Love this series mate! Thanks For this 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Just to let you know, Shein uses forced Uyghur labor in China. Their mistreatment of Uyghurs have been well documented, I'd recommend you do a bit of research into it.
I'm not blaming you or anything, as I understand this was a mistake. I'd recommend you do a bit more research into Shein before supporting them any further, as I understand this is your first time shopping from them.
Just trying to let you know.
(Edited to change my tone, didn't mean to come off as snarky.)
@@ScottMonieryou don’t have to be snarky about it. You could educate him in a less tool-like manner.
Not to put any negativity into this but maybe just leave this video as a one off as the company is very 😬
Oh right, so they are like Temu then? I just had a lot of requests to do it, apologies but didn't think this was the same, appreciate the heads up@@ScottMonier
I can't believe Barshens might be coming back. I just recently commented how much I missed it, so this announcement is amazing. I would definitely buy one of the Barshens shirts if you ever put them up for sale 😊
Just yesterday I was checking out what Eli and Paul had gotten up to! +1 on a barshens shirt
Eli Roll, Eli Roll!

I dont trust the plastic on the peguin egg thing, even if it doesnt melt it probably leeches alot of chemicals.
But then you peel the egg. Hmm... Hard to decide if it's worth it.
@@deliriouscheeto Egg shells are porous.
Especially cheap Chinese product. They have little quality control and they don’t care about leaching poisonous chemicals into water.
The grabby thing is good for getting plates and bowls out of the microwave if you have dexterity difficulties! No burnies, no dropping, and no slippery tea towel needed.
I'm very happy to hear Barshens might make a return.
I just randomly happened to rewatch several of the old videos earlier this week and had forgotten just how much fun they were.
Hopefully the goal is met and it comes back.
Absolutely, I miss Barshens.🎉
yesss! very excited for the possible return (if very temporary). had to reply because i accidentally misread the return in your comment as rectum and it felt very barshensesque
The chicken roaster; I “make” my own. I use a Bundt pan. I fill the pan with cut up veg, put the tube up the bum and sit on a baking tray. The juices drip on the veggies while they roast and it’s so delicious!
Does any juices run down the center hole? Do you block the hole with something or set the Bundt pan on another pan to catch the rogue juices?
Because this sounds amazing.
Some do, that's why I put it in a baking dish or on a baking sheet. @@Nirrrina
The studio looked so nice! That's really came along and i can't wait to see videos in it! It looked beautiful!
Also as Barry didn't mention it, which not to be that person, but some things to keep in mind with sites like Shein are: Yes everything is way cheaper, but this bit Barry did mention it comes at a cost of quality, but not only that, it's not really clear how ethical a lot of it is from getting the materials, to making the products, to sending them, to workers pay/conditions. But also the other thing to keep in mind is, as Barry demonstrated, places like Shein typically are stealing ideas/products, including from small independent businesses, TH-camrs, the list goes on. So while these can be much cheaper, it's also taking income from someone who could need it and who actually created the product. Personally i don't touch sites like these due to all those grey areas, but yeah, if you do use them it is always something to keep in mind!
hey cheers, yeah i'm not trying to promote them, but I had tonnes of requests and was hoping they'd be worse than they were, but I agree with what you've said
@@mrbarrylewis oh no you're fine Barry! I hope this didn't come across as a negative comment about you, that was not my intention so I am sorry for that! It honestly was just in case others want to use it, in case they don't know to be aware of these things :) Even then I hold no judgement for people who do! I've been homeless and had to ration out my food while counting pennies, needs must and sometimes sites like this are a great/only option for people! It honestly really was just to make people aware who may not know, like that hassle you went through on Amazon with someone stealing your meal prep kit!
@@kierancampireit’s all good 👍
@@mrbarrylewis You have a popular channel. By making a video about them you are promoting them.
Testing showed that a lot of Shein clothing contained high amounts of lead and other toxic chemicals, so I'm doubtful any of this could really be considered food safe when used long term. I'm sure once off is fine though!
Oh wow, thanks for the heads up
Mmmmm, chemicals *homer Simpson voice* 😂
That honey dispenser is actually quite cool.. if the honey starts to solidify slightly- one could fill a drop or warm water in the holder to keep it at the perfect drizzle. Great video, that chicken made me want a sandwich with apple sauce, gravey and stuffing
Actually I’ve seen glass honey dispensers at breakfast restaurants that work wonderfully. They’re like $12 US so well worth the difference
I have something like the chicken thing from a thrift store. But mine has a small cone thing you place in the center and fill with aromatics. It worked great
The studio kitchen looks awesome Barry!! Can't wait to see the fully finished product.
