Hi, nice vid. Just wondering how long you kept this Suzuki and if you ever rode through the winter. I ride all year round and was considering buying one of these but I'm guessing the frame and swingarm are steel, yes? Did you have any corrosion issues?
Hello mate, had the bike just over 3 1/2 years. It did get ridden in all weathers. I treated inside the swing arm with ACF50 (or lanoguard) and anything that was likely to Get attacked by road grime. Always kept on top of it so didn’t have an issue with mine. I was quite particular about cleaning it over the winter months. Other than that, I didn’t have any issues with it at all and it always remained reliable. The one drawback to the bike in my eyes - could have done with an alloy subframe and swing arm, would have helped weight too. That said, it’s a Brilliant bike and if been looked after, wouldn’t have many concerns. Hope this helps and thanks for watching and commenting.
I got a 3rd massively modified (rc213v style) track focused and i'm considering a 5th gen to also turn into a cbr800rr ❤
Awesome!! I’ll be honest! I’ve been thinking about getting another one for track use, she hustles well for a big old girl and is deceptively quick! Looking to take it on track next year so no doubt there will be some content coming on that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Tried looking for Dean Bowley, re oil cooler hoses, on various VFR forums. Couldn’t find anything. Is he still producing hoses? How can I contact him (Nov ‘24)
Yeah, sadly it seems he’s no longer doing them now!?Honda VFR Owners Club UK on fb, there was a post on 21st July saying he’s no longer doing them!? But details on that of someone else doing them…
Sounds filthy 👍
Can you fit? Exhaust for 2022 in the new model 2023? Cause i bought one and i don’t want to spend 1200€ or buy colectors and buy also 2022 stock slip on
Yes, mine is a UK 2023 765RS (USA 2024) I have 2020/2022 model year Spark headers fitted with the same model year Akrapovic exhaust. Hope this helps. You will need a spacer for the link pipe mount on the foot peg though. I bought rubber spacers off eBay. There is a separate video on the channel covering this too. Thanks for watching.
@ thx i’ll watch it, could you give me the link of where to buy the spacers?

Hey man, I sent you a message on Instagram!!
Do you know the tank range on this zx6
I think ridden relatively sensibly it would be on par with most other 600’s and you’d achieve around 150 miles on a tank. Seems to be pretty frugal but I’d bet between around 120-150 miles. Sadly didn’t have the bike long enough to go through a full tank from brimmed to empty.
Complete tw*ts with a very short life expectancy....... and it'll be a cage driver that changes lane that gets the bad press.....there's a time and a place for riding fast, and this is neither of them ...
Thanks for this video, I've just bought these tyres for my ninja 636 and then all my mates said "oh you haven't bought them have you they'll throw you off in the wet" 🤦♂️, I'm only reasonably steady away anyway so this has eased my mind hearing from someone who's actually used them. Thank you.
That’s great! Just rode the zx6 and did a separate video that’s now on the channel of that, I really loved it! Yeah, they’re not the best “all round” tyre and Ifyou commute through winter there are better all round road tyres but if it’s high days and holidays and better weather riding (and getting caught in the rain) they’re good enough to not have to get off and push! 😂. Thanks watching and commenting!
Yep tw*ts
Ride like a twat, die like a twat. 🙄
Absolute Tw@ts. I have nothing more to say.
Bunch off ball bags on crouch rockets 😂
🤣 Yeah, basically. But Bike capability shouldn’t replace, eye, ear and brain! 😂
@twistandgo3414 we can all go fast i certainly have but agree thats plain stupid. Those are the drivers i pass when i see the flowers at the side of the road.
I ride too fast often, I know but that is ridiculous. Its frustrating because they are turning the average road user against bikes. The cooment about spotting a small vehicle travelling 50+ mph more than the speed limit is so true yet riders like this will post to chanels demonising the carvdriver in the event of an accident. I take my 765 rs to the track and recently bought a Ninja 300 as a track bike. What its taught me is riders like this arent acctually fast, just reckless. It takes no skill to tuck and twist. Get on a track boys and join a club like BMCRC.......big slice of humble pie for me when I met people who are actually fast. Rant over!
Yup! anyone can ride fast in a straight line. like yourself, with taking my 765RS on track, you realise it’s also not all about power either. Granted, I bet the group here probably aren’t even as quick as they think they are where they could actually do it legally and where it would be safer for everyone on track.
Yep, daft, unnecessary & dangerous. Also just adds fuel to the fire that bikers are obnoxious & irresponsible etc. If they keep riding like that, it's only a matter of time before someone changes lane on them & it's over.
