Completely agree with everything you said! The biggest problem i have is that while I am successfully navigating carnage ahead, I'm often rear -ended by guys who say, "sorry but you braked so early!"🤬🤬🤬
I feel you! To mitigate this I try to brake early and progressively, as braking hard all of a sudden is likely to catch the guys behind off guard. Often it works, but sometimes I still get slammed into. When it works, then the guys behind just drive right around me. Often they end up causing more carnage or getting collected in the wrecked cars ahead 😂 but yeah predictability and anticipation is important here
These are great tips for lap 1 of a race. One thing though. At the end of the video about braking early on cold tires and brakes the one thing you have to also worry about is if another driver is on your rear and he or she is not paying attention they can slam right into you. It has happened to me on several occasions and they are yelling at you for braking too early. Most drivers do not have proper race etiquette and do not understand the concept of cold tires and brakes and just go full throttle.

Agree Rachel, I always lift when I see some carnage ahead.....only to get rear ended straight away..!!! 😡

That's true! I do think that it's important to stay as predictable as possible, in order to avoid the issue that you mentioned!
