My BYD Seal just came back from being repaired from a rear-end collision. I just got it back today but I noticed the trunk's button no longer opens the trunk when the car is locked, and the lock button inside the trunk does not work either. I have raised it with the repair team at the shop before I drove off, and they're going to contact BYD to fix the issue and call me back on Monday when I can bring it back in to the shops. Not sure what's happened but the other driver's insurance got this repaired at their choice of provider so they didn't go through a BYD authorized repair shop. Everything else seems to work ok however and there are no other problems. Hope you get your car back soon and enjoy your hire car.

With my insurer the repair is done by THEIR chosen repairer and the other repairer is billed.

I always thought that by law distributors were required to hold stocks of parts for the vehicles they sold for a certain number of years, BYD obviously isn't playing that game.

Hyundai and Kia don’t even keep injectors in stock in Australia for their diesel engines. A friend just recently needed a new engine for his 16 month old Kia Sportage - 3 months wait. Another needed injectors, 6 week wait!

One month to get a rear Bumper cover
Just had to get one for a Pajero sport
It took one day to arrive from Sydney to Newcastle

Not a fair comparison as the Pajero has been around a long time therefore not surprising that parts are readily available. BYD Seal is new here and it will be a while before it has built up support.

Terrible time for you to get in a wreck mate I feel ya! You just want things to be back to normal when it happens asap. I'm guessing the hire car is a Polestar 2.... 😆

Sorry about your Seal! Hope it comes back ok! Does anyone know where to buy a new Performance Wheel? Partner massively kerbed it and need a new one.

@@Audios81 Facebook groups/marketplace. Expensive directly from the dealer. But i've seen a lot of people selling the original wheels on fb when they put their own rims on the car.

Don't know how you did it. My Atto 3 has been sitting at the repairers for about 2 months now for a rear end smash. It will be another month before I get it back. I am in QLD.
