I have one and it's a great little bike , handles very well , I have ridden the mt07 and the cb650f they are all so different, the mt has a lot more instant tourqe but it's light and does not hold the road like the monster , the cb felt heavy and not as powerful as the mt or the ducati, but super smooth and planted and the gear box on the Honda is so smooth, the monster does not like the low revs it comes out to play after 4thou , I also have the termi pipe and sounds insane and loves to pop on the down shift , only bad thing about the monster is the bloody gear box, and no fuel gage , otherwise absoulotly great bike
I didnt mind the monster gearbox but yeah there are others with far crisper ones. The fuel guage is more one of those things you miss once you've had it, you get good at guessing off the trip meter
Great video. I have just got my learners and had just about settled on a far different bike, more a cruiser, a Honda rebel cmx 500. This has now thrown a spanner in the works lol. Can I ask how tall you are? I am 172cm and don’t really want to be on my tippy toes when stoped. Would the Ducati be a far better bike than the rebel? Thanks for the info.
Mate, go the rebel, they don't make this anymore. But if this tickled your fancy, one I do wana try is the CB650R, I've ridden that motor but not the naked version, check the other videos
I want to get my motorbike license and this is the bike that I have been ogling online ever since I started thinking about doing it lol. I guess I need to learn and then get my license and then might start seeing you on the welly roads
Mate its one of those things you'd wish you'd done ages ago but this is an awesome bike to start on, as soon as you get it, do the ride forever bronze course, like within the first few rides. it'l get you so much skill and confidence right away then you can really enjoy that bike!
Rode one yesterday. Was surprised how underwhelming it was. Not a beginner rider, but it takes a bit to wind up. Not sure if it was because it was lams or not. Heaps different from an mt07
I would expect if it was underwhelming then it would have been the lams, you'll see about half way in theres a full wind up from 0-100ish , its not super fast by any stretch but yeah, lams
Hi, I am looking to get my first bike as a learner. Can't decide between this Ducati Monster 659 or the Yamaha FZ6R. which one would u say is a better choice mechanically and aesthetically? I will be using it on daily basis and riding a lot on highways. OR would you recommend any other bike?
both on the to do list, I very nearly bought the XSR as my learner bike but ya know, went the harley way - I was supposed to do the CB650R but it sold on my way there, I'm fairly confident that will be my fav naked sports
@@TheEmpireMediaGroup hey Nick, so I ended up buying the MT07 as my first Lams bike. If you find yourself in ChCh and want to take it for a run let me know. Cheers for your reviews mate 😁
@@simonnathan2476 oh very nice! i doubt i'll make it down there anytime soon but i'll be sure to get my hands on one asap and bang up a video! whats your thoughts on it??
@@TheEmpireMediaGroup So far its fantastic. 1200 km in the first 7 days. It’s really quite nimble but still has enough power to have fun if you want. Having not been on a bike for 20years it could certainly do with a more comfortable seat but I’m sure ill get used to it.
Really not a lot, a pipe to hear it and a slightly more MX / agressive bar ( slightly wider) would really do it, if anything maybe swap out the mirrors for something smaller on the bar ends, it really didnt need a lot to be awesome

It'd have to be a gnarly storm

The ducati isn't available here anymore, Are you in New Zealand? for similar I'd say an MT07 from yamaha or maybe a Z650 from Kawasaki
Great review mate, Would be keen to see your opinion of the Yamaha MT-07 and Honda CB650R as your a good tall bugga like me.

hey man does this bike have quickshifter?
It didnt have a quickshifter, but depending where you are, its not available anymore. Certainly isn't in NZ
apart from adjusting the handlebars what exhaust would you put on?
