Bro, Good video but you did this the HARD way. Next time just remove the air box and pull the fuse box to the side. Now just use a box wrench to crack the long bolt going through the middle of the transmission mount. Now, you can remove the aluminum mount and transmission mount together. R and R the mount and reinstall both pieces. Tighten the long bolt and replace the air and fuse box and you’re done.

I am trying to solve my vibration/grinding noise from stand still acceleration and up hill throttle application. as I have read in one of the CRV forums it has stated that the fix can be very simple which is LOWER TRANSMISSION MOUNTS FRONT/REAR (I am planning to tackle this job myself as I have access to ground floor jack stands and jack) I am in Australia and have a 2006 AUTO CRV just wondering what is this person referring to when they say "Lower Transmission mounts FRONT/REAR? your video is awesome and reply is much appreciated thanks!
Hey Chris. So if it's the same model as Australia which I think it is. What they are referring to is the Mount that I show in the video which is the one that is held in by two bolts on the transmission and one bolt that goes through the middle of it. The other amount that they're talking about is in the back of the transmission that is in the same position except on the back that bolts up to the rear subframe. That one is much bigger and bulkier. It is the one that is closest to the firewall. It is not the one that is on the frame rail closer to the battery. So in short the front and rear lower mounts for your transmission sometimes called engine mounts bolt up to the front and rear of the subframe. The front one is closest to the radiator and the rear one is closest to the firewall or bulkhead. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out and good luck my mate.

The mount that is on the transmission the square looking one I had a look on my CRV and it appeared to be slightly torn could this be the cause for the awful noises on acceleration and up Hill? Also I want to buy the mounts and install them myself to hopefully fix the issue any recommendations of full replacement mount kits or possibly just the mounts I have just referred to from my forum reference? In regards to a weird grumbling the mount can definitely cause that. What I do in the video is tested by putting it in gear and then accelerating a little bit either in Reverse or in drive and that will generally make the same noise as you have when driving. That is a good indicator that you have a bad mount. Generally it is the mount on the frame rail that causes the Grumble into the passenger compartment more so than the front and rear mount on the transmission but they're usually busted and should be replaced because they cause the mount on the frame rail to fail prematurely. In terms of mounts the best thing to do would be to look locally what people are purchasing and have had good experiences with. Suppliers change from country to Country and I don't want to give you the wrong one. In North America there is Westar and anchor. Both are generally made in China and quality is hit or miss so make sure that you inspect the part before putting it in and line up the bolt holes before trying to bolt it up to make sure that the part is of quality and not crap. You can really drive yourself insane trying to make them fit sometimes. Hopefully if you get a good part it should be a breeze. Good luck my friend any questions just reach out.
Quick question where would I buy decent aftermarket parts for all mounts for both the transmission and engine? I definitely don’t wana go back in there and do this job again hahaha
To be honest most of the aftermarket Mount companies are not so great. If you're looking to not do this job again for a really long time I would recommend going with the original Honda mounts. The only other possible decent solutions would be a performance Mount however they can be a bit harsh. I would definitely look up the reviews if you go the performance route to make sure you're getting a good product.

I mean if I used genuine ones I feel like they would be solid hold the transmission better in place under load.
Hi Chris, if the grinding and noise stopped all together when you replaced it and now is back it's most likely that you have a bad part or the part was unfortunately poorly made. I have seen mounts that are really poorly made and feel relatively soon. Try to stick to the brand names or the original equipment. That generally tends to take care of those types of issues. Also when you install the mount just make sure that there is no pressure when threading in the bolts and that there is no pressure when you are setting the mount in place. A little bit of pressure is okay but if you try to set them out by pulling the bolts up it can damage it. Hopefully that makes sense.
