I live in Australia and can't believe what I am seeing, I just can't get my head around it. I am so sorry for all your heartbreak. It will take years for you all to recover and for some, there will be no recovery. I am an 82 year old lady and the tears are pouring down my face, seeing all the devastation. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all.

I'm right there with ya, sister. Cryin and prayin, cryin and prayin. 🙏🙏🙏 no need closing in "Amen" In these last days....more like "brb", Lord. The bible tells us He saves our tears in a bottle and pray ceaselessly. Thank you for adding your prayers with ours here in SC. Jesus is my hope and rest.

You can cry and pray. That is going to help for sure. Don't forget USA is destroying the planet with climate change, they will pay very little price for that. Wait... Australia ?? CO2 emissions are far worse in Australia... So you did it too, May be you can do something usefull ? Don't cry and calculate your own carbon footprint and get a plan to cut it by 5. Better than praying.

My 71 year old sister who is a widow lives in Swannanoa way up high on Buckeye cove.Every time I would travel from SC to visit her I would ask her “ why in the world do you want to live way up here on this mountain?” She’s safe and sound with hardly any property damage through all this and now I’m so glad she lives way up that mountain. I’ll never bitch about driving up her steep driveway again!

The last part of the video shows that even if a home was not touched by the raging water, the infrastructures that support that home are gone. These videos you have made tell the stories of/for so many. I think about the sound the raging water must have made & then the silence while we watch the devastation of so many communities. So sorry that this has happened.
When I return I'm afraid I won't recognize it. My family is on Old Fort Road. They said they're ok. From pictures, seems the flood didn't make it to my grandparent's grave up above Ingles warehouse, but my cousin works there. Don't know how long he will be out if his job.
I'm just relieved that my family is ok, but crushed ( still) at all the stories I'm hearing and stuff I'm seeing…

I’m a native resident of WNC born in 1999. I did drove out through Swannanoa to Black Mountain a couple weeks ago and I was devastated and heartbroken to see my hometown and the memories from my childhood and young adulthood gone. My sister lives in Black Mountain and when I saw her again in person she was emotionally glad that I lived this Hurricane. My sister, her boyfriend, and her children survived the storm but were impacted with everything. Lake Tomahawk park was my favorite place to go fishing since when I was a kid and Sadly those memories are all gone. I was not expecting this Tropical Storm to be a lot worst than I predicted.

    The Devastation of Hurricane Helene.
The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has led to the loss of many lives, showcasing the unpredictable power of nature. The hurricane severely impacted six East Coast states, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and so on..
I was watching the news and saw the terrible destruction in Boone and Asheville, NC. It's heartbreaking, especially since it happened just two weeks after I left Charlotte, NC, on September 16. I had actually driven through the path of the hurricane’s destruction during September 2020, four years ago.
May God bring healing to all those suffering from the losses caused by Hurricane Helene.

It would be nice to see the military in there. But the a large number of Tennessee National Guard were just sent to Kuwait, I believe 9/30/24. Apparently this area has substantial underground minerals and such, so just how fast will FEMA respond. This destruction is devastating and the loss of life is being underreported. Prayers that those that survived the storm can get the help they need to survive and start over, along with the emotional & spiritual support to deals with this horrific trauma. Prayers to the first responders, this is not something anyone wants to see and smell. May those that have passed be in the hands of God. Thank you for showing what is happening, be safe, God Bless.