I need those chopstick helpers! My fingers dislocate so easily, so normal chopsticks are impossible to use. These would mean I could use shop chop sticks and not have to bring my own, like I normally do!
That's great to know
the spam slicer would be perfect for spam musubi
also - the bowl/plate handles are for hot plates and would be good for parkinsons patients
Every time you work with raw corn, I want to tell you that you are to either blanch or cook it first. I never cut raw corn off the cob and then cook it. You loose the cream from inside the kernnel and it can dry out. It is also easier to cut when it is cooked. I have been freezing corn for the winter for 55 years now and never cut corn raw. I love your videos. I have been watching you since before your girls were born. I love the different things you get up to. Thank you for all your hard work and for taking us along on the journey.
The plate gripper/anti scald gadgets are especially useful if you want to steam a plate of food on a serving plate. That's definitely something done with some Chinese dishes. You arrange the food before steaming so it looks nice and then cook it on a rack arrangement in a wok with a lid.
Oh Barry!!! Mentioning Barshens has made my year!!! 🖤🖤🖤
What a beautiful studio kitchen dude! 😊
Thanks, it has taken SO LONG, but it is gonna be SO WORTH IT
And the lighting seemed just fine too @@mrbarrylewis
I'm going to back the Turn Back movie just so that we get more Barshens!! Very exciting, would be great to that come back!
Love the honey one. Take the honey out of a container thats designed to dispense it and put it into a container thats designed to dispense it !
It would make sense if you have huge containers of honey... Like my mother 😂😅
BARSHENS YESS Ive been watching the woefully few videos on repeat as sleep material for 3 years
Your gadget series is amazing barry! You have showed so many useful ones🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Insomnia has blessed me with another Barry Gadget Test!!! Yay 😁😁😁
If you have any idea of how these items are made, you may get an idea of why they’re so cheap. I love you Barry, it’s so disappointing when influencers such as yourself glamourise companies such as these.
Spot on! Also the fact many have had money taken out of their account by this company. I’m surprised Barry hadn’t done his research first!
Does Boston have a dog bed in the studio? He’s got to be comfy when in the background of the new videos
I gotta get him his own little section!
@@mrbarrylewisget him a raised bed with stairs so he can be seen easier 😂 maybe replace the plant in the corner.
Well I know I always love to see Boston.
Idk if you’ll see this comment but I agree with others that Shein is a very questionable company (Temu is also shady). I still had fun watching, but you may not want to turn this into a regular series with Shein.
Oh no I won't, although Temu will not leave me alone!
The honey dispenser would probably work well for syrups of all kinds, the kind of thing you pour more than squeeze from a bottle.
Metallic toenails! I’m dying 😂🤣😂
I love how the picture from shein for the honey dispenser says high quality glass but it shows up plastic lol obviously there is an original and they've yet again knocked off another design.
spam slicer, I have a similar one for making spam Musubi
Great idea
Those offset tongs for bowls are *fantstic* for making a double boiler with a mixing bowl over a pot! Thank me later.
I have that exact honey dispenser in my Kitchen, except mine is all glass/metal, while yours appears to be all plastic. Use mine every day, love it. The plug is unnecessary, it's only for refilling.
Barry, you are correct about the grippy handle thing being used for a grill tray, my oven is a Neff one, first installed in 1988 when my dad moved in (it was a brand new property and I can't believe they installed such a premium brand oven back then! plus fridge, hob and dishwasher! everything is still original) and we still have the grippy handle thing somewhere lol.
Loved the video, thanks! My experience with Temu (similar to Shien) was that the gadgets worked fine to begin with, but broke or stopped functioning after minimal use. You get what you pay for! (Also -internet rumours that your personal data from Temu/Shien etc is collected by Chinese government for neferious use!)