Yeah, i totally agree. No plates on some of those bikes so the intention to ride like that was already there before they set out, (unless the bikes were stolen). One guy with pillion nearly went in to the back of another car. I’m used to riding at high speed on track days and think my observation skills are generally pretty good, but i didn’t see the last bike coming up the inside with the blue jumper, if i’d moved over a foot, it would have been a different outcome. Definitely puts other road users at risk, wrong time, wrong place and gives the rest of us a bad name. I don’t live near any motorways but not seen anyone ride like that in years.
@@twistandgo3414 Couldn't agree more. You can't blame car drivers, or anyone for that matter, for not seeing an object in their rear mirrors that has a frontal area of that size moving towards them at 120mph+. Crazy. Although natural selection will have it's way soon enough I imagine.
I’m going out on a limb here…. and pointing a tentative toe towards “tw*ts”. Seriously though, that could have been really bad if you had decided to return to LH lane. Undertaking…. leave it to the Undertakers.
Yeah we said the same at the time. You couldn’t quite catch the chat over the mic across the cardo’s before the edit, but @helmethead was behind me and made him jump too. None of us seen the blue jumper bike (Tuono or R1 maybe?) coming, certainly made me jump and i think im normally fairly observant. Wrong time and place, puts the rest of us in a bad light and could have wiped me out too. The worst part is if they had collided with a car especially with kiddies in the back Tw@s! The group chat we had after was interesting and colourful! 😂 just a shame i didn’t have the cardo chat set to record at the time.
One train of thought is "Let them get on with it." But my thoughts are these... When you f*** up, you may die and then it's all over, black out, not your problem anymore. BUT Police Officers, Paramedics & possibly firefighters have to scoop you off the tarmac. A Police Officer then has to deliver devastating news to your family, your nearest and dearest. You may leave parents without a child, children without a parent, siblings without a sibling... So many lives are destroyed. OR Best case scenario you get BANNED... and that's not just the best case scenario for you... it's best case scenario for everyone. NB - "you" refers to the tw*tbag maniacs not T&G.
I just installed very similar headers, GPR, on my tier 660, also mine are blowing .. extremely loud near the manifold. Were you able to seal your leaks?
Yeah, really wasn’t that bad, just loosened and retightened. Start with the middle header, top left then bottom right bolt. Then right hand header top then bottom right followed by the same pattern with the left header pipe. 6Nm I believe is the initial torque spec then go over again to 15Nm.
Had a wee smile when you said you hadn't refitted the heat shield because you liked the look of the lextec exhaust- I fitted mine in March and the shield is still sitting on the bench! I had to get a fitter at work adapt my bw link pipe to fit the headers. Was thinking of selling it to get a triumph scrambler, explore off the beaten track and all that, but I think I'm going to keep it and upgrade the suspension. Not maybe as fancy as maxton, but possibly Hyperpro. Do you really notice a big difference? Even Hyperpro is a significant investment (for me), I would be a bit pissed off if it didn't feel different.
Ah nice one! Yeah, every winter I see the heat shield in the garage and keep meaning to paint it but never do, maybe this year! you do notice the heat in the height of summer…. Not that it’s been an issue for us in Scotland this year! Summer was rubbish! Love my scrambler 400X it’s a brilliant little bike for the money, just completed an off road adventure trial with it and it was ace for what it is. Will be some content coming on that once I get round to editing it. Regarding the suspension, yes definitely an improvement. Night and day difference, thoroughly recommended. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 😎
Fuck its so ugly exhaust! 🙈🙈🙄🙄 Looks like a Kawasaki from the 90's !!!!🙈😂😂
Nice, what quick shifter do you have? And is it also an auto blipper?
Translogic quick shifter. It’s Up shift only as it doesn’t have a ride by wire throttle.
@@twistandgo3414 ty bro 😁
Weight, halogen lights, and mirrors are my only problems. Weight you will get used to
Hi there. I took a GSX-S750 for a test ride today and put a deposit on it. I noticed that even though it had the same Yoshimura slip on as yours it didn’t have a rough/choppy idle like your one does, even when it was cold. Do you know why that is? I really want it to be choppy and rough like yours and others that I’ve seen on TH-cam and I’m not sure why it wasn’t doing it
Ace!! They’re a brilliant bike! Mine had a decat system and power commander and after market air filter so possibly something to do with it. Unless yours has had the ecu flashed? Not sure to be honest, they generally have a slight off beat idle, think every Suzuki Gsxr or the like I’ve had, has. Could be a number of things but I wouldn’t worry, just ride and enjoy! And thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice roar there! These lextek headers are 4-2-1 if I'm not mistaken, close to original where the Delkevic have 4 into 1 pipes where you loose low end but gain top. I'm wondering if you have compared stock vs the lextek headers and noticed any perfomance difference? thanks!
