hey man. so i got the same kit for my 2018 3500. what type of tunes comes with the kit. as far who makes them. thanks
@darkirondiesel do you have a link for the shibby kit that you would recommend?
Love how you explain everything as if you were one of the boys and don’t use big mechanic lingo just straight forward zero confusion. A+ content
Thanks man! That’s what I try for.
Awesome, Thank you very much! You are the best! I will try option 2 and I will give an up date later on.
@@darkirondiesel I got the ez link and can’t keep constant transmission pressure. Can you give some advice
Just in time for the holidays! Great work with getting the camera and lighting to see all the tough spots!
Your instructions are excellent, step by step. Really appreciate it.
great video @DID
Appreciate your knowledge, thanks for helping me watch/learn what needs to be done.. waiting on my 23’ Ram to arrive
Super sweet install! Keep up the awesome work! Sounds really good with the 5 inch exhaust!⚡👍
thank you!
Let's see a 20+ L5P duramax video. I've been waiting to do mine and there are very few detailed videos.
Love the content! 👏🤙
I just want to Thank you for your videos. I deleted my Titan XD off the video you did. Saved me thousands. I really appreciate it!
Glad I could help!
Depends on what liberal State you are in.
Awesome video and a wicked cool black 5th-Gen so pleased to know these kits are available for the newer Rams 🤘🏻🤘🏻🏁🏁
Glad to see you back to preaching the truth!! For a while I thought you were kinda not against emissions which clearly do suck.
Love your vids bro you have helped me with your videos in the past!!
Great video, the way you talk normal and show everything really simplifies for people tackling this on their own. I have a 2020 L5p id like to do at some point and a video of you doing one would be awsome
Thank you. I will be making a video on the L5P in the future, I will try to make the video as simple and easy to follow as possible but I’m definitely not as comfortable with L5Ps as I am Cummins engines.
Looking forward to it
@darkirondiesel
The written instructions for the race pipe suggest some tac welds between the sections that are clamped? any thoughts on whether or not that is necessary ? if so how much of a tac or bead and how many would you need in those slip connections
Thank you so much for the video. The 5 position switch should I hear any difference in engine sound. How I know if I do have more than 1 tune?
Awesome info and straight to the point thanks
Thanks so much! I got the same Diesel Dudes kit 2020 Cummings and didnt know where to start!
Glad I could help!
Great video. TY. I have a few questions. I have seen where the transmission has to be retrained over like 200 miles. Is this still the case? What kind of weight difference do you estimate from old to updated parts? What would it take to reverse this process?
Hey bud thanks for the video. The 5th gens are slightly different from the previous gens so this was helpful. at 25:40, what is the purpose of removing that sensor plug under the throttle valve?
Great Video, nailed all the details!!! Keep it up!
Thanks bud 👊🏻
@darkirondiesel
Is there a parameter on the ez lynk app that actually confirms which power level you selected with the SOTF or to know for sure your sotf is working besides feeling it?
Thank you so much for this information! 👍👍
Hey Dark Iron… Can you please make a video about which truck is best after deleting it between the Cummins, the 6.6L Duramax and the Powerstroke for both performance and reliability. (Without being biased)
Plan to do this after holidays. My 1st diesel truck.
Hopeful I can do it alone with no issues. The exhaust part seems simple. No emissions laws in my state.
I have 2021, so I have cp3, thankfully.
Was he correct on the plugs on exhaust when you did yours? Seems like all years are different. I have a 21 as well and doing it this week. Just seeing how accurate this was to yours. Thanks
Fingers crossed they start tuning the 22 to 24 trucks. Nice videos.
Thank you. And ya so far it’s still an ecm swap for the 2022+ trucks. Hopefully they find a way around it.
gotta swap ECM's. I did my 22' a few days ago with a 2021 ECM. hardest part about the entire thing was finding a donor ecm
Just bought a brand new 23 without knowing it was a pain in the a$$ to delete, I’m so pissed
@@dj6303they sell them on tuner depot or the diesel guys it’s like 4k but yeah 😂
ill trade you my deleted 2022 for your stock 2023 haha@@jbeatsmusic3
Love the video keep up the great work I wanna get my kit ASAP
Do it man, they are having a cyber Monday sale tomorrow!
