Do you have anything out for a 2024 Ram 3500 Yet???
@@mitchelldarnell5334wanting to know for the 2023’s also
Im curious i live in ontario and its very hard to find clear info on deleting trucks, i currently have a 2nd gen but i want to get a 2013 ram 3500 and delete it but i also dont want to get hit with a massive ticket
It's truly criminal what the EPA in the US is doing. It's bad enough that everything they do for emissions is counter productive but the fact they can just eliminate an entire sub culture/hobby that makes millions for small business is just mind blowing
And were they only ones on the planet doing this? Everybody else is blowing black smoke like crazy
Yup I don’t understand. Why not use their resources to do something that actually makes a difference.
How is it mind blowing? It should be no surprise that the EPA is cracking down on people deleting trucks. After VW's cheater software scandal, and the problems that now Ram is having with their trucks supposedly not meeting standards with emissions equipment intact; there will come a time when the fines and state laws will make it untenable to delete a truck. The EPA could care less about a "sub culture, or hobby" all they see is people turning up their fuel pumps and blowing black smoke... which isn't even good for those of us who enjoy diesels as well. Electric vehicles suck, but we have to come to terms with the reality that the days of tuning diesels are quickly dwindling away.
Just another instance where unelected bureaucrats are destroying the sovereignty of Americans. It's truly pervasive across this entire country.
Vote blue and lose joys of life
Id like to see you do a 100 mile MPG comparison between a stock, non deleted, truck and a deleted and tuned truck. Fuel topped off and hand calculated MPG test.
I got a 2019 Ram 3500.
It's deleted, cp3 pump and on a standard mopar tune. (gotta get it redone for the CP3 recall.)
Anyway, went from Claresholm to Canmore to Lethbridge.
8.2 L/100kms, 115 kph most of the time.
Thats 28mpg.
Very impressed.
Kyle, love your videos. Always very informative and you don’t rush through with explaining the little details. Keep the videos coming. I really enjoy your content. 👍🏻🔥
Thanks Alex!
I have to say that the 5” turbo back straight pipe is the way to go with any diesel truck. Takes any diesel engine and makes it sound so much better and keep the engine breathing correctly & efficiently!
What about the 4" exhaust? Asking cause I don't want my truck to be annoying loud especially on road trips.
@@robcimpan25114 inch should be better for everything that isn't racing or high rpm applications. For any given rpm, a particular exhaust pipe diameter is the most efficient. If you go too large your exhaust velocity decreases from having to push through lots of stagnant air.
Thanks Dark Iron..Great info…we set up our 06 / 2500 / 5.9 / mega cab with everything you did to your previous blue truck and it’s a keeper…thinking about an 08 resistol with a 6.7 to add to the fleet..so this vid really helps
That’s awesome! Glad to hear it
Kyle, those fuel mileage numbers are very impressive 😊
Love your new Camera Girl 👍 Ya Buddy
Thank you!
Hey buddy love it when you come with new content keep it coming I just ordered my s369 3rd gen swap and 5 in exhaust it's gonna be sick
Hope your adding a 10mm cp3 and at least 43% injectors or it'll be extremely laggy
That MPG is awesome I got the 2017 6.7 2500 with same so tires and get like 18ish-20 mpg sometimes.that extra power with better MPG is awesome,I’m in Arizona I got see if I can do this to mine for sure
Excellent video! Thats a really nice truck ! Have you ever encountered issues using a SOTF? I’ve wanted to try using one on my Powerstroke but I’ve read they’re bad for the truck because it only changes your ECM on the fly but doesn’t touch the TCM parameters, so basically it’ll add extra wear and tear with the constant power changes.
wish this would of been out when I deleted my 18, this truck is running way better then whatever tune got thrown into mine
Awesome video man!! 25 mpg is really good for a diesel. My 23 Nissan Titan pro-4x 5.6 V8 gets 25 mpg on 35's. Ive done intake with a venomaire intake combo, ram air hood, headers with header cooling wrap, exhaust, diablo sports tune, 92 octane tune, trans tune and a few other mods.
