- Richard Hammond reviews the 2001 Daihatsu YRV 4Trak, to see if there is any performance and handling advantage from it's 4 wheel drive, as well as seeing how practical and comfortable it is to drive.

When Hammond is standing next to this car, it suddenly doesn't seem that small.
I really like these YRV's. They even came with the most powerful 1.3 engine in the world at the time, with 130BHP from a turbo.
What about Storia RS Euro k3ve2 ?.. are these more better then yrv ?
I bought a 2003 basic model for my teenage daughter in 2019 for less than the price of 4 tyres to a Tesla Model 3. Very low milage (96000 km) and cheap to run. She loves it. As Hammond says: "It will probably be very reliable" - that is so true. No issues so far. The milages today says 125.000 km. Only repair was a set of new brake discs in front. I have noticed a little corrosion on the driverhand side next to the frontdoor - an easy fix at home.
🤣🤣 as I run to buy mine
Well the car featured was still being used until last year MOT expired on
27 February 2020😃 it got to 87000 miles
Someone know what s the wheel's brand?
Why this channel used to make two reviews on the same vehicle?
Looking for 4 outdoor handles for Daihatsu YRV 2001 Japan where can I get it to buy. This is the best car it drives smooth.
Türkiye'de mevcut 🇹🇷🤝
It looks strange but good
better than a euro car tha ts breaking down constantly,, these have the k3vet engine, all u need lowering, exhaust, intake, there a blast and reliable japanese car
Most recommend for engine swap in malaysia
What about Storia RS Euro k3ve2 ?.. are these more better then yrv ?
buxton!
".......too clever ........" sounds like an expensive , brain scratcher if this get out of sink & need the techs to get the " machinery " on to it .
Hardly. It's a basic car with not very advanced electronics. Maybe in 2001, this was a clever car, but by today's standards, it's about as technical as a ham sandwich.

Yeah. But Suzuki still uses that kind of visco-4wd in the current (3rd gen) swift 4x4. It's quite effective on slippery grounds like snow, rain, mud, rubble or grass. I know, I have a '99 Justy (which is a 1rst gen Swift with 4wd).
Hamster is a little bit paranoia! The car is very niec for that time! Look at Fiesta in 2000....that idiot rat it has no perspective!
So what did I learn from this review, only one thing his ego is bigger than the car.
