  • Welcome to the first foray round Donington Park on the mighty 765RS chasing my mate on his GSXR1000R.
    I do miss mine for the outright straight line performance it offered but the 765RS really can hold its own on track and it’s so much fun being able to ride it that little bit harder.
    We had a good ride round together and were circulating well, shame the camera died at the end of the day as speeds were even higher.
    Grab a cuppa and sit for a couple laps round Donington Park GP Circuit.
    Thanks for watching!
    2023 765RS
    Rapid bike Evo Module (Autotune only in this video)
    Spark Headers
    MHP Exhaust
    Suspension set to Triumph track settings plus a bit more pre load for my weight.

      Thanks buddy, yours isn't so bad either! Different beast now though to the one I had after the upgrades you've done. Roll on next year for more fun!! Can't wait, especially now the RS has been tuned, which it wasn't at Donny.

    That was a Honda CB650R at the start there. CB1000R has single sided swing arm and massive side exhaust. Getting very jealous! Would love to take my Street Moto2 there!

      Thanks! Yeah, I actually realised that after I posted it! 😂 Oh well.. It's a Honda, they all mostly look the same anyway 😂😉.
      You should take it on if you can or certainly to a track local to you, it's a great circuit, does so well and not really outgunned that much by the bigger bikes but it's all about fun at the end of the day.
      As you know, it has that by the bucket load!
      Being a moto2 with the clip ons should make an improvement on track too, sadly I lost out on a moto2 so I'll just build one instead. I may or may not fit clip-ons to mine, see how the next few tracks days go.
      Enjoy yours and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 😁😎

      @@twistandgo3414 My Fiancee and I were lucky enough to grab one each! Admittedly I've done a fair few more miles on mine than she has on hers!
      We're based down in Cornwall so it's a bit of an upheaval to get anywhere! Shame really...we had a Yamaha experience day at Brands Hatch on R1/R6 and that was brilliant!
      Enjoy the bike dude!

      Well... This is a 98db drive by day. Bike is fitted with an MHP exhaust and spark headers, no baffle fitted and no issues. It sounds good but not too loud. It's quieter than my Akrapovic can with baffle fitted.

    Hey mate, I'm interested to know, if you've ever ridden a Daytona on track and how they compare? I'm pretty keen on this new RS, I rode one on the streets and I loved it but I don't want another street bike as I rarely ride on the road and have other bikes anyway. I have a Daytona track bike, love that too but I'm getting worn out from the cramped body position now I'm a bit older. It's a hard day on the track on the Daytona. I'm in Aus and it's hot on track. I'm tallish, 6'4. I'm presuming the more relaxed body position makes for a less tiring day? What's it like without a screen at speed?
    Thanks for the vid, very interesting for me.

      Hello buddy, well.. I had a Daytona 600 many moons ago when they first came out and I've ridden a 955i Daytona round track but as you'll know, they don't really compare to the 675 daytona, which I haven't ridden since a road test back in 2008 (I ended up buying the K8 Gsxr 750).
      Can also compare to the 2014 675R street triple I had (it's got much more get up and go than that had) and K8 Gsxr 750 that i used as a track bike and then my most recent Gsxr1000R.
      It's certainly easier, more comfortable and less tiring to ride all day than on a full on sports bike. By comparison, I felt fresh as a daisy compared to fighting (hanging on) to my Gsxr1000R which is what it felt like most of the time. Fantastic bike, but more suited to longer circuits really where it can really stretch it's legs.
      Generally speaking, the bike is easy and relaxed to ride on road or track. I'd like to squeeze a touch more power out of it as I know it's available (142 at the wheel can be had) but suspension for track use is still a little soft so will need a better rear shock before that and in time probably get a front cartridge kit, but done a fair bit to it this year already and it's also now been tuned so I'm just looking forward to next year again now and getting back on circuit with it.
      It's such a fun bike to ride that it's totally addictive.
      Hope that kind of helps...

      @twistandgo3414 yes thanks for the reply. Pretty sure I'll pull the trigger on one. My daytona fully tuned real world figures are 105hp on a Mainline dyno and 120 dynojet. (I tend to believe mainline) Not much will beat it in the corners but I'm familiar with that gixxer rear view on the straights. If 140 is truly possible without opening the engine it would truly be a giant killer in the right hands. Cheers, thanks for the vid.

    What’s your suspension settings for the track? Did you also use the stock tires as well?

    • @twistandgo3414
      @twistandgo3414  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Used the Triumph track settings plus a couple of clicks of pre load for my weight. Standard tyres to start with but at you'll see from the video, changed to continentals on this very day as the pirelli's started to fall apart. Continentals so far are still proving to be good! 😎👍😁. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

    • @gunmenow

      @@twistandgo3414 I’m planning to take my yellow bike to track day as well. There’s a suggestion settings from user manual on preload and dampening. Did you follow that advice or you just do your own research?

    • @twistandgo3414
      @twistandgo3414  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gunmenow yeah, literally used those settings plus a couple of clicks of preload for me.. That's it. It's not totally fool prof but the bike felt really good.
      Riding at a faster pace for a duration, the rear shock does start to get a spongy at the oil gets warm. The rear spring is a little soft for me though.

    • @gunmenow
      @gunmenow หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@twistandgo3414 interesting you mentioned rear shock oil getting hot, any method to cool it down or use different oil?

    • @twistandgo3414
      @twistandgo3414  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gunmenow better shock. It's apparently to do with the valve design internally for oil flow. I believe you can get it modified or just fit a better shock. They certainly look good, they're not of high end design or performance though. Hence why there are so many on ebay!

    Why ruin the look of the bike with that god awful fairing over the headlights?

    • @twistandgo3414
      @twistandgo3414  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean the headlight protectors? Or the fairing above the headlight?
      Headlights aren't cheap so the covers are there to protect the headlights from damage on track and are easily removable.
      If you mean the fairing above the headlights, I like the look of it, think it finishes off the look of the bike.
      To each their own though and thanks for watching.

      @@twistandgo3414 yeah man I have the same exact bike and color. Headlight protectors are totally cool, but they redesigned the look this year for a reason. “To each their own” sure, I’m all for freedom. I’m simply saying it ruins the look to have the fat fairing above the headlights
