excellent 😮just wow 😳..... thank you ❤ a million times..... looking for socks always sent me into anxiety 😭
Nice video dr sarah 👍 and you so beautiful 😊
I'm cautious of fruits and veggies because of the oxylates.
That's understandable! We all have to eat a diet that makes us feel our best.
A robot hoover!
Game changer!!
1. Get more money by spending less! I had a shopping ban for things (exept for food and beverages) for a year. And after this I no longer long och even "see" stores anymore. Have a shopping freeze for things and change your mind and therefor also your financial situation!
Thanks for sharing!!
Just curious if you have children
I don't have children
Are you crazy or not crazy enough …🐣💭🦈
A question I ask myself daily 🤪
