I think living in a LOG home you will have the bugs to deal with. They love wood. Termites also. The good with the bad thing. You can probably get it under control but will have to treat your place professionally on a regular basis to control them coming back.

Google Cooking a Lobster. The way I do it if it's LIVE I boil it and if it's cooked and you get it cold I steam it.

Hello first you need to look for rotten wood thats what they eat rotten wood.. if you can get a medical stethoscope if you use it on the walls you will hear them. in the walls. It will be okay you guys are doing great one project at a time lol okay maybe three projects lol. They can be in the window frames, hope that helps

Feel your ant pain. We had a terrible time with carpenter ants coming into our house from one of the maple trees on our boulevard. We sprayed the tree 3-4 times a summer with Ant be gone. You can get it at Canadian Tire. A couple of years ago the tree came down in a wind storm. It was so rotted on the one side couldn’t believe it. As soon as the hot weather started they were out in full force. You have to stay on top of it. You will figure it out.

Hire you a someone to spray for ants ,and anything little pet. Ant them what you need to do .

I would much rather live in Nova Scotia than Ontario for sure! I love New England states especially Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. If you get a chance get cold water lobster there. It will change your life! Maine Lobster is my favorite.

Be careful the red tiles look like they are from the 40's and/or 50's. That type of flooring usually has asbestos in it. Just put new flooring over the top of it. Do not remove it without checking with professionals first. Asbestos is worse than mold for you and your pets.