That’s good man!! Those are nice trucks
More power will come from higher boost, therefore it will only be realized at full throttle. It will make the same power at just cruising speeds without spinning up that turbo and pushing it
That's really interesting to me that the higher HP tunes are actually yielding better fuel mileage! I haven't personally tried to see what my mileage would be on various settings 2-5. My truck's been liberated for the past 2.5 years before most of the utter craziness went down here in the states. I've actually been somewhat afraid of keeping it in tune 3 or higher for regular driving. Most of the time, I'll only turn it up to 3 to 5 if I do wanna romp for a quick pull on the highway and I always make sure my transmission's up to temp beforehand. Almost every time I do a pull like that (especially on 4 or 5), I'll throw a tranny code for low line pressure even after I had the trans service done about 15-20k miles ago. I'd probably need an upgraded valve body to avoid that, but truthfully, I only did the "weight reduction" for reliability because I kept getting limp mode threats multiple times while the OEM components were still on and I just got tired of bringing it to the dealer about 5 separate times while under extended warranty without any real fix. Once the warranty was up, the junk came off and I haven't had a single issue since... go figure! Do you really think SOTF tunes 3 or 4 would be fine for regular daily usage (don't really wanna publicly disclose the tune company used on my EZ-Lynk, but from what I can recall, I'm almost positive it's based off all the major players in the industry)? I really like the feel of tunes 3 and 4 in particular, especially with the better throttle response of the trans tuning. Even tune 1 has been much better than stock with MPG, but I certainly wouldn't mind a boost in fuel economy here in the mountains with so many significant elevation changes. What do you think?
I've had mine on 150hp tune for 3 years with no issue with an s364.5 sxe turbo
Nothing more environmentally friendly than seeing the regeneration in progress message and having to drive until it completes its cycle regardless if you have reached your destination. Failing to do so will eventually result in a check engine light with a P2459 code.
New to the diesel world. Thanks for the info!
Sounds great. I’m going to delete mine eventually. Definitely need the muffler because I’m in comifornia. I’ve done the banks monster ram intake and the cold air intake from banks. I also replaced my turbo actuator with the city diesel one. It sounds great, I just don’t want a super loud truck because I use it for work everyday.
Have you considered what effect the non-stock tire diameter has on the accuracy of the computer calculation regarding MPG?
Those little people pushing emissions and electric vehicles are wild man…… the most efficient vehicles are tuned and deleted diesel trucks….. my truck is pre emissions so I’m clear way out here but this truck right here is so clean and nicely set up!!!! Needs 37x13.50r20 Nitto mudgrapplers!!!! And it’ll be set perfectly!
One thing I can mention here is,
I have the same tune EFI live with the switch.
setting 4 has the exhaust brake at idle, the others dont.
When i switch power modes quickly like you did, sometimes it doesn't actually go into the final switched position, Lets say 4, and instead stays in tune 2 or 3. so I'd switch one click at a time now. My giveaway to know is the exhaust brake isn't on**
What if I increase 50-75horse? Can I still tow heavy loads? What are some of the precautions while towing? Just drive east?
I have 2024 Ram 3500 high output 6.7 Cummins. I have a lot of problems with emissions systems. Only have 50k miles on it. Do you know if i can do the same think to it?
Easily one of the cummins videos out there!
It’s definitely one of the Cummins videos out there lol.
Nice. Looking forward to “how to do it’’ video. ❤❤
It’s already up! I put a link to it in this video’s description
I would really like to see what an entire tank and the calculator at the fuel pump method those truck computers are not exact
Awesome video, in the works of the doing mine thanks buddy your videos are always straight forward 🫡🤙
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Hi, I got P056E error code at my 2021 deleted RAM 2500, do you have any idea how to solve it ? thanks.
How much does it cost to delete a 2018 ram cummins and a 2020 f250 powerstroke. Im looking at buying one or the other
So does the TCM automatically adjust based on the level you’re in on the switch?