You should do a video with a 5th gen and EFI Live.
This is Fred with the EPA... keep up the good work!
If leaving the egr cooler on, would you have to use any of the hardware provided or just the exhaust and sensors? Thank you.
Excellent video. I’d be interested in a 1st Gen L5P video!
I’m working on getting one in the shop!
the level of detail in this Video 🫡 thank you sir for the commitment
What ECU profile or tune do you like the most for this truck?
Great video! Subscribed. Looking at doing my 2020 l5p duramax. A video would be great!
Lots of guys asking for the L5P, I will do my best to get a video of one
Thanks for the awesome video. Super simple to follow along. I have a question.. Do you recommend deleting the throttle valve as well? I’ve noticed in your videos that you just unplug it and leave it in place. I’ve heard it could possibly get stuck closed and cause problems. Thanks again man.
Hey if you unplug it you shouldn’t have any problems. If you want to remove it that’s 100% personal preference.
Love the video, the tune that comes with this kit, would it allow me to be able to pass emissions?
No this is for a emissions off system. But there might be emissions on tuning in one of those folders, I never checked but you could always ask them
Just deleted my 5th gen with the help of your videos! I wish I would’ve went with ezlink. I went with a mm3 tuner and am having some issues tuning it with it having a cp3 conversion hopefully they can figure something out on it tomorrow.
Who did the tuning? They should be able to figure it out!
@@darkirondiesel gdp tuning. They told me to contact mm3 and they will send me a recovery file.
So do have to do anything with the DEF? Just drain tank?
Just ordered my kit from Diesel Dudes for my 21 Ram . Got my Auto Agent 3 in yesterday. Waiting on my 5" turbo back and egr plates.
You get everything in and installed? Wonder how everything went
I haven't had a day off without my kids yet to do it... Everything I've read is it takes quite almost a day to do yourself. Everythings sitting in the shop at my house just waiting@@CS_Concepts.
Thx i like how u explain with detail thx
do I own a 6.7 nope.... but if I ever do at least I now know how to delete one 😂 Sweet Video
When setting the battery charger, can you have it at 15amps? My charger doesn’t have a 10 amp setting and I don’t want to blow anything if that’s too much amperage.
Good stuff clean install too
Kyle, great content as always 👍 love your little helper🐶 22 L5P Please
So many people are asking for an L5P video! I’ll see if I can make it happen!
hey man how good are these tunes? plan on deleting my 3500 but kinda iffy on the tunes
What’s the bypass cable for ??? I I ezlynk for my powerstroke 2017 and didn’t need one ???
Figured you had to be in Canada. Nice. Guy in California got caught and fined 10k. Company in Utah got fined 850k. EPA is cracking down in the US, doesn't matter if it's on-road or off-road.
You should of shown how much of a pain it is to put the new rubber hose over the nipple with the o-ring on it on the head.... and we all have a problem with the o-ring that you changed, it is very hard also, which causes you to cut it when pressing it in. Over all great video!
I think I would clean it up some more so it doesn’t look like you took stuff off like a new exhaust manifold and new intake on it with out block off plates .
If I already have a tune and I want to put an auto agent do I have to remove the old tune or can I just install the new one?
A couple tips to make it even easier. On the def injector don’t pull the retaining clip out push it in with a flat head screw driver or something sometimes there a little tough but once it’s pushed it it’ll pop right off and to get the very front piece out you can just unbolt the hangers 2 13 mm bolts make life so much easier
Good tip for the def injector! And for the front piece that’s exactly what I do too.
I do have a question I’m debating on whether or not deleting my 23 but from what I understand most of the parts are not available as of yet ? correct ? If the decision is to delete, all repairs, moving forward, are on my wallet, correct..
Love the video
Does anyone know where to find delete kit for a 2014 Mercedes Benz bluetec ml 350?
Also how could I get fresh tunes for my MM3 old dusty gen 4? Feels like hard shifts in my 100hp tune… might need new 68rfe tranny tunes??
Thanks!
With the SOFT switch can I turn it while the engine is running? Or do I need to turn it off and adjust
Thanks!
