@@ronbenoza6665 the paint container shows you how much paint, its is basically a measuring cup. Once your paint is in, I add 10% water to whatever amount is in the container. Thick paint I add up to 25% water. It isnt always required with the homeright, but definitely makes a smoother spray i feel.

Can you please tell me what setting you had it on? I had mine dialed about half way and it ran like crazy. Now I have to sand the cabinet boxes down and start over. I'm pretty bummed.

I really wanted a sprayer to repaint my kitchen cabinets as well as my bedroom furniture. However I felt very intimidated about using either one of them because I really didn’t want to mess up my items. After watching your review, demo on this Home Right Paint Sprayer, I was sold!! Yes, I purchased it and learned how to use and clean it within 5 minutes. The same day I was able to put 3 coats one ALL of my cabinet doors, front and back. The next day I did 3 coats of Polycrylic. Last, thanks to you, I went back and purchased 2 more Home Right paint sprayer, one for my mom and one for my best friend, and I forwarded them YOUR video review. I also purchased the Wagner Large tent to use for spraying my bedroom furniture. I do hope Home Right compensates you in some way fir the purchases.

nice vid. i recently bought one and used it to paint my kitchen cabinets. it worked perfectly and i sprayed it without any thinning. used paint strainers. it just takes a little time to get it adjusted and when you do it rocks. remember it only works as good as the last time it was cleaned so make sure you clean it up. i sprayed a light coating of wd40 on the sprayer and the paint didn't stick to it.
I've used this thing on 2 projects and in both cases I was underwhelmed. It's my first paint sprayer and although it was faster than using a paint brush, the final results were... meh. Your tips on how much to dilute the paint and mixing it for a full minute made ALL the difference in my current project. I'm so glad I found this video, thank you!

Have a second container and a second person filling up the container every time you run out. You would blow through this container in no time flat using it on a big project like a fence. Did you use it?
@@lisao3041 no I didn't buy a sprayer after all. Waited too long until it was too hot to be outside. After hurricane Ida the fence is last on the list. At least it's still standing!

I just bought this to paint a Jenny Lind baby crib and I'm worried sick about doing a good job. (Yes, I'm using baby safe paint) All those spindles have me extra worried. My main concern is getting runs when trying to hit all the angles on the spindles. Guess we'll see tomorrow.

I just bought the Homeright Super Finish Max and use it to paint my newly built plywood cabinets. I used a combination of primer and paint gloss, but the surface, after drying, is very rough. I sanded it with a 220 grit and a lot of sand-like particles was removed. Have you ever experienced the same problem? What do you think is the solution? Thank you in advance for any inputs!
I have never used such products so I wouldn't be much help. My only suggestion is to always test the products before to see what the finish will look and feel like, you never know. I think you can always use an electric sander with somewhat high grit sandpaper, like 250-400, to get things smooth again. Then you can determine the best way of application. Maybe a different mixture or even a totally different product will provide better results. Feel free to reach out to a professional cabinet painter for their opinion on products. Good luck!

Hi Sharon, I mentioned this in my latest sprayer comparison video but Blue is for thin spraying for poly, green is regular painting, and red is for thick primers and paints.

I want to try the super finish gun on a few walls for stenciling, and plasticing and taping a whole room is sounding daunting. how messy is the floor around the furniture, and did you arms get sprayed, etc. thanks~
Hi Gemma, thanks for watching btw! and most spray guns I have used for furniture make my garage a little cloudy, but it doesn't impact the furniture I am painting. The floors get dusty and slippery from the poly overspray so if I were painting inside I would lay a cheap dollar store plastic drop cloth, only like $1.50 each. You can even use them to cover existing items in the room and I wouldn't say it would take too long. Green tape and a bit of work but your painted finish would be smooth from the gun. But you could just use a roller or brush and still get the job done. Hopefully this helps a bit :)
Either is a great option, but I find overall the Homeright sprays water-based poly better without as much error. Practice is what makes these spray guns best, add the right amount of water, and your good to go!
I love that sprayer. You did a great job. I have a question, have you painted MDF furniture? If you did, how did it turn out? I have a table made from MDF with raised water rings. I'd love to sand and paint it. Also, have you tried stencils or decoupaging fabric or paper on furniture? Keep up the great videos! Love them!
@@regeniawilliams1832 the best sprayer would probably be a sprayer that hooks up to an air compressor. Results would probably be more professional but it depends what you are going for i guess.
I just bought this sprayer and filled it with water to test it but nothing came out of the sprayer needle. Air blows out of the needle but no water. How to make it work? I even turned the knob on the sprayer to both + and - but still no luck.

glad it was helpful! It definitely takes some practice to get that pro finish. But it's worth it in the end!

I usually do not clean between coats, only if it is late and I am going to sleep before applying the next coat, or I have to do something else!

brand new can it isn't as important, but really you do not want anything getting clogged or it will ruin your spraying experience and results.

It is water based poly so just use warm water and spray it through the gun. I use the brush and clean throughout too!

If I am using Oil Based paint, is it OK / recommended to fill the sprayer with Paint Thinner instead of water when I'm done to clean it?
I never use oil based products in my sprayers, but I would believe paint thinner would be fine. Mineral spirits would also do the trick.

Is it ok if you can use conversion varnish products and clean it with lacquer thinner
I never have, but it shouldn't be a problem!
I have this sprayer, but I haven't tried the polycrylic. Did you switch tips for the top coat, or stay with the green tip?
I stay with the green for both paint and poly!
Was that a water based paint or an oil based paint that you used for this project?
Water, I never use oil-based paints outside of a spray can.

I just bought this sprayer and filled it with water to test it but nothing came out of the sprayer needle. Air blows out of the needle but no water. How to make it work? I even turned the knob on the sprayer to both + and - but still no luck.

What brand and color paint did you use?
How much time did you wait between each Painting coats and the how much time did you wait between each Poly-acrylic coats?
usually i wait until its dry to touch, however the products give recommended coat times that you can follow!
Do you ever spray chalk paint with that sprayer? If so do you have a vid link?
I haven't sprayed chalk paint yet, maybe I will give that a go soon!