As someone brand new to the tuning world, would it be bad to run the truck on the level 4 setting all the time?
Hey Kyle how about getting your Bros, and drag racing Gen 4 deleted and tuned against stock
I hope yours can compute those milage numbers better than most. Ive always found when hand calculated its never as much as it shows
Either way the fuel milage is better. My buddy who owns the truck says he’s getting way more miles to a tank then before.
@@darkirondiesel Better, that's true. But don't imply that you're actually getting 27mpg. It's not named a lie-o-meter for nothing. Run a whole tank on each setting and hand calculate.
However my lie o meter has been pretty spot on to hard calculations within 1 mpg
So what if a guy buys a pickup that's already been deleted it blows a hole in the block smashing the ecm pcm and you get another engine . Can you tune it after the def, dpf and egr are already off? Cause that's the pickel I'm in
kind of doubt the mpg claims. You have to remember the programmer is making changes to fueling program for truck. The dash "lie o meter " is trying to make a calculation based on the stock fuel settings. When you post hand calculated mpg from using up a complete fuel tank I will be more impressed. Also did you reprogram in regards to your tire size?
Overall nice clean delete😀
That’s insane! I tuned my 2014 6.7 with the whole kit from diesel dudes thanks to you. I get about 13.5-14mpg.
My issue now is that I am getting (after about 5-7 weeks after the tune) what I’ve been told could be “timing rattle.” Any experience with any issue like that before Dark Iron Diesel? Would love your insight on it. I have videos of it rattling I can share.
Sounds great. We're you recording though your phone microphone or the trucks microphone? I'm trying to gauge since I use the built in truck stereo for phone calls often.
Just through my iPhones microphone
Stock tires 265 sized tires and and stock oem height with stock intake stock exhaust with the smarty touch I got 26 on average on the highway
You got good truck talk and parts availability. But where's the blue dodge?? The single cab?? Folks where I'm from own them and like your knowledge on upgrades.
Hey great video very informative just a question is there a lift or a level and what size and brand are the tires I know 37 ? By thanks and keep up the good work
Hey, I’m not sure, I think the truck was just stick with 37” tires on stock wheels. It rubbed a bit if you turned it all the way
37/12.5/20 fallen wildpeaks at3w with a 2” spacer level. Rubbed bad b4 at full lock. I own the truck.
All good videos you rock. How about doing a Dyno pull before and after delete and exhaust and tune. Just curious how much hP makes before and after.
I’m literally in the market for a dyno right now so I can see how much HP certain parts actually gain you
@@darkirondiesel thanks what's your estimate horsepower on that truck you just did
Blue tec cleaned once more at the refinery no xtras needed ...north america wont do the xtra process so all the xtra costs to the buyer ...
I get 22-24 mpg out of my 3rd gen 5.9 mega cab with 5” turbo back, cold air intake, 8” lift on 37’s with the smarty touch programmer and monitor. I LOVE IT!!!! Never going to get rid of this truck unless someone brings me 30k it ain’t leaving LMAO 🤣 priced high so it ain’t goin no where lollll
You'd probably get better mpg's(and more low end power) with a 4 inch exhaust. 5 inch is better for racing. Exhaust velocity is what determines efficiency and power.
So for the MPGs. Is taking into account the speedo being off from the 37s or is the computer already recalibrated?
The Speedo was calibrated for the bigger tires
Sounds great!
Thanks!
Have you deleted an LZO 3.0 Duramax?
Thats some damnnn good mileage. My deleted and tuned 2012 6.7 cummins on 35 inch tires currently gets about 15-18 mpg on flat land at 55 mph. the higher hp settings makes my mileage worse.
Hmm interesting. Maybe time for a different tuner?
@@darkirondiesel
my thoughts exactly. The truck had all the work done prior to me getting it. Its a bit challenging finding someone reputable in the states due to all the epa laws. @@darkirondiesel
Yeah sounds like you need a different tuner bro, I have a 2012 ram 3500 mega cab leveled on 35” tires and I get if I’m just cruising around exactly what you get and I’m completely stock. would love to delete mines though
The better fuel economy = less emissions released in the air .