After doing the EZ Lynk tune and testing of starting the truck is complete, is it possible to delay the actual removal of the factory exhaust be delayed a day or so? To allow use of the truck until a weekend for time to remove the exhaust. If a problem for sensors only, can the plugs be disconnected and the EGR/Exhaust CAT/DPF be remove later? (just a day or two later to allow some driving like to work until more time to do the full removal and replace of new pipes (w/o CAT/DPF).
Yes you can tune the truck then drive it for a day or two before you remove the exhaust but I don’t recommend driving more then 200 miles like that
9:31 how can you unlock the red inside tab? I pushed it in and it didn’t hold the 3 wires so im trying to pop it back out
🇨🇦 bringing then heat
I am looking at this exact kit. Do you have to find and pay for tunes separately after you purchase this equipment from diesel dudes or do you select the details during checkout and it comes ready to select?
Nope, this kit comes with the link to the tunes. Just plug in the auto agent and select “lynk with gdp tuning” and boom you got the tunes. If you can, order through the link in the description it will help me out a lot!
With all the Banks upgrades on my RAM I know I’ve increased its value. I tow. But if you delete, you can be sure it will be harder to sell your truck. No average family owner that tows would buy a deleted truck, but they will definitely buy mine.
That’s why I tell guys to keep their factory parts. Could put your truck back to stock in a day if you needed to.
Hello. Nice video. Do you think the kit would work on a 2016 ram 2500?
Here is the link for the 2013-2018 ram kit. The install will be very similar as well. shrsl.com/49ixn
@Dark Iron Diesel did you get that bypass cable in your kit or did you order a separate one?
It comes with the kit I linked in description!
Great job 👍
Thanks 👍
Dude you explain shit really good! Nice video
Thanks buddy!
Did you unplug the throttle valve for this as well? As I stated in the last video, I’m running EFI live and not EZ link but I am trying to make sure that if I have to unplug it I do so. Thank you
Yes in my experience you always unplug the throttle valve.
Good day .... since i have a 2019 ram 3500 dually with the high output 6.7 with the Aisun trans & 410 gears. Would i need to change my gearing or is there anything in the tuner to change the transmission tuning to where it would run more economical ? My deleted 2018 2500 diesel i averaged 28-36mpg and i had my foot in it on the skinny pedal all the time city or hwy. granted it didn't have the 410 gearing and it wasn't a dually. I paid a shop to delete my 2018 so thats why i am asking these questions and refuse to pay them $ 5,300 compared to $ 3,150 to do the same delete kit on my 2019.
Hey unfortunately with the HO and 411 gears (which is what I have in my 2022) the fuel milage won’t be quite as good as a 2500 model with the lower gear ratios. But you don’t have to do anything different tuning wise, just make sure they know you have the Aisin. You will still see a fuel milage increase but more importantly you will gain the reliability and relief knowing you’re not suffocating your engine anymore. Also no more def is always nice.
Happy Holiday!!! Please fo more video for L5p haha
I’ll try to get a kit for an L5P for a video!
Dude was the white stuff in the exhaust at 13:56 crystallized DEF???
This video has all the info i needed to delete my truck a week ago lol, i spent days doing research before i did my delete.
haha of course, that sucks. At least you can make sure you did it right
I have a Question.... if you use the ccv filter plug to the ECU now, what will regulate your ccv sensor? Or just send it 😂😂 ?
Are there any issues wiith 5" exhaust installation for Ram 2020 3500 with factory air bags? I read somewhere on another site about 5" having issues with air bags on Ram.
It’s very tight but I’ve always been able to make it fit
Love your channel and thank you for posting it. May I ask, I'm not familiar with these GDP tuning files and sure not how they work. Please help to explain the functionality of the following tunes.
1. Ram 13-17 6.7 PK 68RFE, No Em. 0HP W/TCP-170 V2.4= does it delete ERG&DPF?
2. Ram 13-17 6.7 PK 68RFE, W/Em. Soft W/TCM V1.6. = does it delete ERG&DPF?
3. Ram 16-17 6.7 PK 68RFE, OEM Flash 32370731AE= Does it restore factory stock?
I need tuning file that improves performance and does not want to delete EGR and DPF.
