- Hello friends!
I cannot tell you how excited I am that Tristan and Kyra are coming for a 6 day long visit! They will be the first to see our new house. They will being seeing before we have started and completed anything really. So they are seeing it pretty raw just minus the mold! Haha!!! We did some touring around and checked out a few lighthouses including the famous Peggy's Cove Lighthouse! All the great places we went were really nice but I think my favourite part of their visit was just them being in the house. Seeing them on the couch when I passed by to go to the kitchen or hearing Matt and Tristan laugh around the bonfire. Having some girl talk with Kyra was much needed!!! The week was perfect and so was the weather. We can;t wait for them to come back. I don't think we were ready for how hard it was going to be saying goodbye to them. Both Matt and I were crushed for days after dropping them off at the Halifax Airport! The house feels empty without them even though they were only here about a week. Moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia has been a roller coaster of emotions..... both good and not so good. Matt and I are a good team that support one another daily and with just about everything we do. I don't think I would have lasted a minute here if it wasn't for Matt! That being said I do love it here and I have yet to see an area that I like more then the one we have chosen to call home. Lots of home improvements will be happening in the next few weeks and we have my parents coming to visit very soon. Thank you once again for hanging out with me and taking the time to send me messages. I really appreciate you showing up like that!!

So nice that you had a good week with your son and his girlfriend. I understand the emotions at both ends, coming and leaving. It's so very hard being away from them. Its good that you have the option to return closer again one day if you decide thats what is best. You never know when where the kids will end up living once they get settled, maybe they will come to the east coast.
We had the best week with them!!!
But you are right very emotional and super hard to be away from them! I would love if they all moved out here. I could maybe see my son giving it a try but I'm not so sure about my daughter. She might stick to visits for now. I don't blame it's not for everyone out here.

Such a hard thing to deal with especially when you love your kids so much. It will get easier and summer goes by so quickly it will be September before you know it. Good reason to keep yourselves busy.

Hi again, highest tides in the world, water rafting, check out Cape d'or lighthouse (there is an eatery there in summer but call ahead), Cape Chignecto park, fossils at Joggins. So much to see. Not to forget the little shops, etc. Have fun!

All packaged food should be in containers...that helps keep the mice away. So much to see in Nova Scotia. You need to go along the Minas Basin and Parrsboro Shore.
Very good tip! We will be putting every prepackaged food item in a container for sure!!!
Hmmmmm I will have to look into the places you have suggested I haven't heard of them. What is there to see if we went?