I have a 03 lb7 with some mods done it's a 6 inch lift 35 inch bighorns on 17s 5 inch straight piped I'm getting 28 hwy at 75 mph and 24 city soni definitely ain't bitching lmao
Can you use the ezlynk to change tunes instead of using the SOTF switch??
Yes you can switch tunes with the ez lynk but it’s not instant. You would have to program the new tune onto the truck each time which takes about 10 minutes
What is the gear ratio on this setup?
Do you have any videos on 2019 H.O. Aisen’s? I would love to see a full tune and delete, as well as gas’s mileage , the good, the bad, the ugly😊
If you search on my channel “how I deleted my 2022 Cummins” or something like that a video should pop up. I have the Aisin in mine. Fuel milage is worse because of the gearing, but it runs and drives awesome
@@darkirondiesel I’ll look now
looking to purchase a 4th gen ram coming from a 3rd gen which year 4th gen is the best?? thank you
heard to stay away from 12-13 but any advice much appreciated.
I think they are all pretty much the same man, personally I’d get a 2013+ for resale value, the 2010-2012 have an older interior. Just buy the best one you can find, best shape, lowest miles, less owners the better usually.
I got a 10 because it doesn’t have def. The interior is a huge upgrade from my third gen, both Laramies.
Hey Dark Iron Diesel, if I move to Canada after I've already done the 67a recall, will the new tune (I believe that's all they did) be overwritten by the new one if I do this Diesel Dudes kit?
Ya the diesel dudes kit will overwrite whatever programming is on the ecm
Awesome thanks for the info!@darkirondiesel
@@darkirondiesel has anyone done it yet after getting the recall update? This is a rumor going around that if you got the 67A update reflash that it locks the PCM.
Is it OK to change fuel maps while driving? Example switches from 1-4 on the SOTF dial.
Yes but let off the throttle when you do it. Also keep in mind switching power levels effects how the transmission will shift because it’s constantly adapting to driving styles and power, so don’t be switching levels constantly and driving the truck hard, it will be bad for the transmission.
@@darkirondiesel I know from experience and destroyed mine while chaging maps while driving. Be careful.
Is there a tune/mod out there for the cummins that allows me to flip flop from deleted mpg to running with standard ontario emissions incase I get pulled over in Ontario kind of like VW did to pass tests or is that impossible since it requires removing certain parts to delete it properly?
It would be impossible because you HAVE to remove the stock exhaust. You can’t program a delete tune then leave the stock exhaust on, you’ll cause serious engine damage.
@@darkirondiesel maybe to do a stealth delete you could gut the catalyst out of the exhaust and reinstall stock pipes. Just unplug the sensors.
I'm in Ontario with a 4th gen,
Delete tune, under the hood unplug not removed and straight 4 inch,
Can it be possible that once a year to go back and forth between stuck and Deleted to pass emissions test
Thanks
You would have to swap your stock exhaust back onto the truck and tune the truck with a stock file, then you should be good.
What are you going to do when the state wants the Emissions upgrade info from the CHYSLER Dealer on the Emission recall notice? Oh shit! No registration for me!
Don't really care about sound it does sound great but I am more into reliability fuel mileage and engine life highest I would go is 35' tires
Fair enough!
You must be in Saskatchewan. I’ve seen those bins in the middle of the #1 before lol
I’ve got the Aisin transmission. I’m going to keep it in tune 1 forever, how long should I drive it normal before I get back to regular towing.
Not long man maybe a day or so
Just picked up a 2015 Wednesday and Friday the check engine light came on for a nox code dealership wouldn’t help with anything so I just ordered the full kit from diesel dudes
How you like it? I have 14, this exact kit sitting in my garage.
2:03 how do you advance the timing on a diesel?
It’s all done electronically with the tune. It advances the time at which the fuel is injected.
U spoke of a trans tune. Does that trans tune upload automatically when doing the delete or is it a separate download??
