just deleted my LML and did cp3 conversion and my goodness does it suck working on it. whole time i told myself i should’ve gotten a cummins cause it’s so much easier to work on
@@cjhead804 , yeah I hated working on the LML lol. They’re good trucks though, I just got tired of seeing stuff about the CP4, pistons, head gaskets, etc. so I traded her for a Cummins. Got the Megacab longhorn Laramie trim. 10x nicer than my Lml was.
If anyone ever wonders, the 4th Gen DPF weighs right around 41 lbs (one with 100k miles on it and looks clean. The exhaust filter behind it weighs 58 lbs. DEF weighs about 9.1 lbs per gallon. Therefore, deleting a 4th gen just the DPF, exhaust Filter and DEF fluid emptied with a 4" 2 section stainless pipe that replaced the 2 underside parts from the diesel brothers... Without removing the EGR will save only 125 lbs of payload. Just gee wizz stuff. Thanks for the video.

Question man... so, I HARDLY ever deal with stop and go but today I drove through way more stop and go intersections than normal and now I'm having a hard downshift from 2nd to first. Could it be that the transmission was trying to relearn and now it's just at a "funky" leaning curve and would you recommend doing a relearn with the tune?

Just installed 2018 kit but didn’t receive bypass cable for the SOTF. With the EZ Lynk tuning. They gave me some splice connectors. What wires would I splice into without a bypass cable?
Would it be possible to unplug all the censors from the muffler and just keeping it on?

Just installed this kit on my truck I know the def is deleted but isn’t the gauge supposed to read full, is there anyway to get it to read full? There’s a lot unplugged and no lights on the dash so there must be some kind of programming to “trick” it to read full
First off great video great step by step instructions. So I fully deleted my 2015 Cummins and can't get it to crank over and start. When I hooked up my EFI live and uploaded my tunes using EZ-Link auto agent 3.0 i started the truck just like the video said and didn't have a problem. I have now removed my EGR cooler and finished up my exhaust and the truck isn't turning over. I check both batteries and they both are good. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks again

Question what's the difference between the CC tunes and diesel dudes?
I’m not sure, I’ve ran both and had success with each. If you need a whole kit I’d definitely recommend diesel dudes just because the price is probably better then you will find anywhere and it comes as a kit.
Have you done any deletes on tractors or construction equipment?
itonly shows you deleting it. do you have to tune it or chip it or retime it as to avoid any damage from overheating or timing failures in the future?

What we need is someone to make a vid on how to delete the stuff in programming via HP tuners or EFI Live. I recently learned how to delete the Skim Module using EFI live so I can start a truck. I still dont know how to tune. I assume disabling the stuff without a tune is possible. Soon we wont be able to buy any of these kits. Already no longer allowed to discuss how to tune any more on the Cummins Forum as the feds are treading the discussion like its porn, drugs, guns, or terroristic nonsense.

I don’t even know how to do that. I buy my tunes from companies that know what they are doing. For the roughly $500 it costs for a company to send you a tune I just do that instead of struggling my way through learning how to tune myself with risking damage to the engine.
@@darkirondiesel For the most part I pay for tunes, but on some trucks like the one with a skim module issue I just want to get it started so I can see what I am working with. As time goes on there will be fewer people who tune till eventually there is no one who will openly say they do for fear of legal troubles.
We all need to learn some level of it before it is to late. I am just starting out. I can disable certain modules and adjust limits among a few other things. I still have a long way to go. Newest truck I have is an 06.
I use firepunk. Its less than $500 for revisions. I dont like how low he sets the rail pressures. I hack his tune by installing a 220mpa sensor to scale it up.

Can you speak to the #1 NOX sensor that’s upstream and mounted in turbocharger exhaust housing? Is it acceptable to just leave it mounted on the turbo?
Is it necessary to disconnect the harness for it or will the tune simply delete its “presence”and permit operator to just leave it as it is?
I’ve got p2201 codes telling me to replace it however I should have the delete done in two weeks and don’t want to spend $800 + on a sensor I possibly will not need.

I believe the #1 NOX sensor is so out of sight and mind that it never gets mentioned or illustrated in these “projects”. Seeing as no one talks about it you’re probably right about leaving it alone.
It’s expensive and in a nasty location with even nastier hardware . If I don’t have to replace it due to the codes it’s throwing or disconnect the harness it’s a bonus.

I have a 2014 6.7. The hardest thing I’ve done is change water pump, all coolant hoses and thermostat, drive belt, dropped tranny pan and changed filter/fluid. Is this something I can do if I only have this video for a guide?
If I buy the ez link for my 2013 will it be the same instal as this one? Or do I have to refer to the video you did on installing then ez link on the 2019-2021 trucks video you did ?

This is my plan for my 16 cummins
just followed this video this morning. Started on my truck around noon. Went perfectly. No issues with programming at all. I am 66 and it 100 degrees outside. No shop, working on a piece of plywood on a gravel driveway. The only thing needed to finish up is the muffler and connections to the tail pipe. Great video.
I have a bullydog delete tunner on my '18. I'd like to change to a different tuner to a EZlink. Will I have any problems doing that?
Nope, I recommend returning your truck to stock with the bully dog first though, that way you could sell it or use it on another truck. Return truck to stock, then program with ez lynk

Is this kit 100% reversible if need be?
I unplugged the break controller while the truck was running. After it seems to killed somehting and the gauges dont work, windows dont work and truck is completly dead. I replaced the BCM and still same issue. any help would be gratly appreciate it. thank you
That’s weird man I have no idea. Unplugging the factory trailer brake controller shouldn’t do anything except maybe throw a code.
What's the purpose of removing the throttle valve?
Does this process still work if the truck has received the 67A Emissions Recall? I have heard that the recall will lock the ECM.

