Absolutely addicted to this channel. Love your work. Very diligent, very professional. It never ceases to amaze me how people let their bikes get into such a state!
Love seeing how the parts you don’t see looking brand new and shiny, like the free hub. You can feel the satisfaction and pride that goes into the work. Very enjoyable watch
Love my ultrasonic cleaner! I volunteer for an organization that takes in donated bikes and refurbish them. The bikes go to different charities within the city. I have a larger cleaner where I can submerge all my parts at the same time…great timesaver! Keep up the good work on the videos!
I like watching you work on these bikes because you're so meticulous. I too am very meticulous in bike maintenance. I am always cleaning and inspecting my bikes, some would say I'm a bit obsessive about it 😂 but I like to be sure all is well. After all my safety and enjoyment are at stake! I know not everyone is a mechanic and some people just want to ride but I struggle with how neglected these bikes are. It is so satisfying to see you clean them up and make them right!
Another amazing transformation. Watched a few of your videos and am amazed that people let their bikes get in such a state. At least you're being paid to clean components, all good business. I'd definitely recommend your company to service a bike, so thorough. Nice work
Great service, strip down, rebuild (that was some sweaty handlebar with those white deposits). Great job, bike will ride like new. Bearing in mind date of vid and my comment today ( 1 year on) you should be seeing it again soon (if not already done so). Always a pleasure and learning experience with your vids. Good stuff lads ! 👏👏👏
We buy these in bulk so they’re not actually available but will soon be listing them in sets of 2 on our upcoming website just over a month from now so stay tuned till then and thanks for all the support in the mean time!🧡⚙️
Another amazing video such a fantastic restoration well in depth, like your opinion on these liquid brakes now available on cheaper maintain bikes allso these electronic derailleur look amazing whts your thoughts 😀
Couldn't help but notice that the front break is connected to the right shifter? Is this an English thing? Cheers from Belgium, love your channel and content!
Yes, left and right hand drive the same as cars. People look at me blankly when I tell them that but it’s true. In the U.K. we are front brake right shifter in Europe you are the other way round! Mad isn’t it!
Can you tell me where that plastic parts washing tub you’re scrubbing your parts with as they come out of the ultrasonic is from? I love that! Need to get an ultrasonic parts cleaner too..thanks for the video. Great work!
Hi, I love your video's! I'm a bike mechanic to and have my own shop where I work on every bike that comes in from elektric to race I want to believe I'm not to expencive as I see what you do is similar as what I do for my customers. What would a job like this cost for your customer and what is the time spent on this job? Thanks for the video's btw I still learn alot bye watching them.
Hi Kevin, price really is relative to where you are, your taxes, overheads and such play a big role in how you price yourself, our prices work for us but they’re not the standard of what everyone should charge, hope that helps
I've just been given a 2014 Btwin Alur 700 in ratty condition. It was left outside chained up for four years. I'm replacing a lot of standard parts but cannot find the frame cable guides. Any suggestions?
my drivetrain looks like this after a couple weeks of rainy commuting lol. regular turpentine spray and steam blasting does the trick but the amount of black gunk that I collect on the regular is disgusting.
its because we've become a throw - away society. There was a time of make do and mend. Its pitiful. I'm currently working on an old Raleigh that was destined for the scrap heap , albeit slowly as I'm a novice, but I want the pride and satisfaction of giving an old bike another chance. Plus I feel it's important to preserve our cycling heritage
It seems to me that when you work on an old bike, you say, " This is still good, these bearings are good, no need to replace this chain." On the newer bikes, it's a case of," This chain is worn out, these bearings are shot, this part needs to be replaced. The quality is not there anymore and has been sacrificed for lighter parts for more speed. I know I don't need to ride fast.
With new bikes becoming faster and faster it’s mostly about tolerances going down. Old bikes carry a lot of slack, room for wear. So when they do wear it doesn’t noticeably decrease the performance of the bike. But newer bikes are so tight and so quiet, something worn sticks out like a sore thumb🧡
I was quite disappointed to hear you say you would not service the bearings on the pedals. Those pedals rotate just as many times as all the other parts on the bicycle. They may be different to service but they are not more difficult to service. You should have done the bearings on the pedals too..