On these trucks the ecm and tcm are one unit, so it programs the transmission and engine at the same time.
Have a 22 ram 2500 Cummins would love to know how to delete that one I don’t have emissions in my town in Georgia
Check out his other videos. He deleted his 22 or maybe it’s a 23
It makes me mad having an ecodiesel and I only get 29-30. I should’ve gotten a Cummins. BUT! The performance is much better. I don’t tow/haul so I like the speed. Tighter steering with the 1500
Yeah a half ton is definitely more compact which can be really nice.
With the efi live auto cal cam you return to stock in the future?
Yes you can they can send you a stock file
If you have an existing tune can you put a different tune if you don’t like what you have
Yup you should be able to do that no problem
@@darkirondiesel I have EFI live but I’ve noticed that when I change the knob there isn’t a difference in the way the engine sounds
@@bennyburns77 it won't sound any different lol

8.2L/100kms right here!
Not sure what that is in bald eagles and budweisers but gotta be good. 😂
Haha that’s really good! 😂
Wow that’s impressive
I thought so too
Aftermarket air filter make any difference with performance?
Well actually I will be testing that out on a dyno in the near future to see if they actually increase HP so stay tuned for that
So does the tune still show I/
M monitors as being ready?
I don’t know what I/m monitors are
@@darkirondiesel monitors that are check during smog. Most tuners shut them off so they read inactive. The truck will then not pass smog check when the obd is read.

Hey there. Ive gotta '17 2500 cummins. I'm looking to change to the banks monster intake to eliminate the chance of the heater grid bolt failure I live in stoon. I wouldn't do it until spring. Fully deleted already. Would you be interested in doing it for content on your channel?

What about the thousands of dollars in fines??
Would like to see an actual fillup to confirm numbers we all know how computers like to lie
Yeah I can talk to my buddy who owns the truck and get him to do that
Do you need head studs for these tunes?
No but head studs are always a good idea even on a stock truck
Awesome vid man just subbed could you possibly do this for the l5p duramax? there are not alot of how to tune and deletes for the l5p both the 17-19 and the 2020-2023
It’s in the works buddy! Most likely will be doing a 2022 L5P here right away
@@darkirondiesel Awesome, one disclaimer that is the 2020-2023 are a little different than the 2017-2019, like the transmission for the 17-19 has the 6 speed built allison and the 20-23 has the 10 speed branded allison, also the coolant lines locations for the egr are different the body styles obviously so that means probably having to use different techniques so your probably going to get people asking you to do both versions, but irregardless thanks for doing this and I will keep on the lookout for those l5p videos
I deleted and got efi live on my 09 cummins and only get 15 mpg
You should be getting better fuel economy. Who’s tuning did you use?
And in my opinion the 5” stainless steel turbo back straight pipe sounds better than the regular steel/aluminized 5” straight pipe. Worth every penny of the price difference
And Ram boxes... Sweet truck!
I can’t believe the mileage is this low
When I deleted and tuned my 2013 Cummins, I went on a 6hr trip and got about 30ish mpg
That’s so good
Great video, the cam girl added a lot.
Where man help me hood stack
Omg! This is a HUGE difference in fuel mileage by deleting. I been wanting to delete my Ram 2500 but Id most likely lose my warranty here in Texas and not pass emissions test. Sht with a huge drop like this in fuel mileage I think it would be worth it!! 😂More power and better fuel?
I thought Texas was like the capital of big jacked up diesel trucks

When do you need to do head studs?
Head studs are a great upgrade at any point in time. When you increase the power level you increase the chance of stretching your head bolts and blowing a head gasket. So as soon as possible if you can, but it’s not necessary.
the way the governments comin after people id be scared shiteless to delete
Do the banks power ram with the heater deleted the grid heater bolt bs

my 4th gen gets no where near this tunned, I only get 11 L/100km which is about 21 MPG and its on 35" tires
Thats on RaceMeUltra tune 3 ("100HP") and tune 4 ("150HP") I'm scared of tune 5 ("200HP")