1. “No em” stands for no emissions, so that would be if you wanted to delete the egr/dpf/def
2. “W/em” that should stand for with emissions so that should be good to run if you’re keeping your stock emission system on the truck. It’s also a SOTF (switch on the fly) file so you’ll need to install the switch for different power levels.
3. That should just be a stock file just like the dealer would have had it programmed. Stock power, stock emissions, etc.
If it’s ez lynk you should be able to tap on each file and it should give you a more detailed version there.
Thanks for helping. There is emission recall in 2024. State of California, USA require to complete the recall in order to allow registration or renew registration.
I wonder the truck still be able to install custom tunes after completed this recall. Does anyone know?
Should I also add Throttle Valve Delete to my order? Is is needed / helpful ?
Also, I don't really want loud. What do you know about the 5" with muffler or 4" with muffler kit vs your 5" no muffler installation? Suggestion? I'm leaning toward 5" with muffler.
Throttle valve delete isn’t necessary but it does clean up the engine bay a bit so I definitely recommend it. As for exhaust, as long as you get a muffler with your kit you should be fine.
@@darkirondiesel Thanks. Placed order for 5" w/ muffler and added the throttle valve delete. I clicked on your link so you should get credit for the sale. Do you have a video for throttle valve delete? I'll search shortly.
No I don’t but it’s extremely easy
Same Process for a turbo back exhaust right? Just gotta take the exhaust piece that connects to the turbo
Yup
Any recommendations on a egt sensor and gauge setup?
3 in 1 glowshift gauge
So is the count for unplug on EGR 5 cables? Went so fast I was not 100% certain. 1 on the left side, 1 by following the cable on the right front side, and ALL 3 around the intake / throttle area? After Tune, I seem to be getting Codes P0107 & P007D so not certain I'm disconnecting the right ones or if unplugging too many with EGR. Also note I haven't tackled the exhaust delete yet or connectors; that's coming tomorrow when exhaust pipes arrive. (another code popped up too: P2495 so wondering if removing all these EGR disconnects (5) was correct and if so, wha'ts the issue and fix? Is the tune program from Diesel Dudes right?)
Send me a message on instagram
@@darkirondiesel All good now. Finally no codes and job is complete. Thanks for the replies and support.
While waiting on parts I already took off the dpf out. Then I read the instructions and it says I have to install the tuner 1st. Do I really have to put everything back together?
No you should be ok
Do you know anyone with a delete kit for a 2023 ram Cummins 6.7
Who makes a tune for my 05 Dodge 3500 5.9 and I will replace my turbo when it shuts and will go with a 64 turbo want to be able to tow and haul heavy so not looking for anything that will shorten the life of my engine and have had 3 fuel filters since new two 5 micro and one cat 2 micron so injectors are still good and I have 151k so a ways to go ,so what tune people do you recommend?
I have an 04 and 05, both are tuned by firepunk diesel. Awesome group of guys, and it's legal to tune our trucks so we don't have to jump through hoops. I have a 64 holset on my 04 with the 67 turbine, 100% injectors with a 10mm pump and that turbo flat rocks for a daily driver. Especially with some extra fuel.
Wish I went this way before my delete. After 6 weeks I have “lurching” at times. Mostly when stopping or slowing. I’m hoping to get it fixed by reprogramming it. Uggg. What a headache…
Do you know of anything for a 2024 without the ecu swap?
No you have to swap the ecu
For normal driving and towing my tractor, boat and off road jeep. If kept on low level will it make that stupid smoke? I don't care for the stupid coal. But to remove all the crap and get a better sound sounds great. As long as it doesn't smoke all the time towing and pulling.
It shouldn’t smoke and worst case if it does you can email them and get new tunes that inject less fuel
On a 17 do you need an unlock cable like they did on previous generations of ezlynk?
No, the sgm started on the 2018
Correct
You say in the video that 2021 trucks had the CP4 but I think that was just 19 and 20 right?
You are correct on the years. My 19 got the cp3 upgrade last year. That's when they snuck in the Cummins lawsuit recall sofware update which now is causing way too frequent regens and eating def. I'm going to put mine on a diet soon. Great Video.
