  • A while back I had AC problems with my John Deere 4066R, so I decided to remove the roof and inspect for a repair. These steps should work on a John Deere 4044, 4052, 4066 and any 3 series cab tractors. If you need the blower motor in this video, it's in the amazon link below.

I've gotta 4720 that quit blowing cold but have been dreading taking the cab top off to clean it but you made it look completely doable and you are probably right on deep cleaning yearly because i have to blowout the condenser coils on the back at least once per hour while im brushhogging

    As a general rule, if the blower motor works on any speed, especially full speed, the motor is fine. If it doesn’t work on some settings then the resistor is bad. Resistor drops power to the motor for lower speed settings. Same basic issue in auto systems. If they sold the resistor/transistor separately then that could have saved you even more money. Glad it’s fixed!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So while you have the roof off next time. You know what dyna mat is. Put it on bottom of roof. Reflect that heat back out and those hot water lines running thru the air plenums. Get some shut off valves and install at engine block to cut off that hot water. You be surprised how much better the ac will work. I am in Texas and all the above helped a lot. And your right. Factory radio and speakers suck. Happy with my upgrades.

    • @TKCL

      No difference other then getting full force air back. These tractors don't have full air recirculation and that's a huge downside. Blow your front radiator and your rear in the roof AC condenser out. That's usually where lack of cooling is coming from

  • @tvance111

    Good job on this vid. As always. The I that you couldn't figure out on the blower motor housing, maybe it was for insulated. Such as the Foam that wasn't on the new one. For condensation and such. If this gives you issues. Maybe add 3M single sided sticky tape or a foam insulation used for campers and toppers between the truck bed and the campers/ toppers. Good luck...
    Also, i'm wanting to add a bluetooth radio in my 2007 GMC sierra 1500. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate the help. I need all i can get. It blew my mind trying to figure out all the options lol

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive got a couple of ideas from in mind for the blower if needed. My biggest concern was if it rattled, I'm happy to report it doesn't. I don't have specific part numbers for radios, but I use to sell Kenwood, JVC and Pioneer. I highly recommend any of those brands. If you don't need a CD player, look up "media players" in those brands. That will be a full fiction radio/Bluetooth player, minus the size, weight and potential problems of a CD mechanism. There are a bunch of junk brands out there too, I'd stick with name brand.