So i just got a 2017 ram 2500 6.7, truck is tuned and deleted but i have no clue what tuner. Its a five position dial like yours and it says northern edge diesel on it i believe but edge says they only do compliant emissions vehicles from what i read. I just want to know what the tunes are, dude said dont go over 3 or ill wad the trans up.
There’s not really any way to know what tunes are on the truck

I’ve always just left the def tank and whatever def is in it in the truck. I’ve never messed with it. If you wanted to remove it I’m sure you could just unplug it and drop it down.
Just run def almost completely empty before delete

I removed my def tank and put a horn blaster kit on the super heavy duty def frame

What do you mean plugging the sensors? With dummy caps? No it won’t throw codes, that’s what the tuner is for.
Could the egr stayed plugged in with no issues or do you have to unplug it?
You can leave the egr on the truck but I recommend unplugging it. You do have to swap exhaust though, can’t put a delete program on the ecm without removing the stock exhaust

I haven’t heard anything about it so I’m assuming it would be fine.
There is some potential speculation I've heard that the update locks the ECU to prevent it from being reprogrammed. Don't know the validity of this, but your best bet may be to leave it as is, especially if your goal is to liberate the truck anyway. There really is a lot of uncertainty about the details of this particular recall right now and I think the details are purposely being withheld by FCA because of EPA pressure.
Do you know what the inspection process is bringing a truck from AB to SK? Would a truck on a diet pass?
Yeah it should pass in Saskatchewan as long as it has a muffler and isn’t straight piped.

Depends, you can do a straight pipe or you can get a muffler with the exhaust kit. I have a muffler on my truck, it’s just a big resonator but it should pass safety. You can pick one up for like $200 if you need.
Any recommendations for after the delete the def gauge stays at empty to get it to say it full?
You could email support and ask if they could write you a different tune that shows the gauge reading full, not sure if they will be able to or not though

Id recommend you don’t let them flash your ecm with a recall, could get worse power and worse fuel milage. Or just say screw it and delete your truck then you don’t need to worry about it at all.

Edit: confirmed through FCAs website on the vehicle recall list by VIN that they did it today via satellite. Just my 2019. My 2013 and 2022 haven’t been touched yet.

my def reads empty has been like that since deleting what made it stay up on 100% ??? i just put in dual exhaust running 7in pipes into a 10in tip removed fctory muffler she rolls coal every day and sounds like a beast now installing a banks ram air

can you give us an update on your delete? After the ECU swap, does it upshift while on adaptive cruise control?
I don’t think my truck has adaptive cruise control, although I’ve never looked for it in my settings. But I will do an update video soon

Nah mine is just a Laramie but it has most of the higher end features (leather, heated and cooled seats, big screen, sunroof, etc)
@@darkirondiesel Understood. This may interest you.. Mine is a 3500 Limited (2022). Did the ECM swap delete with Dirty Diesel like you did. Some were having issues with adaptive cruise not upshifting as the truck accelerates back up. So if you are not careful, adaptive cruise at low speed would often redline. I just received an update yesterday that the tune provider has found the issue and fixed it. They needed my swapped ECM & the original ECM back because it wasn't possible to fix via EZ Link / EFI Live. Apparantly, multiple files have to be layered. My ECM is now off to Dirty Diesel, and should get it back in a week. Maybe you are not affected at all, but it may be prudent to check everything on your truck, and if it makes sense, get the ECM reflashed with the newer setup which cannot be done with the EZ Link/ EFI Live route.

If you upgrade to the ez lynk option it gives you the option for doing single tunes. There’s a few to pick from

do you have to take off the factory exhaust system when you delete it or can you keep it on and just unplug it that way if you do get pulled over you can tell the police hey look its factory exhaust
The only way you could keep your factory exhaust system on the truck is if you took it apart, punched out all the exhaust filters, bolted it back together and reinstalled it. You can’t run a delete tune and keep the factory exhaust filters. It will plug up and destroy your engine.

just did the egr delete on my 6.7 powerstroke. Watched your video on it. And I have ran into a little hiccup. Went to start it up and it was a long crank probably 5-10 seconds. Any idea?

I’d start by unplugging the throttle valve, but doing an egr delete shouldn’t effect the starting of the truck. Was it only one time or does it consistently take longer to start now?

Did it start doing it when you tuned the truck? Maybe it’s a problem with the tuner. If so I would contact whoever you bought the tuner from and see if they can send a new tune file to fix it.

Nothing changes with the aisin tranny other then the tune doesn’t come with trans tuning.

Nope just make sure you mentioned it was a manual when you ordered the tune
You will need to upgrade to a dual disc clutch. Factory clutch is junk and will slip after the delete. Valair makes a good clutch.

How much maintenance is required after a delete? CCV, etc.
Should be more concerned about how much is bail. Deleting a diesel engine is a criminal offense.

Does a 5in exhaust fit with air bags?
Factory airbags yes I’ve always been able to fit them but they are tight.
