“SECRET” Recipe Makes FISH COLORS POP!

- How to get your aquarium fish to color up if they need a COLOR BOOST. It’s not really a secret recipe, but I feel like it is because I never hear anyone talk about this stuff. Three helpful tips including a tip on special color boost food that I used on my African cichlids. Since then many of the cichlids in my African cichlid tank have shown considerable color enhancement. If you want your tropical fish tank to look beautiful, then you need to watch this video! I also respond to a few viewer suggestions from my last video before I get to the color boost tips.

Aw thanks for the shoutout, that's sweet you like the name "Boris", I really think fish coloring has a lot to do with what is fed to them, water conditions, and how happy they are in the tank if you get picked on by a jerk bye bye coloring, if you are the jerk your coloring is studly. You got a good group of boys !! I’m still working on my Africans ! I got a couple beautiful psychos that I’m trying to catch my breath on . They may have to be re home. Of ours there peacocks 🥴🥴. I may remove some and order a 3-5 group of male haps . Maybe even just overwhelm the tank with haps . Some of my peacocks are peaceful but some keep me up at night 😂

I was the same with flake. Hated the cloudy water. Then I discovered Origin Fish Foods here in the UK. Bought 2 sample packs of their Cichlid flakes. No cloud. Fish love it. One is actually Extreme Krill. Pink as expected. If you’re in the UK I recommend their foods

I currently use TDO food .. I do notice a slightly change in color .. my mylochromis mchuse does change from orange to red

So I just tried to buy the TDO chroma boost and there is about a biziilion different variations. Which one did you use?
I forgot about that -- I had to look through a bazillion of them and was very confused. I bought 16 oz Large TDO-EP2 Chroma BOOST - Reef Nutrition. Works great.
Does substrate colour affect the colour of the fish?
Sure does. Light colored substrate enhances some fish, and dark others.
I wonder if your red fin borleyi went up in the pecking order. I have a german red that was getting bullied up until recently, and he became way more colored as he has now become one of the 3 bullies in my tank🤦🤦🤦
That’ll certainly do it! Boris has not made any obvious advancements in the hierarchy. It is possible, but it would be a strange coincidence with my food change timing. I also noticed changes in the ruby red and Taiwan reef, although not as prominent

Yeah, I hear ya on sellers that won’t overnight ship, found this guy with him holding this platinum OB saying it’s the actual fish, the with a Z-rock each with $29 two day shipping, said if you buy two he can combine them and save the buyer money, I just ask if he would overnight them and keep the left over money, he refused and told me how he’d been doing this for years and knows what he’s doing, I assume he will be mailing them out this comin Monday but the next day there were the same pics of the same fish saying this is the actual fish you are buying only two left, so I’m hoping for the best but won’t be doing that again regardless the outcome
