You broke both yokes. DON'T - DON'T EVER screw the corkscrew entirely through the cork. You get floaters in the wine. Just screw it 2/3 into the cork, and then pull on it. "Squeeze the side of the HOLDER", not the corkscrew.
When it talks about anti clockwise, it’s meaning after you’ve removed the cork from the bottle, you go anti clockwise to remove it from the holder in your hands. 🤣😂
The scary looking knife is actually brilliant. I've got two immune conditions 1 attacks joints, skin, kidney's the other primarily muscles so I have joint pain & muscle weakness that often leads to my hands really hurting, going numb and difficulty working with standard cooking tools. I also have to lean a lot due to severe back pain so being able to hold a knife with a different grip would also allow me to use my elbow to balance & take pressure off my lower back.
Agreed! I had to get elbow pads because I kept giving myself bursitis from leaning on my elbows. (I joke about changing my name to Eileen, buh-dump-bump! 😁) That knife could make up for the leverage lost while resting on one arm.
My Mums had a set of those Knives for a good few years now due to Arthitis in her hands and wrists and they do genuinely help when do a lot of cutting, plus you feel like a Kitchen Ninja whenever you pick them up.
Barry, I love that you’re not afraid to post the user error scenes - and can poke fun at yourself! Your attitude is a big part of why I watch EVERY video you post!
Barry not understanding the wine cork removal instructions is like explaining to your gran how to press 4 buttons on a mobile phone to get thier photo's
I know. I was literally almost yelling at my screen like "You are right there! It said hold it and just give it another turn or two and it's out!!!" 😂 Sometimes I really think he does that for entertainment purposes lol
I'd get one of those ice trays that make cylindrical ice cubes for going into water bottles & put some into the rolling pin with a bit of water. Also thank you for telling me how I ruined my Marie Calendars ready made pie crust. Apparently I wasn't supposed to leave it out while I mixed up my pecan pies.
Thanks for testing the handled knife! Not sure if I commented asking you to test it but I definitely was wondering how well it worked. Excited to get my own now.
I want that knife! I bet this is truly helpful for people with hand issues and arthritis. I think also for people like me, it may help me have less accidents in the kitchen as well.
I allows the wrist to stay in a neutral position, where you can create the most power and put the least amount off strain on the joints. With a classic knife, one off the issues is that you have to move you pinky towards your arm, pinching the joints on that side.
My mum have several of those knives, and when I moved out on my own (over 20 years ago) she got me a bread knife like that. I find it much easier to slice bread eavenly with that as I feel more in control of pressure and direction. Highly recommended!
I really appreciate these gadget videos, I have a love for cooking but have had surgery on my left wrist and frequently injury my right wrist. My hands swell, burn, and hurt at times. Finding gadgets to make experiments in the kitchen easier, I thank you 😊
The albumen of the egg breaks down more slowly when the eggs are refrigerated. This makes your eggs stand more proud, and helps keep the yolk from accidentally breaking. Eggs kept on the counter will age quicker, and the albumen will get thinner, faster. Get yourself the Eggcyclopedia. You'll learn a lot.
Thanks for reviewing the knife! I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome and it causes issues with my hands, I will need one of these at some point in the future so it’s great to see one in action first (they’re not cheap!) 👍
I've got the Chef'n'Go garlic chopper. I start off with 2 cloves of garlic then when they're minced I add in another 2 or 3 as the recipe calls for. Brilliant little gadget and what I like about it is you can prepare the garlic in advance, leave it in the gadget and it won't dry out. It's easy to clean too as it comes apart but be careful of the blades they are very sharp. You can leave the blades in and it rinses out easily under the tap. To dry it I just open up the "wings" and leave it upside down on the draining board.
Mrs B reminds of my mum so much! She always used to throw out things that seemed unnecessary to her or have "gone bad" even though they haven't. Like my super expensive green tea that my aunt brought from China. I quote "It smelled like leaves. Why would you want to drink that?!" 🙃
Thank you so much for including more disability friendly gadgets. As for the pen at the end, I'd like to know if it comes off in your hand while drinking, especially if you've spilt something or extra sweaty so hands aren't perfectly dry to mimick how one might be after a few glasses.
For the cork thingie... You need to screw it into the cork, pull the last bit out, and THEN (after the wine bottle is opened) you are left with the cork, jammed in... to remove it squeeze, and turn anti clockwise. I'm going to continue the video now, to see if you eventually got there :p
I love that knife. I use a wheelchair, so most counters are a bit higher to me. As a result, holding a knife in the conventional way doesn't give me much leverage. I usually hold them underhand, which is only marginally better, but a knife like that would definitely fix the problem. I'm going to have to pick one up. Thanks for making me aware of it.

I love the Garlic zoom. Mine broke a couple of years ago, but it seems Dollar Tree in the States is now carrying them. For my sore hands, it works better than the standard squeeze-type garlic press.
A fresh egg will have a thicker white. The older they get, the thinner the white becomes, which is why when making cakes you’ll get better result with a fresh egg.

We have that garliczoom one and use it allllll the time! We love it! It takes me so long to chop things up and using this takes me about 30 seconds - probably less actually! I also have a thin, round, floppy, small plate sized piece of rubber (stay with me now lol) that I use to open lids and it works 100% of the time! I've had it almost 16 years now and it works uh-mazing! It cost me $0 cause I got it when I helped my dad hand them out at his work booth at a local summer festival back when I was still in high-school.

