This was my second catch on 7-13-17. It was a loaded BNSF coal train with two BNSF ES44ACs pulling and an NS SD70ACe and NS ES44AC on the DPU. While the lash-up wasn't all that interesting, it did at least have a friendly crew!
Went back out to this crossing on 7-13-17 after seeing NS 201, as I was curious as to if there were any changes to the crossing. Turns out that the grade has finally been paved, so I bet that the crossing will open soon! It also appears that NS removed the whistle posts around the crossing, probably as they weren't necessary until the crossing is opened.

Awesome catch! Interesting to see an unopened crossing in action. Good news about this location is that you don't have much traffic to deal with.

The gates were pretty fast for an American crossing.

Nice hornshow! Please tell me this crossing won't be quiet zoned.

Thanks! I highly doubt it (it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, right now, and will be surrounded by industry later) but I personally won't mind if it gets a quiet zone. They probably removed the whistle posts for the moment though to keep the trains from blowing their horn unnecessarily.
