      Put plenty of glue around the screws to take the strain off of them or they will crack the fiberglass

    I didn't realise that we hadn't videoed that. They were a really good fit, I think that you just had to Dremal a couple of bits off the end, it was a while ago now lol

    Thanks Paul for that. I like the GT3 look. I saw a vlog where they used a 3M double sided tape. I don't know how long lasting it would be.
    Still can't find time to fit the Circuit Werks Cat delete pipes on. Hopefully early July when I am back from my family holiday in Malaysia.
    Keep the good work up mate.😊

    Greetings, mr. Paul! I got a GT3 front bumper for my 986S 2001, painted it, but when it came time to install a new GT3 front bumper I understood it doesnt want to fit my front bumper location... how did you fix you GT3 bumper? was there some moments that I missed? thank You!

    • @Paul1962
      @Paul1962  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, mine is an aftermarket bumper designed to fit the 986 also it is just the outer skin, all internal parts are from the old bumper.

    Paul,need ur advice. Purchased a front bumper see plitter....it's a fiberglass reinforced plastic so company I got it from says.anyway more fiberglass than plastic,but piece is thin and very playable. My question do u think I could be successful in using that serious stuff glue to bond this piece to my bumper....I don't want to use any screws along the front at all wheel arches yup. What do u think friend?
    Help me here....thx and good day

      @Paul1962  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marco, fiberglass is indeed tricky stuff to work with. I would definitely use the glue, make sure you use the flexible type. screws and/or pop rivets are fine to hole the panel in place while the glue sets, but the fiberglass will crack around them in the long term due to the stress and vibrations. Here is a link for the glue I use. ebay.to/2YCL2EH

    would gt3 18inc alloys fit my 04 986 boxer. if so are spacers need. thanks paul

      @Paul1962  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stephen, I'm not to sure on this one, 18" will fit on the boxster and I believe the stud patterns are the same, what you need to check out is the off set remembering that most Porsche are a staggered fitment {the off set is different for front and back} I order mine specifically for the boxster, 19" and if I remember right 10J at the rear and 9J at the front you need to watch you tyre width on the front, anything over than 235 tend to rub the plastic liners on full lock

    hi paul
    when you say cow on mechanical front ..you mean things going wrong with it ..or mods you are doing ..
    i was very interested in getting a boxster last year ..thats how i found your channel..
    the buying the car bit would be the easy part ..its the price of keeping it on the road slightly put me off ..having said that i like the boxster that much i could just jump in ..

    • @Paul1962
      @Paul1962  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its be a cow for things going wrong, the last 3 years have been mostly preventive maintenance, in fairness the car was in one hell of a mess when I got it, it had pretty much been driven in to the ground. keeping it on the road was a big concern for me, a lot of my friends felt I may have bitten off more than I could chew. but they are reasonably strait forward to work on and if you shop around and are prepared to use after market and second hand parts from time to time they are affordable.