I would classify this as a complete overhaul- the owner must have been very happy. Great work as always.
Thanks again for enjoying the videos!🧡
One of the best services and beautiful bikes you’ve had on. Well done!
Thanks very much Laurie glad you’re enjoying all the content 🧡⚙️
I love seeing the transformation of a bike but I hate seeing bikes like that! Glad you take the time to do it for the customer many shops would not

Brilliant service excellent video 🚴🏼♂️🚵♂️
Thanks for all the support on the videos this week🧡
Great work. Added another 10-15 years to that bike. 😍
Thanks for watching ! 🧡

It is so exciting to see a full carbon bike overhaul. I really find your work satisfactory, keep up the good work!
Great work!
I'm sure the owner will have been shocked at just how good that felt to ride after the service.
Thousands of happy miles to come.
:D
Definitely!
The before and afters on this one are amazing,
Such a cool bike. I've never heard of this brand. Nice work on it as usual!
Thanks again Mathew!🧡⚙️
You should add customer reaction to these videos. I’d love to see when you unveil the bike.
Suggestion: use a camera stand or stabilizer. Great channel

Enjoying from New Jersey!
You guys are awesome!
Thank you! 🧡
This bike was a mess. Great work on the rear hub, above and beyond.
This is gold, saludos from Vancouver!
Thanks for watching and commenting!🧡
God, this is so incredibly satisfying 😌
like a phoenix!
Love these videos, brilliant.
Thanks Alastair!🧡🚲
Rare to see such pride in someone’s work. A lot of LBS mechanics seem to just want to get through to 5pm and out the door.
Thanks Alex! We take pride in it👍🏼
Ive got super record twice as grimey as that, juxt keep adding oil to the chain. No clean or service in years and its never missed a beat, lol.
Great video
Glad you’ve been enjoying the videos!🧡
Iovely job
Thank you!🧡⚙️
Brilliant channel and so addictive to watch the transformation. Where are you based?
Suffolk, England!🧡⚙️
Always amazed that people will let their bikes get that dirty and worn and wonder what finally prompts them to get it refurbished.
Great restore of a well-used bike. What brand of super slick cables do you use please?

Wow, amazing work.
Two questions:
1: what cable cutters and crumpets do you use.
2: what is the bronze coloured grease you are using
1. These are Parktool
2. Copper grease
I love the way the Brits speak English . *I would have took that out" and *we was". Is that correct?
Always keep my chain clean...cheaper to clean a chain than replace everything a dirty one destroys.
Absolutely!🧡

@@Bikespeeds that's fascinating...... never knew that !

We just use buckets or washing up bowls brought from the household shops!
Good vids.
Do you put anything on chainwheel bolt threads?
copper grease
As someone who service pretty cheap bikes that are not well maintained, this is a pretty normal dirty bike

Great service! At least GBP150 for all that?
Big chain ring looks worn. New chain will drop on Power
What was the size of the head set bearings as I need some like that
I’m sorry Leslie, we filmed this some months ago, I really can’t remember now.
What ratio of degreaser to water do you guys use on the ultrasonic bath? You guys work some magic on those bikes!
We use a water soluble degreaser so it’s net in the ultrasonic cleaner & then washed straight off with water once the items are removed

Cable guide or thumb adjusters to go in the guides on the frame?
Was this an actual carbon frame?: I thought I saw corrosion on the forks which didn't add up?
my drivetrain looks like this after a couple weeks of rainy commuting lol. regular turpentine spray and steam blasting does the trick but the amount of black gunk that I collect on the regular is disgusting.
Hi how many litres is your ultra sonic cleaning tank
The one we use on camera is 6litres!
Expensive ok but how much ? for something like this
Do you check the dropout alignment?
We always look and if we think it might be a little off we put an aligner on it and check!
@@Bikespeeds Also, why havent you sprayed that stuck barrel adjuster with wd40 to unsieze it? Because the frame was carbon?
Love to know the before and after weight?
What country do u live sir?
England! 🇬🇧
Servicing should also include cleaning of bolts in stem and handle bar as well as cleaning and polishing of sti shifters.
Can’t believe what poor care people take of their bikes
How can you get your bike that gunky?
Born to ride!
@@Bikespeeds Got it. Here a new subscriber. Keep it up!!
There is actually something wrong in the head of someone who would let a bike to get into that condition.
Still to this day I Don't understand why people can't look after things.

Good channel ruined by too many ads.
Noticed you don’t wear gloves to protect your hands. Is this because you loose a sense of feel while you service and check for wear?
They’re more of a hindrance than a help we find🧡

But why on Earth someone uses a grease on bike chain? It’s not concrete mixer with tooth drive. The whole drivetrain is ruined and destroyed for sure.
How do people let their bikes get to this point in the first place? I care too much about my bikes to let them get like this.
You wrapped those bars incorrectly in my opinion. You should always wrap away from the palms not towards.