I have a (insert famous plastic party plan brand name here) rolling pin, 30+ years old, that can be filled with cold water to keep pastry chilled as you roll it. And it works.
The rolling pin is a reboot, my mum had one from Pyrex, it was glass had 2 caps on either end, you filled it with ice to do exactly the same as the metal one did, did not sprinkle flour, so thats the extra.
Gives us an update on the spoon in the wine thing; does that actually work? Back in the 1940's my mom had a glass rolling pin that she filled with cold water. It worked like a charm. And it's so easy to just break the egg in half, pour the yolk from one side to the other until the white is all drained, easy peasy. The knife looks interesting, I have Dupuytrens stricture and losing the ability to close my hands so might come in handy, thanks.
I've been struggling with tendonitis and carpal tunnel in my wrist recently and that knife might work really well to help relieve the strain in my wrist
"To remove the cork FROM THE HOLDER turn anti-clockwise". Not to remove it from the bottle, to remove it from the corkscrew after you've got it out of the bottle.
6:19 it does not matter it is how you put it in the egg seperator the first one you hit the plastic edge and therefor cut it open the second one you where more careful when laying it in therefor it did not crack. my mother never puts them in the fridge and only old eggs separate like the first egg you did there and only 1 or 2 out of a pack of 32.
@18:15 - I don't do wine, but it seems like it'd be a lot LESS work to get the cork off the corkscrew with that thing than trying to do it by gripping the cork with your finger while you unscrew...
There are SO many gadgets for getting the yolk out, but i don't really understand any of them. If you crack an egg, just pass the contents between the 2 halves to get the yolk. You only need to pass it like 3 times on average to get the yolk completely separated
As an american who has never done eggs on the counter (and instead keeps them in the fridge at all times), I've also *never* had eggs that outright went bad that it wasn't a case of losing the eggs in the back of the fridge for two months
Corkscrew... Hold tight on bottle neck... screw until cork is removed from bottle while holding it tight around neck... remove corkscrew entirely from bottle... Now spin anti-clockwise to remove the cork from the holder... It's a good thing you're pretty...
As someone who will have an accident if theres a chance to. Those can openers are a nightmare. It's a lot easier to cut yourself on the sharp top. Then the inner lip from the more traditional can opener where you can tuck the cut top in after.
I wonder how the egg separator works on fresh-from-the-chicken eggs, seems we're getting one a day here from a neighbour's free-roaming chook cos it likes a spot by our back door... :P
omg 😲 love kitchen gadgets..but even better the happy giggles you gave me . the excitement when they worked .. your presentation Brilliant ..Ange from Australia love ya and subscribed hehe
From the way the egg number one and egg number two flowed I think the first box are older than the second box. When eggs are fresh the white is thick, holds together and is attached to the yolk. As they age the white gets runnier and the yolk and white is weaker and doesn’t hold together as well. This is why you can’t poach old eggs as they do not hold together in the water.
I don't drink so I'm not going to lose sleep over this or anything but I'm wondering if the glass writers, or whatever they're called, would simply come off by your hand holding/rubbing against the glass.
That knife is awesome even without any type of disability. I dont know if the manufacturers have missed a trick and could sell knives of varying length as when Barry cut the bread it was just a bit too short.
Eggshell are porous and if they are left in a fridge they will go of quicker But left on the side in a box carton in a coolish area they will stay fresher longer To make sure if they are still edible put them in a bowl of water and if they float chuck them out
A good way to mimic disabilities that would mean things like the knife is helpful try getting a wrist brace. It'll hold your hand in one place as though you have a stiff wrist

Yes eggs go in the fridge, fridges have specific sections for them. I like it because it spreads less when frying them.
Washed American eggs should be stored in their original cartons. Removing them to the egg section of the fridge exposes them to odors.

I’d like to see what would happen if you touched the marker on the glass. Cause if it smudges, it can become fairly pointless quickly.
I have those ice balls, they're super handy for a small freezer!
I have a separate wine cutter at home - Oo how middle class of me 😂
In Switzerland and France, there no small thing to open the wines aluminum. So yeah, that cutter can be useful then! 🤣
I don't drink so I'm not going to lose sleep over this or anything but I'm wondering if the glass writers, or whatever they're called, would simply come off by your hand holding/rubbing against the glass.
Due to spinal injury Had one of those knifes for 30 years and just broke. Been looking to replace it. Thanks
Corkscrews tend to have a tiny serrated knife, I'm pretty sure it is intended for cutting the foil wrap! Atleast that's what I use it for 😅
Barry... pls. I am literally screaming as I'm watching you use the wine gadget!
I've got a rolling pin that you put cold water in. It was my Grandmother's and she'd got it in the 50s. Nothing new under the sun 😂
That knife is awesome even without any type of disability. I dont know if the manufacturers have missed a trick and could sell knives of varying length as when Barry cut the bread it was just a bit too short.
They do other knives. They definitely do a bread knife.
@@cazzioc Awesome
"I feel we can touch this."
Pie bottom: NOPE! *bites Barry* 😂
After my wrist was fused, using some knives is painful. Can definitely see the appeal of the disabled knife
That's one way to butcher Danish :D had me crack up
Eggshell are porous and if they are left in a fridge they will go of quicker
But left on the side in a box carton in a coolish area they will stay fresher longer
To make sure if they are still edible put them in a bowl of water and if they float chuck them out
A good way to mimic disabilities that would mean things like the knife is helpful try getting a wrist brace. It'll hold your hand in one place as though you have a stiff wrist