Definitely more responsive. I’ve got a power commander 5 for it too, just needs tuning properly but think I’m going to change the end can first. Noticeable improvement in top end.m with the full system even without a tune. Thanks for watching.
howd you get the yellow on the tires?
It’s wheel rim tape. Bought from Moto vinyls. Thanks for watching.
Do you have power commander on your motorcycle? And if not, did you make any adjustments?
Yes, installed a power commander to the 750. There are other videos on the channel of that. Fitment and ride with a preloaded tune from dyno jet plus custom tuning. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
What’s the Facebook page withy the guys that’s race These, please?
Well… there is UK Race Support and think you’re also looking for Tony Scott Motorsport. They use a base street RS for tuning. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi. Watching your RS videos with great interest as we struggle to be able to get a custom tune for 23+ here in Australia I couldn’t find the video of the dyno after the full system install ?? Also wondering what software was used. Thanks!
Here’s the tuning video.. th-cam.com/video/LAzu8yJf8n4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nX7Gdp6gMNj0d4Ot I installed a rapidbike evo module and had it custom tuned on the dyno.
Hey Bud nice vid.!! the quick shifter is not working because its not selected - its turned off - I had my ZX6-r for 6 weeks now...same as yours and gotta say its one of the best bikes I have ridden..!!..
Yeah, activated at first service apparently! Thought I forgot to put it in but mentioned at 19:08. Even the dealership couldn’t understand why that is as every other manufacturer has it activated from the factory!
ZX-6R. Good Bike.
It certainly is! Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@twistandgo3414 😊
Just a bit of rain 🙂
Yeah! All in next episode but rained non stop all the way from Leicester to Stonehaven 😅
Nice review, thanks. I too have a Cosmic Yellow 765 RS but have had half an eye on one of these for a while for a fairing. One thing I would say about the 765 is that it is WINDY! You say wind blast at 140 is too much......I find it a killer over 80! I did 6 hours on the Triumph up the M25 and M11 the other month and it broke me 😂. Mind you I am old and fat. Ultimately I love my 765 though for sheer adrenaline on country roads and it's going nowhere. Peace.
Ah nice one! Yeah, I really don’t find the wind blast on this for a naked THAT bad but likewise, I’m also not using it up and down the motorway on a regular basis either! 😅 You’re right though, it’s a brilliant bike and really ticks all the boxes you could want, sometimes a touch more punch in a straight line would be good on track, but for the most part for what it’s used for, that would also Be wasted! Also Been thinking of fitting the factory heated grips and cruise control such is the potential longevity of this bike within the stable at the minute. Plenty more to come though and just completed another track day last week so that’s coming too. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I've got all the factory gizmos....grips are awesome 👌
@@marcuslawler8575 ah ok, that’s good to know thanks! I’m sure you’ll be aware, oem heated grips can be good or really bad and a waste of money!
This episode put a big smile on my face. Awesome dude 👍🍻
Thanks mate, lost some footage so it’s been a struggle trying to get the editing sorted! Think finally there now. Much love.
What are they like in the cold, Im currently on M9RR wich are really good in all weather and the cold but I only ride if its dry but somtimes in the cold. Been thinking about getting the sp v4
They’re ok. Prob not as good as the M9RR as they do need some heat in them to feel like They’re working. Not really a cold winter morning commuting tyre, put it that way. Not ridden the M9RR but did have M7RR on my 94R speed triple and they were brilliant in the wet and the dry. Hope that helps but sounds like you prob already have the tyre you need.. unless you go for Pilot Road 6’s which everyone seems to rave about wet or dry. Hope that helps.
Som motor igual 800 tiger
Yes, sounds very similar to the pre T plane crank engines.
Your Street Triple is such a perfect bike!! Can you maybe tell me where you got the exhaust hanger for the Akrapovic can? I also would like to remove my rear footpegs. Thank you very much!
Thanks! The exhaust hanger actually came from MHP Exhausts when I bought my MHP can. (For quieter track days). I then just spray painted it black. Thanks for watching.
bro that quickshifter sounds crazy, love the bike man
Thanks! Yeah, it really transformed the bike. Thanks for watching.
So how exactly the tuning works? Does it completely disable the real time auto tuning feature of the Rapidbike, or it finetunes mapping but still there is auto correction done in the background? Are Rapidbike tune shops harder to find thatn the classic Power commander? Trying to decide between the two for a 690 smcr.
