- Dobyn's Champion EXTREME HP is a great rod that is very versatile and can detect a fish's breath from a mile away! But... Is it WORTh the $$ ? I swear this is the most sensitive rod that I own and it has a strong backbone. I know Dobyn's rods are not cheap, but if you are able to hold one or give one a try, you won't regret it. The DX series is great for flippin, heavy jigs, and the carolina Rig. It can be even used for topwater lures, but I have yet to try that out. Check the video out and let me know what you think!

The DX 745c and 20 metanium is my favorite combo and very versatile. I throw jigs, swimbaits, chatterbaits, Texas rigs, 6 and 7 inch senkos, frogs, and buzzbaits.
Great break down bud!!..you are going to love that rod!!!..amazing setup!!👊
It's a sick rod. Tried it out with Floro on the DC and I knew I had to switch to braid. I can't wait to start flippin this summer. I just made another big boy purchase, I'll reveal it soon :)
Another great review man. Looking forward to hearing how it performs through the season.
Richard Smith Thanks Richard. Tried it out the other day and honestly this is the one Rod I’m the proudest of for throwing heavy jigs. I know you like Kistler Rods, I promise that’s next on my list.
Thats an amazing rod, heard great things, good video!
It's a great rod and honestly it's the most sensitive rod I've ever owned. If you can get it at 40% off, it's a steal.
I’ve been looking at these rods, I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while and I like that it’s family owned
Absolutely. I am not sure if you are part of Facebook, however, there's a great group on there called "Dobyns Rods Community". Gary (the owner) and along with his staff are part of it and consistently answer questions about their products. It's a real useful group with a lot of knowledgeable people.
Great vid man. I’m thinkin about getting some diawa rods with this stimulus check
South Side Fishing Thanks dude. I was eyeing a Daiwa Tatula Elite Glass rod for a while until I got these. Heard good things about them.
Also that 745 is a monster at pitching 3/16 oz creature baits
3/16? I have not tried that out yet.. but I think you might be onto something. How do you like the DX704?
@@Bowhunt I love my 704 for close quarters pitching. Typically has an 1/8 oz weight on it and 12 pound abrazx
If you like the 745 you would be amazed at 746. For some reason it's more sensitive. I have dx 704, 745, 746, and 795flip
I am looking at a 795 flip next and a spinning set-up for finesse baits. I really like the DX model.
Is it ok to use 1/2 oz jigs with the 746?
Got that right.
So I currently only own a furry and a sierra for dobyns rods . how big of a difference is it in sensitivity compared to those ?
I own a few Sierra's, but no Fury's. I can attest that if you want something really nice for bottom contact fishing.. this is it. Don't get me wrong, I love my Sierra's, but the Extreme HP for sensitivity is on another level.
@@Bowhunt i took your word the day you had replied to me . i seen your reply and bought it to see for myself . i got a deal on a 774 champion extreme hp and bought it . i wanted to reply back after using the rod it was frozen for while here and i couldn’t test it . I can definitely assure you that you’re 100 percent right . i was throwing a 1/16 ounce jig for small mouth bass on a 744 and it felt like a high end spinning rod , as well as throwing a senko with no weight . i can’t believe how sensitivity these rods are , going to moving up to the xtasy series now . i just want to see how much more sensitivity dobyns gets. the tip on these rods just makes them so special.
I’m looking for a 3/8 ounce bubba shotting rod for the delta and a 3/8 to half ounce rod for a football jig I heard the 745 is more sensitive than the 744 so I don’t know witch one
744 is perfect for 3/8 oz. However, if you are going 1/2 or higher, definitely go with the 745. I even punch mats for bass with 1oz T-Rigs on my 745 and I can crank them right out of there.
Thanks for the video...about halfway through it I ordered this very rod 👍🏻 oh, I hate to be ‘’that guy’’ but it’s DAH-bins 😁
I love this rod.. it’s extremely sensitive. Did you get it already? Hahaha I knew it! Thanks for the heads up.
The only problem with this rod is that now every other rod I pick up feels like crap lol
The DX model is amazing. I own a couple Sierra's as well, and it's a big difference.
Champion Extreme is very sensitivity?
I love my dobyns fury rod
CabinOutdoors that’s a great rod. Have you heard of their new series that they’ve been keeping on the down-low? It’s called Kaden.
In Full Chase I have not
CabinOutdoors I hear they are great!
I've got a Kaden 715 😁😁
What i wanna know is where is the april box opening??? dont keep us in suspense now mr...
Just came in today.. hope you're ready. I have so many lures, I will soon be sleeping with my lures instead of the old lady.
Good review. Those look like nice rods. Why no titanium guides though? Are they made in America? I am only going to buy American made rods from now on. Eff China. 👍
Peeling Line I believe the next model over this one has titanium guides. They are made in Korea & China from what I understand. It’s a great rod and great company, I wish they were made in the US as well.
In Full Chase I wish the same damn thing especially for a rod over 300. Check out castaway...made in Houston. Dobyns is in north east Texas.
@@Jcestanley Thanks. Will do.
