@@BikeReviewcomau all good Jeff, just thought I’d mention as some viewers like to hear the note of the bike as well. I hear the Ducati Monster LAMS version sounds nothing like the “Ducati” 😉 not sure if this will help but maybe stick a GoPro right next to exhaust, get a lower to ground forward or back view with bike sound maybe?
I haven't ridden the current generation Triumph Street Triple 660, but when I tested the last generation Monster 659 against the Street Triple 660 back to back in 2015 it mainly came down to personal preference. Both were great, with the Monster feeling a little more refined and the Triple a little more 'off its chops'. Whether you prefer that twin or the triple is another big aspect. I don't think you can go wrong with either, so having a sit and a test ride on each, to see what suits you is the best bet!
We haven't tested the new 2018 SV650, which is meant to be much improved, but the LAMS Monster 659 has significantly more power than the 2017 LAMS SV650 we have tested and the difference in price was very much reflected in specifications and performance, even though both claimed very similar horsepower. The SV650 is good value though, while style is largely subjective. The 659 is definitely aimed at those who like the Ducati Monster family.
I have looked at the Suzuki but don’t agree with you. The Ducati costs more to purchase but that does not make the cost of ownership cheaper. The specifications easily justify that extra purchase price.
BikeReview.com.au sorry I might be wrong about how much cc it potentially got. But it is true that it won’t rev over 5500-6000, especially when I am on Highway, I can only do around 135km/h with 6000rpm, and the bike won’t go beyond that .
The whole idea of lams bikes is to keep you safe ,thats why they are restricted, in time you will gain more skill ,and have the ability to go a bit faster ....congratulations to Ducati for making such a great machine with learners in mind..

Don’t get to hear it? Cool.
Wow, seeing the old road so empty back then is wild compared to how packed it is now 🤯
Nice vid but can I suggest you lower music volume and bring in bike sound when cruising the road shot
Hi Cam! Sorry, sometimes I've run the music due to bad wind noise... trying to get better gear! Jeff.

I came to listen to the bike and your comments so why the ridiculous music ? Do you have that playing while your ride ?
Ducati monster 659 2021 or yamaha mt07? Asking as a learner
Overall good vid but I found the music and it's volume very distracting.
Thanks for the feedback Damian, we'll try and get the balance better next time!
How many second 0-100km?
You sound like my teacher when I did my bike licence course 😂
Ducati 659 or Triumph 659?

Grate video ♥️😎🇦🇺
I recommend the 2018 SV650 instead. WAY cheaper, learner legal, more power, even looks better, IMO.

SVs are always good, but the swingarm, forks and rear shock are probably from a povo pack parts bin. Thats the difference.
Not a good choice, rpm has been locked at 5500, makes it become a low rpm bike, it actually has a 797 cc engine in fact.
No, this is a 659cc version to stay within Australian LAMS restrictions. You're talking about an entirely different machine.
