Yes!! I found out about this too late. I mentioned it in the video, but I’ll pin your comment cause I’m sure some people will miss it as the video is a bit long. Thanks for sharing 😊
1 hour to come within 1 second of an expert lap without any prior track knowledge is incredible. Those are goals i hope to hit by the end of each week of racing, even going into those weeks with some track knowledge.
I’ve been using the paid version of this for several months now, also with SFL, and it’s absolutely worth it. I will offer a couple of things: the real value is in the overlays. Being able to instantly see what speed you should be carrying through a corner, how hard and when to brake, which gear to be in, etc… is a massive time saver when learning a track. Later, when you’ve gotten all of the “easy” time, it’s super easy to see where you are losing those last few tenths just by glancing at the overlays. I keep speed and braking overlays open all the time. Now (as of last week) you can also load custom or community submitted laps. The voice coach is largely still just a gimmick - it doesn’t tell you anything you can’t get by glancing at the overlays. The GUI is also a mess but the benefits are still huge. Best iracing companion app out there period.
Again. I mean… second video I watch on your channel and DAMN. I think what I like the most is the organization of your videos. 100k subs soon for sure!
Great video. I use VRS and load the pro lap as a reference car and that seems to give me the most valuable practice time but I think this could help me even more. Going to give it a shot!
Its a really fun way to learn since its all in real time and you're not trying to refrence a lap guide all the time, im a new user and new sim racer and i think its pretty great for getting up to speed on a track and learning it, just don't forget it won't teach yea racecraft and how to deal when you can't take the ideal line or hiw to drive around other cars, that's still the hard part imo. This just makes practice more streamlined and enjoyable. Im on the trial yet but i might use it for awhile, i think it might be one of the better ways to learn for someone like me who can get a bit directionless with what to practice and where i need to improve. Thanks for the video!
This is the second time this channel was offered to me in my feed and I really like the content. Especially this video introduced a new info to me so you have me (= like + subscribe). Thanks :)
I gave it a shot yesterday, same track but in the Pcup. I had raced it before but I was sliding all over the place in the Pcup. I really like it, its nice to have instant feed back from the telemetry trace and little nuggets of what you did wrong. I also went through some of the training camp section and there is mini games to help you build muscle memory for your brake foot. I'll end up using this in the future.
@@cpanic1153 Eh, minigames are nice to get a feel for what percentage youre at. If you're a seasoned racer sure, skip the mini games but if you're learning new pedals, it helps. Overlays are super nice though.
Good video. Ideally the game itself would offer training modes. Say, driving one corner or sequence in a loop, so you need not get back around to try again. Take the corner, complete the exit and zap back to the approach of same corner. A ghost car projected in front of your best effort for a section would be nice, with it going red for braking and green for throttle, or having a slider left to right making it very visible somehow. Multiple visualisations of the ghost can be considered. Even having the expert lap to copy. Seeing it brake, steer in and throttle, plus its line being left on the track. Imagine seeing the ghost car's yaw reflected through tire tracks, like in Trackmania when the car is sliding. Now if you are for instance a standard amount, 1 seconds or 0.5 seconds behind the ghost/expert approaching the corner, you could see throughout that you're losing/gaining, and where. It's of course possible to gain, but at what cost? The AI coach could encourage focusing on an early and clean exit because of the long full throttle sections after.
I have a difficult time tuning in to the voice, and when I do, it can be a little confusing as to what corner the AI is referring to sometimes. I use VR, and have had difficulty getting the overlays to show up in my headset. My problems can be resolved over time, but I am a bit frustrated with it at the moment.
Great video thank you. Would you overall recommend trying this or Virtual Racing School telemetry (you mentioned in previous video that we have 4 free hours per week to use the feature). Would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you
I tried it some months ago, and i found it usedull but with some bugs still. Seems it have improved a lot. Question Lorenzo: does it remember overlay position now, or so you have to set them every time? Thanks for you sharing!! ❤
I tested this back in the beta days, and my main problem was that using it for F1 23, there was no reference whatsoever to what i was been compared with in terms of setup. Therefore "you are breaking earlier/later" didnt make much sense if not with the same setup of application. Has that been somehow fixed / gapped?
Not sure why you say they only support fixed series? It will work with anything. You also shouldn’t change the reference lap, IMO, until you need one that’s faster than the default. Those laps are often goofy, setup dependent, or are race laps with other cars.
@@Mogzilla86 for now, the coach focuses on supported officials and only fixed setup ones. You can train tracks up to one week ahead from the current, and any week in the past season. So for example if your league race is GT3 at Road Atlanta, and GT3 fixed (officials) raced at RA in week 3, you could use that as reference. But that’s only if the official has already raced in that track. Still, you’d have the problem that you’d be comparing to a fixed setup race. Not sure if your league is running fixed setups
What about different conditions and cars variability? When I tested the beta version it was comparing against another model of car, also doesn't account for air temp or track conditions (like fast or even wet). This was acc. Turned me off personally.
Yes - the track conditions comparison is a bit limited. I compared using the variables shown in the video, but not all variables were known about the expert lap. This is why I would suggest to not get too focused on copying the expert lap exactly, but rather to use it as a reference to solidify your own driving.
There is! You need to log in, download the app, and you’ll be able to see the free tier. I was able to see it even without downloading the app, not sure why that’s changed now. Maybe it’s a regional thing
Can you delay the telemetry? So you aren't too focus on it while driving, and get the feedback after the turn. What I'm feeling(watching the vid) is the same as polishing a car, doing a pattern is good but when using a pattern, the mind isn't focused on "perfecting" the paint/whats happening to the paint.
This is a great point! From what I saw, I don’t think that is a possibility as of now. What helped me a lot was to look at the telemetry after the corner. It’s much easier that way to tell, at a glance, if I braked too late/too early/too much/too little and fix that in the next lap
I went to audio mixer on windows and turned iracing volume down to like 50%. Check your mixer too as your system might have turned trophi.ai down by default!

It has that feature, search active reset
This sounds right up my street. I'm at that point where it's becoming trickier to see where I'm losing time.
It is useful for that! Another tool I would highly recommend for that specific purpose is the Garage 61 telemetry analyzer. And that one is free!
the nice about is that it gives you kind „career mode“ 😃
True!
Interesting. I'll have to sign up and give this a try and see what it does for me.
A line on the track where you braked previously and where the expert braked would be nice, but the game needs to facilitate such development.
That would be awesome!
I think the best way to test this is to spend an hour learning a track on your own and see where u plateau.
Then use the AI to see if you improve.
I agree!
