Hello folks, Nate, Aaron and Bubbleboy. (I'm discovering you in 2024 & Dusty wasn't in this episode). I've just subscribed to your Nateland Podcast and love the immense talent in the room every week. Nate, I CAN'T WAIT to see you at the Hertz Arena in Fort Myers, FL this month. However, I wish you could have spent a few more minutes on the 1980 Olympic Hockey game between Russia and USA. Our country's morale coming out of the 1970s (Ep. #52) was at its darkest, but us winning this game between USA, a team of college students, and Russia, a well-oiled machine for decades, became the beacon of unity and hope for our country, proving hard work and perseverance will win over adversity and make dreams a reality. I was a proud American mom-to-be on that day in February, 1980. It was made into a feel-good movie Miracle (2004). 😂💙

My two year old daughter has started putting multiple words together to create sentences and recently has learned how to say “get out” but instead of saying “get out” it comes out “gout”. My wife and I laugh every time because it makes us think of Aaron.
We love the podcast! Listen on every trip and watch the episodes on TH-cam instead of movies at night. Thank you Nate, Aaron and Binky for the great clean humor. Keep it up!

Nate earns so much respect, such a smart guy. Love Aaron and Beefcakes but truth is, Nate rose to the top, with true grit integrity and he's NOT ashamed. He respects his co-comics, he's straight up, he's honorable in many ways. The reason people love him is he respects others and practices beliefs and ways that build integrity into people and communities/cultures. Things that made American families what afforded us the huge years we've had in history. Breaking down respect and honorable things will eventually distruct a people. Aaron has a little learning to do but on the right path sticking with these two guys. Beefcakes Brian is the bomb, what a faithful strength he is! Love it. Working my way through every podcast. Thx guys.

I wasn't on mute and I had to make some sort of annoying excuse like "sorry, I have issues with my audio". I don't think anybody believed me but it was all worth it because I stood up in support with my fellow Cutler apologists. Interceptions aren't so bad any way!

Yesterday I walked a mile to Dunkin’ Donuts and asked for a large iced coffee with cream and sugar. When the employee was just about to hand it to me he put a dome lid on top. I immediately thought to myself “there’s no way this is about to happen”. Luckily for me they were just out of large lids and only had the dome ones left. I absolutely would’ve Uber’d back home if he put whipped cream in my coffee.

Poor Billy Bob. I was 8 years old when you wore that New Kids on the Block shirt, and every boy in my elementary school knew it was not cool to like the New Kids. Nate, you definitely went all-out, grumpy old man, when you went off on movies, comic book movies, superheroes, etc., talking about how there aren’t any movies that are great stories any more…when comic book movies are LITERALLY movies based upon stories. Now, you might just not like those stories, but for a massive amount of people, comic books are incredible stories, filled with deep meaning, and huge layers of significance. Did you know the creation of x-men was actually inspired by the civil rights movement, and a commentary on Malcolm X’s mentality vs MLK’s?? These superhero movies are as story driven as it gets, just might not be your kind of stories. And I immediately know I’ll get made fun of, for how in depth I just went, trying to defend comic book movies. Love the podcast. Keep it up Nate, Aaron and Barley.

Nate was REAL this episode. It was refreshing having someone just call out the lazy state of affairs in modern Hollywood. I went to film school - one of those obnoxious cinephiles, ha - but Nate is proof that there's plenty people out there who see through mindless, soulless reboots and "universes" built more upon franchising than actually meaningful storytelling. The 80s had wonderful films w/ creative stories - The Princess Bride, The Goonies, Labyrinth, Willow, pretty much any John Candy movie, Raising Arizona. Film taste, like music, like everything, is subjective...so let us non-conformists be :D

Let’s GOOOO Folks! I couldn’t let this go for another episode. The reason you say, “The Eagles” and not “The Metallica” is because the word Eagles is a noun and Metallica is a made up word blending the words metal and vodka and came up with by Lars and James of the band. The word “The” is an article, which defines a noun. Hence “The Eagles” and just plain Metallica. Maybe college boy should have taken grammar instead of a Friendship class.

