CG Geek I actually really appreciate the blender/CG related sponsorships, I think it's a really healthy thing for you as a creator and the industry in general, as it'll expand their consumer base and stuff. Anyway, I'd just like to say, way to go with that tutorial, and I (and hopefully most veiwers) totally approve of the sponsorship. Well done sir!
Of course, I made a part of the Las Ventas bullring 14 years ago, I modeled in 2 weeks and the render went to 2 months. Now it would be less time to render, I think.
Lourdess CG hi If i want to make a animation , how i can render , i can not wait for a months. Is there a solve for this . The whole software is same speed render , or just blender slow.

Dear CG, with the coming of 2.8 this would be an ideal moment to make this into a full tutorial. I know there are a lot of fans that are looking out for this. I don't do this often, but... PLEASE!
I like this format really much. It's very comprehensive but still easy to follow. Maybe it's a bit difficult for total beginners but over all it helps more advanced users to create the scene with no need to waste a lot of time by watching complete tutorials.
I like this style of tutorial. I personally don't want to create a castle myself, but I get a lot out of watching it because you get to go through all the thinking process around creating something like this. You see different ways of doing things and maybe learn a few tricks, and you get reminded about techniques that you haven't used much or haven't used in a while. Using blender is a lot of thinking "how do i create this?" and watching tutorials like this is one of the best ways to get better at answering this question.
The last time I watched this tutorial was when I had found out about blender but it was so formidable and complicated. So I deleted it and waited like 6 months. Then quarantine started and I decided to learn something new. So I watched a bunch of tutorials and now I’m steadily learning my way around the software. This tutorial really inspired me.

Now that I'm watching it, I really like this new format, it's great to get it all quick like this. Couldn't help but notice that the shading on the towers and pillars is messed up though. I am new to Blender and I'm excited to be able to create the scenes and the objects and sequences that I create in my mind. This video tutorial was quite good. At first, some of my thoughts were along the lines of some of the comments expressed here. But I can go back and listen and follow along whenever I want to and at a speed that is a little more appropriate for my pace of learning. I can reduce the speed to .5 or so go thru it again. No need to get all bent out of shape and unsubscribe as someone did here. For that person, he will not benefit from anything uploaded by Steve. He is losing out in the long run from this Blender instructor who has a lot to offer.
If you are using the evee beta, I would suggest taking a cube, taking the faces off then subdividing the base for the castle towers, and pillars. Warning though if you do it this way you have to start in edit mode, then raise the cube up 1. you then go back into objects delete all your faces but the bottom, and then use the subdividing modifier. this is to prevent you from getting an uneven octagon because it relies on the origin point to do it. If it is off center it will give you a misshaped octagon.
This video has really helped me because this is the stage I’m feeling like is a tiny bit beyond my knowledge currently, so it is something that is a bit outside my comfort zone and I can learn quite easily, but if your knew to blender I would recommend watching beginner tutorials that give you the basics first. King's Landing, is you?
You sir are quite the car salesman!
Very useful tutorial about compositing a landscape scene. I was looking for something like that for a long time! Thank you!
You make it look so easy.
With respect for all you have done to learn this program and create this channel, I'm having a hard time following without getting lost. The narrative is very fast. I get lost trying to follow the rapid cursor movement across the screen. I have difficulty following the logic of where to click and why click there. This is an issue I have with so many software tutorial videos. Please understand, I appreciate your knowledge and skills. I just learn at a slower, more methodical pace. Thank you for sharing.
That's why Blender Guru is so good.
Gonna have to try that out...
Amazing 🔥