14:45 "High quality glass dispenser"
14:54 'cheap plasticy sounds'
Yup, just what I'd expect from Shein. Also, why would you need this if you're already buying honey in a squeezy bottle?
charge your phone mate! was getting anxius about the battery level 😂😂
Always living on the yellow battery edge lol
The grip handles are great. The “scissor” one would be fantastic for pulling out hot things from the microwave since it’s such a small area to grab. I need one 😂
They're sold for precisely that reason on websites that sell aids and adaptations for disabled people, at a premium of course.
Those chicken roasters are fantastic for cooking a whole chicken in a gas bbq.
I have not been having the best month for the past month. Seeing you always put a smile on my face.😊 Thank you so much for your videos Barry! Cheers!
Kinda surprised Shein is still around given how many people exposed how scummy it is and how the quality from there is so bad lol. But I guess Wish is still a thing too.
That's the point of websites like that. It's cheap garbage, but the cheapness is why people want to buy from it. As long as you don't buy anything important from them then they're fine.
@RoachDoggJR4200 I mean.....I wouldn't call their human rights violation treatment of workers or the fact that their clothing and nail glitters have proven to be toxic "fine", but....I guess besides that?
@@Izzy-cp8ytwell… no one’s perfect I suppose
I mean Temu is probably just as bad
@@Izzy-cp8yt I assume that anything no-name is toxic (no matter which of these marketplaces it's being sold on). Like even the metal chicken stand I would assume has lead or some toxic coating. Plastics I'm even more worried about. And things like powders and liquids are an absolute no for me.
Reminds me of quality of that green bean slicer from a while ago 😂😂 I was cringing at how close you got your fingers to the blades 😁
oh yeah!
Loving the studio kitchen!!! I adore the clapperboard too behind you!
I love you little studio space and I'm so glad it has good internet and you can see all the hard work and love you put into it I'm looking forward to future videos that you make there.
You could use that turquoise handle for hot bowls/plates in the microwave rather than scolding your hands!
My first thought with the chicken stand "borracho pollo" aka drunk chicken LOL
I miss you’re videos where they were tutorials on budget meals eg the student meals. I’d like to see you try some harder dishes too! I love to cook but get nervous of complicated meals xx
The clamping gadget would be fantastic for carrying hot bowls out of the microwave! That's honestly the hardest/hottest part 😂
Alot of my friends use those for getting food and containers out of air fryers Barry 😊
I’d be careful with shein. There was a special on CBC about chemicals and such.
It will be amazing if you brought back Barshens! Really enjoyed your videos on there 😃
Another amazing video! Love watching these types of videos ❤
Cheers
Glad to see your still doing this. I look up to you. You are like the best dad in the world.
You should do a cheap vs steep kitchen gadget haul.
I cannot begin to express how much I want barshens to come back!!
Waking up at 3 a.m. and watching a new Barry is SUPERB!!!!!!! I ESPECIALLY like his enthusiasm on finding out that things WORK!!!!!!!! I do so enjoy his being so genuine!!!!!!! THAT is a RARE thing in these social media days!!!!!!! Being GENUINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💖💖💖💖👍👍🥰🥰🦃🦃🎃🎃🎃🎃🦃🦃🍂🍂😘😘🥰🥰👍👍💖💖
I have super sensitive skin and have always struggled with hot water and of course picking up hot bowls from the microwave. Those two holders could be absolutely amazing for me!!
Hi Barry I love watching your gadget videos. I’m guessing the penguin egg holder would be more popular in the USA where their eggs have white shells.
We have both colors!
@@StevenJBenI’m guessing you are in the USA spelling of colours? In the UK I’ve never seen white eggs.
Great video. One thing about the corn peeler is also how tough and durable it is.
Nice to see the new studio. Apart from lighting, there's also a bit too much reverb there.
Far more durable than your hand if you got caught in it!
@@mydogeatspuke No sh*t Sherlock.
@@ArnoldScheepers wind yer neck in, you miserable git
Hey there, I’m sorry but the chicken cooker had me in fits of laughter, especially when you placed the chicken on top. Must be my dirty mind
I need more Barshens 🧍♂️
OK!
The honey dispenser, I love. I have that exact one but mine is all glass.
I have the Spam Slicer, and for those that can't Cut Straight to save their souls.its a fun and great kitchen tool.
I use the grabbers to remove hot dishes from my air fryer and slow cooker. I don't have any strength in my hands and these are so helpful i don't know what I would do without them.
The studio kitchen looks amazing Barry!