Yeah, fuelling is manually adjusted in the rapidbike and saved with auto tune turned off. The bike is taken up through the rev range in increments and fuelling checked at each stage and adjusted to give the ideal Air / Fuel ratio throughout the whole range. Autotune did work and if you hadn’t anything to compare to would think it was working fine. Once on the dyno from memory, first run with auto tune was 123/125bhp, which isn’t bad but a few manual adjustments gained another 3bhp (not much really) but the bike feels much crisper and more responsive as a result. The problem in this case with the latest 765 is that you’re not getting 100% throttle throughout the entire rev range due to the tuning within the ecu of the butterflies, so lower down you’re possibly only getting 75% throttle even though its wide open until these can also be adjusted to suit by flashing the ecu. I went with the rapidbike as at the time it was the only tuning module available that had auto tune, so it suited me until I could get it set up correctly (better than not running a tune with a full exhaust system fitted). As for preference, I would go with whatever tuning shop was closer, I knew better or was more readily available. Performance wise I doubt there is much between Rapidbike or Power commander but I’m no expert and I’m sure one specialist tuner has their take on it based on their preference. Russ at UK Race support is an official Dynojet Tuner so that was his preference but they did the Rapidbike for me. Now having a power commander available, I would probably go down that route as that’s his speciality. Hope that helps.
I shouldn't have blinked.
Sweet
Hi any power gains ? for almost similar price i am getting GPR exhaust which have like 4hp and 5nm increase
Dot have any official figures to provide I’m afraid. The bike was definitely lighter for junking the standard exhaust assembly and would say it was crisper off the throttle and revved out quicker. I’d expect power gains to be roughly the same. Hope that helps.
@@twistandgo3414hiw to fix the leaks use an exhaust sealant ?
Yeah, I made up the exhaust with exhaust paste.
Sports touring rain modes on 750 dd ,
Yeah don’t really think it needed the riding modes. But like the Gsxr 600 and 750, I appreciate why manufacturers put it on there to use, but also it’s a bit pointless. In my opinion.

This has just popped into my youtube front page. So sorry for the late comment. I have exactly the same vfr only mines a 2000 fix model. Blue is the most striking colour after yellow. I bought it new and the next ride will see it past 50000 miles. I did 30000 in the first 6 years touring home and Europe. But since then its local rides with mates. It'll do both with little effort. It's been a great companion for 24 years and I'm glad I haven't fallen for something flashy and faster . But now nearing 70 I am finding the vfr getting heavier to manhandle about and thoughts have returned to getting a lighter bike, but I have found the vfr although a great bike with more than enough potential for modern times, this does not make it a fashionable bike which reflects on used values available to the seller. You may have paid £2500 for yours but I'm seeing £395 to £800 to px to any other bike which does not bear well for the future values of this impressive machine. While my bike is best described as well used it still brushes up nicely and has been garaged all its life. But I refuse to give away to a dealer so it will probably be given to one or other of my two biking son in laws to fight over it.
Excellent! Yeah, had a 2000 yellow fix myself back in 2000, also bought it new, but think I was a bit premature with a sports tourer 24 years ago 😂 now I’m just over 40 it suits me well.. kind of wished I’d kept mine before but hey, had plenty other bikes since and ironically a few other vfr’s along the way. Says it all really. After all these years and many other bikes, back on something I’ve already had previously! Totally agree, still as good as many other bikes regardless of its age and they’re ageing well, minus the resale values but are worth the investment in improving some of the components. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Hope you enjoy many more miles with your VFR for as long as you can manage the weight. My dad was the same and bought something cheaper, I can personally recommend the scrambler 400X, I love mine! Really don’t think I could part with this VFR now… although I do look at yellow ones from time to time… 😂👍😎
Hi thanks for the video answered some questions however I recently had a full Spark system would you recommend having a map as from the video it didn’t really state it was required
You don’t HAVE to get it mapped, but obviously to get it to run perfectly, it’s advised for the best it can be. The auto tune worked well with the rapidbike but it’s not 100% either so a custom tune on a dyno would Always be recommended to get it spot on. Hope that helps.
Keep the o2 sensors in even in after market headers don't want engine to run lean and hot pistons will melt like a snow cone in Phoenix 😢
Yeah, but they were bypassed with the power commander connected and partially tuned… doesn’t mean much when it’s obviously not been running right to begin with. Been fine since power commander been disconnected 😂 Ideally needs another trip back on the dyno and a proper custom tune, now it’s running better. I really don’t rate these pre-made fuel Maps though. Thanks for watching.
What a great ride out and good chat as well. What my Trident 660 is actually 1kg heavier? No wonder the 765RS is so fast. Its certainly on my short list for an upgrade next year along with the Honda CB1000R. Plenty of time to decide and see what comes along in the meantime. The roads look considerably quieter north of the boarder, great for long fast runs.
