People who watch this channel obviously don't have the destroy sh*t gene. I watch because I like to see things restored and treated properly. I personally find it abhorrent to not take care of something l worked hard to buy. You've laid out a rich buffet of comment potential and then tell us not to say anything! I am so conflicted😂

I ride this model of Propel and can say, even with good dry climate, and regular maintenance, guiding the cables through the frame is a pain in the butt. Good on you for treating the Propel properly, it's a solid and fast frame but needs a lot of love and patience.

Just a tip with the carbon fiber bikes spraying the degreaser directly into the frame depending on what is in it can be a very bad thing as if its strong enough it will eat through the glue/epoxy holding all the different layers together, Great restoration!

Im just a fan of ur "grease, light oil, heavy oil, anti seize, locktite" usage.u truely understand where and why to apply those stuff..some mechanics nowadays just take it for granted, just make the bike look bling, but put wrong stuff on wrong area with unnecessary amount which can cause even more damage to the frame (which unreplaceable) in long terms..chapeau sir for ur brilliant job and the narration..ur vids not just entertaining, but more important-educative.thanks from japan❤

I have hydrolic disc and I truly believe they are Fashion over Function. I have never had a bike that didn't have much more brake ability than I needed and that includes the kids bikes I had in the early 70's. Rim brakes are like a tension wrench and disc are a stubby one. I live in Australia, no snow, but the brakes on this thing would be SO POWERFUL and gotta be lighter and less problems etc.

@@Bikespeeds My mechanic installed a plastic sleeve over the cable that goes about 4 inches into the top tube. This fixed it as well as anything but still eventually the cable gets corroded.

Gosh. We should all watch this and make a note to self about regular maintenance and servicing. Some of the points of failure would have been dangerous and a video like this necessary for us all. I have my bike stripped back annually and take off and clean the chain and cassette every couple of weeks. You get used to it.

All the gear, no idea? The owner may not have tried anything else they prefer, and there are still diehard toeclip fans out there.. Perhaps they were added in order to assist with a post-service test ride? 😂
Looks like it’s owned by someone who just doesn’t care that much - to risk losing an entire drivetrain for the sake of a new chain because they obviously couldn’t be bothered… 😕 I have a hunch it’s an afterthought of a bike, perhaps being given just a basic service ready for sale?
If the owner intends on using it themselves again then after the additional expense they must’ve incurred I’d like to think it would be a lesson learned but, if not, at least it’ll mean more servicing and repair work in due course for Lee and co., and more videos for us 😊