Good to be back watching your videos. Been off from TH-cam for so long ! Love a good gadget review video !!
The plate gripper is great to get bowls/cake pans out of the airfryer
That’s how I learned to boil eggs, too; put in cold water, bring to a boil, cover, turn off and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
The studio kitchen looks great!
''Honey dispenser - high quality glass dispenser''. Proceeds to be plastic😂
Of all the items he did, I want the SPAM slicer the most. Also Barshens!!!
Those gadgets were awesome! Love your new studio!! It's looking amazing 😍 Many blessings ❤
My grandma had a honey dispenser like that but out of glass...and she had a tong to pull the stone out of cherrys, worked great.
Excited for the new studio and barshens!!
Eggwin van de Sar!? I'm Dutch and laughed way to hard at that joke xD
we’ve a chicken roaster like that for over 20 years now 🙈
Amazing, really thought it was gonna fall over but it held strong and it was genuinely super tender later on for dinner!
The bowl clip that attaches to the side of the bowl, I have one of those. It is brilliant for latching on to the side of my very hot Hot Pot.
Cool 'Toy Story' shirt! I bought the proper 'Egguins' for my daughter.
That TH-cam kitchien is looking AWESOME, Barry! :D
12:20
*Reads the recycling informations on packaging written in Italian*
"Must be to carry things"
Lmao
Such a fun video as always🎉 That one for dates was great!😊
The chopsticks holder thing I bought a couple years ago for my chopsticks from Amazon
The SPAM slicer is great for making SPAM Musubi!
I was unreasonably excited to finally see the barn in action
Love the eye chart mate!
Gonna sell it I think
@@mrbarrylewis Nice little "If you know, you know" nod, great idea.
I’m with u Barry I put my eggs in the pan then let it boil and then leave on the hob for enough time to hard boil as that’s the way I was taught how to boil them
I want the hot plate gripper. And maybe the spam slicer. Never had trouble slicing spam, just don't like the slippery texture of it. I just quite like spam with beans and potatoes for a lazy dinner.
Yay new studio! It looks great Barry!
The stood-up chicken is giving me flashbacks to the Sledgehammer music video.
That luncheon meat slicer is [Best Salesman 1997] approved. You're sure to be a [BIG SHOT] with that gadget.
The honey dispenser looks like a throwing item from a Soulslike. Or a grenade that a bee cop would throw when trying to apprehend a mammalian suspect.
And as for that date-pitter, it looks like something you'd use to shoot up Plasmids.
Reallly, SPAM made you gag..? I get that some people don't like it, but honestly it just smells of ham. It's not like it's radioactive or made with fermented diseased pork.
Seriously, I never could get why SO many people hate on Spam, and the crazy thing is most of people who hate on it probably have never tried it. It's not horrible really. It just tastes like spiced ham, obviously it's not going to be good as regular ham but what do you expect for something coming out of a can?
Did ya know in other parts of the world, Spam is actually considered a luxury gift? Particularly in Korea and China IIRC. Also, IMO the best way to try spam isn't just straight out of the can, but fried up next to some eggs and some fried potatoes/hash browns, or my favorite on a fried egg sandwich! Also Spam Musubi's are just plain f'n awesome no two ways about it!
I loved the honey dispenser 🍯 & Thanks Barry 🤗
Hip Hip HORRAY for the new kitchen!!!! So Happy for you Mr. Lewis!
The clamp would be great for taking hot bowls/containers out of microwaves.
Barry that bowl clamper is perfect for microwaved bowls of food
Is that kitchen in the studio from Howdens? Looking at something very similar for a new kitchen myself
It looks like a beer/soda can will still fit between the racks on the chicken ash tray for moisture. And you need to bake the SPAM with whole cloves and a glaze made with OJ, honey, brown mustard and brown sugar. Bake it at 350 degrees F for 30 /45 minutes basting it every 5 min or so. I use about 9 cloves. 2oz OJ, 2oz honey, 1 tablespoon Brown sugar, and a small squeeze of brown mustard. If you don't want to use OJ, You can use orange soda or what ever you want, even water.
Love these testing videos!
Such fun!!!
BARshens!!!!
I cook my eggs the same way. Find when put eggs in then boil . Then let cool in pan, find not get the green/gray line around yolks.
the spam cutter is useful for Asian dishes - I know a few Japanese recipes that focus on spam 😄
