The Girl on a Bike, Vanessa Ruck joins us for her first ever Track Day experience at Donington Park

More versed to the mud, Vanessa swaps her off-road gear for two-piece leathers on what was the hottest day of the year to tackle a very different type of track. Under the watchful eye of our own John McAvoy, Vanessa swings her leg over a Kawasaki 650 navigating one of the most exciting race circuits in the world. By her own admission she was totally out of her comfort zone, learning all the time via a few hints and tips along the way, yielding some surprising results.

I did my first ever track day at Broadford, Victoria. Australia. only a month ago on an '03 Aprilia Tuono RSV 1000 (track bike) had that much fun, immediately the next day I bought a written off '14 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC to convert to a track weapon.

My gf has the exact same suit and helmet, similar boots (inner instead of outer)... I first thought it was her in the video until I saw the green Kawa ;) correction: my gf has the one-piece suit, in the vid is the two-piece

After losing grip on my front wheel and sliding out, breaking several ribs and sustaining severe bruising, I will never only use the front brake on my bike, don't trust them!

Agreed,100%. Front brake only is complete bullshit. Personally I prefer the back brake all day long. Heavy front brake braking on a bike with clip on's is suicide. Each to there own.