The only issue I had with my 5 inch exhaust was the furthest back exhaust piece kept rotating and hitting the spares heat shield making a shitty rattling noise even after impacting the clamp down. Anyone having similar issues can just have a buddy weld it or even maybe just tack it to keep it from rotating. I had a buddy weld it. Keep in mind it will be a huge pain in the ass to take out afterwards though.
This happened to me when I deleted mine and I took the heat shield off. I was a little weary at first due to the heat from the exhaust being so close to the spare tire, but I’ve had it this way for a year and the tire is just fine. So if you don’t want to weld it, just remove it altogether.
Mine rotates up into the bottom of the bed and has rubbed the metal. I cut it off a few inches past the final bend and installed the MBRP 5 inch turn down
Hopefully they’ll have ram 2023 Cummins figured out soon so the exam don’t have to be swapped out
And now you truck will live longer!
It will live forever!
I really WONDER how long till bad old EPA discover this guy????
Question is the only difference between 2017 and 2018 the bypass cable? and does the SOFT switch connect the same on both the 17 & 18? Thanks
I’ve never installed an ez lynk sotf switch on a 2013-2018 but I’m assuming it would be the same. Efi live sotf switch plugs directly into obd plug. And yes as far as I know the only difference between 2017 and 2018 is the 2018 requires the bypass cable. Here’s a link to the kit shrsl.com/49ixn
Thanks Kyle, I have everything and have been watching the heck out of your you tube as to how to put it all together. Let's just say I am older, and this tunning is a new one to me and makes me nervous. Thanks for all you do to help us along with the newer stuff! @@darkirondiesel
Is it possible to return to the original stock after delete the system and programming?
Yes you can reinstall your emission components and flash a stock tune back onto the ecm
I have a 22 ram 2500 ready to fully lose weight. do you have a video for that
It’s pretty much the same other then the tuning is different. The exhaust and egr delete are the same though. Here’s a link for a kit. 2022s are pricy because you have to purchase a new ecm. shrsl.com/49epv
Hell ya
Could you do a video like this on a 22 duramax
I will be doing one in the near future, although I’m not as familiar with the L5P engine so the video may not be as detailed but I will do my best!
@@darkirondieselthe Duramax is quite big and small as in it's bigger then a Cummins but smaller then a power stroke the kit is entirely different since you have to connect to the fuse box to start the process though it will cost a bit more now but not as much since with the 2020-23 l5p we no longer have to send the ecm out but it will something either way for you
Yeah it’s a totally different process, im excited to do one.
@@darkirondiesel indeed I just want to have a video to reference for the egr delete
with the ezlynk tuning i got the bundle from ezlynk tho
Who's the vendor
Ez lynk doesn’t make tunes, they just make the tuner. You need to find a company that makes ez lynk tunes to lynk your truck to.
@@darkirondiesel gdp did the tuning my bad
can I tune it without deleting for a change in power? thx
You can get emissions on tuning yes
Can you do a video of just unplugging the EGR and not taking it out?
At the beginning of the “egr” chapter I show you which plugs to unplug. Just unplug them and that’s all you have to do.
Do the 2022 Cummins delete kit
I will! Soon
@@darkirondieselI have a 2022 2500 is that the same as the 3500 you did?
Their kit will be different, main thing is tuning. I had to ship my ecm away, with the diesel dudes kit you don’t have to do that. I’ll be getting a kit soon here to make a video on.
@@darkirondiesel thank you so much my man.
❤❤
Where are you location sr
When i did mine i put a hemi cluster in it so theres no fluid guage anymore
Interesting I’ve never heard of that before. This tune just sets the def gauge to empty
@darkirondiesel yea it works perfectly too and has all the lights and functionality so that you don't have a guage doing nothing. Just get it programmed with the correct hours, Vin and odometer by the seller if you order one
Who writes the tunes? Ccs? Or ?
This kit uses GDP which is also a really great Canadian tuning company
Is this the same process for a 2014?
Very similar. I’m actually doing a video on the 2013-2018 right now. It will be uploaded in about a week
