They are the best. Just check you'd output to battery charging with a multi mtr these bikes r and r are problematic. Buy everything else is good . Great machines
I own the same model, same age and same colour version as yours. I love it and deliberately sought this model. Unfortunately I AM an old fart and occasionally scare myself whilst employing all that performance. Thankfully the impeccable, almost subliminal handling take us, (the bike & me), through so smoothly I wonder why I was concerned. My favourite bike ever.
I'm on my second fifth gen RC46. Want to hear about a bargain. When I got it, it just a a £650 service. It came with full luggage, stainless steel down pipes. Leather tank cover and tank bag. He threw in a new rectifier. And the mirrors had been changed. And for all this it cost me...... Wait for it lol a grand. It had fifty thousand on the clock and it has always been sirviced by the last owners local garage. I love the vfr800 fi.
I took the plunge and carefully fitted the latest stainless steel headers. What a transformation! It's so much lighter and shorter wheelbase than the other stylish generations either side now! The sound is something I crave. The improvement in mpg helps. A great VT on the much underrated 5th Generation VFR. Cheers
I was panicking about the replacement running out of stock. I have been enjoying the latest stainless steel headers from black widow. Super light weight . I would possibly not screw the stainless steel header bolts all the way home next time x8, so I have the threads to fit some new copper washers and dome headed stainless nuts, mine were labeled for v twin susuki sv 650. I also cut off one old mild steel header on the rear of my 5th generation to get rid. It took me days to switch. And found it was nosy for a thousand miles. Maybe 🤔 it was simply just this whole exhaust system that put people off the 5th generation VFR afterall. Cheers
Nice video, lovely scenery, looking at vfr 99 anniversary model, bit expensive, but I'd be keeping it for a long time, have a few others but vfr would be a nice addition, greetings from Ireland.
I ride a 2001 VFR changed to 520 conversion chain 2 up rear sprocket. big torque difference. Also Givi windscreen with x-tra on top. Put on ABM straight bars. I'm 65 from Idaho. Ride just about every day. Beautiful highways here where I can really cruise.
I've always liked these but think I need to view one to try it out as me only being 5ft 5" a lot of bikes are just to damn tall for me lol, I agree with it being in yellow though looks awesome.
@@goingwildagain feeling a little intimidated right now, as I'm going up from a sporty 125 and the VFR is over 80 miles away with new tyres 😬 Any advice?
Picked up a black 99 last week, absolutely incredible machine.

They are truly great bikes
with 520 the torque is the same as the engine is the same...you have only more acceleration and rpm at cruising speed is higher

I'm 5 10 and it's a wide seat which gives less flat foot on the ground awesome bike though
Im picking up a red 5th gen on monday :😀