I have to agree with Nate. It is unbelievable McDonald’s pickles are starting to look like cucumbers. What’s next, their buns are gonna start looking like bread? Imagining Beach Body with his NKOTB shirt on in high school honestly made me think I would’ve been one of his best friends. I always tried to go out of my way to be nice to the weird nerdy kids that nobody wanted to be seen with. I’m not saying I would’ve hung out with the guy or even considered him one of my friends, I just think he would’ve considered me one of his best friends for talking to him. I was recently in Nashville for an event and ordered takeout sushi from a pretty nice place downtown. When I went to pick up my order, on the spur of the moment I said to the cashier, “The order will either be under Kevin Wright (my name) or Nate Bargatze.” Immediately, half a dozen people turned around and looked at me, and several started whispering and looking around the restaurant as if to see if Nate was in the building. I was genuinely surprised at how big a deal Nate seems to be in Nashville. We’ll done, sir!

Love the show fellas. Last ep Nate mentioned he was in a military movie mood. I am always watching military movies and shows. What you should check out if you haven't already is "Generation Kill". One season HBO series that I can watch over and over. Also if you aren't already, you need to get onto "Seal Team". Anyway, two more things. I meant to write after the plane crash episode because my step dad and best friend were in a plane that was going down over Ohio a few years back and didn't know they were on the same flight until they landed that would have been a devastating loss. Last but not least, when I first started listening to Nateland, I thought that Bubbles was Jack Mc Brayer from 30 rock. They sound so much alike. Again, Love the show guys and keep it up.

Steve never changed except he became more funny, and less upset with the world. The instance this reminds me of is when I watched him slowly go the opposite way, it was strange. The whole thing was strange, he's a very blessed dude, very nice kids, wife, dogs, horses cars you name it. I recommended Nate to he and his wife to watch today, hopefully they catch some netflix specials and not this.

I live pretty close to it, so when my husband and I first moved here we took a little field trip to go try it. The pizza is about what you’d expect - tastes a lot like cardboard but feels exciting to eat since it’s the only McDonald’s in the world that serves it. We tried to convince ourselves that it tasted better than it actually did. Let’s go together whenever y’all come here!

This is great! I just discovered this. I was looking for Nate's stand up and boom Nateland. I had the same McDonald's experience at the drive thru a few months ago. Now to binge the previous episodes!

Raiders of the Lost Ark was one of the more notable movies to establish the character through an initial action sequence, but the James Bond franchise was onto this way before.

You can call this episode the 1980’s if you’d like but in my mind it will be called “Nate’s 30 minute rant about the good ol days of cinema.” Thanks to Blanket for bringing us back with “Harrison Ford was #1.”

I understand Nate praising Daniel Day-Lewis for his career and the roles he picked considering the rant he was on. Then he went on to also say he liked Jason Statham who has been in four Fast and Furious movies plus a spin-off and Tom Hardy, who is a great actor, but is also part of the Marvel movie group since he plays Venom.

Not sure if y’all were watching, but The USA Men’s Gymnastics Team had a heavy dose of yelling “Let’s gooooooo” after their routines the other night. I couldn’t help but sit there and hope one of them was a fellow Folk and would slip in a “Let’s gooooo folks!” at the end of a routine. Unfortunately, none of them did. Maybe four years from now!

Nate said he is a word of mouth comedian, which is ironic since words are Nate's life long hardship. Either way, I still love the podcast. Big shout out to Nate, A A Ron and Break Room.

Nate, tell me your pilot didn’t get picked up without telling me your pilot didn’t get picked up… Nate then goes on 30 minute rant about how big budget movies have ruined storytelling in Hollywood…except Transformers and Harry Potter and Shia LaBeouf…

Nate talking about the new Transformers movie being your journey to see Transformers for the first time is hilarious, but could be done with people having just watched Fast and Furious.
How they all drove out of the lot like their cars were modified.

I died when Bromance revealed his New Kids on the Block T shirt. It’s not fair that it wasn’t cool for guys to like them, but he’s right, it wasn’t. My husband used to be a major secret fan of Justin Timberlake back in his NSYNC days. Luckily that one worked out for him. I tell all my friends to listen to y’all. Thanks for making me feel like I’m hanging out with you every time I listen to the podcast.

I wasn’t going to comment since this episode is old, but I didn’t see anybody correct the year of the challenger explosion, so I thought I’d throw my 2 cents in. It happens on Jan 28th, 1986, not 1985. It happened the literal day I was born. Anyway love the podcast fellas, you always bring it

Let's Go Folks! I've had the same conversation about the originality of movies with my father. I say movies have never been original because they almost always come from books, plays, or even video games. I can only list a handful of completely original screenplays.

I didn’t understand why Breakfast became a comedian. He was working in news went to college, seems like a normal guy. The more stories he tells about his past the more it all makes sense. The embarrassment, and agony he went through, I’m shocked he appears as normal as he does.
