This worked on my older ps4 controller that I even ordered a fresh new one because of R3 button is not functioning. New one arrived today, I connected to USB and it works perfectly but when i try to pair it wirelessly, it just gives me a baby blue light but it does not let me navigate through the xbmc or play/access anything. Not sure what to do...
Also it was thanks to this video that i anaged to pair 2 controllers on ps3. The new just doenst wanna work wireleslly ( its an official sony controller V2 )
Is there a way to play The Orange Box with a Dualshock 4 or Dualsense? Whenever I start the game up I just get a message saying that I need to use a Six-Axis controller.
Not sure. they have tilt so thats strange it wouldn't be compatible and other games used sixaxis (Uncharted used it for grenades etc), so it must be some specific code in the game? Like I cant use generic PS3 controllers on the Ps3's backwards compatibility for PS2 games - it somehow knows and HAS to be an actual Dualshock 3 when you put a PS2 disc in. Weird but if its coded to sense for it I dont know how you can get around it. Anyone else out there know?
@@squidracerX Well damn. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I ended up buying an adapter that will hopefully bypass the issue I'm having, but we shall see. I'll try to come back here with an update when the adapter is delivered
Hmmmm... they did some PS3 updates, did some weird stuff with it, its possible they made them not compatible now? but I dont know. I wont be near my ps3 for a while to test. But it seems like it would still work?
Im definitely not an expert here. But i would say that perhaps some games are not compatible. But if NO buttons are working is the controller getting shut off between the home screen and the game launching somehow? If you have a PS3 controller it may be taking over (I think i had that happen to me but its been a while). So maybe try to shut PS3 controller off, make sure PS4 controller is on and set as the main controller? That's all i can guess -- anyone else??
@@squidracerX most probably its the game im guessing. Its Saints Row 2 and when i get on the (play screen) only the R3, Select, and Start buttons work. But thanks for the help really appreciate it.

But yeah it was this odd thing where they both jockey for "controller 1" when being used because you're on the same profile. It might work. But might be more of a pain than its worth?
You cannot, the PS4 controller's home button will be useless (as far as I could tell), you have to keep PS3 controller around for when you are all done and want to go back to XMB or power off. Or just get up and power ps3 off by hand :(

No you need the ps3 controller to be the "playstation button" for your session. Unless its been patched (I doubt it)

Not sure, i don't use any generic ones, because if you don't use official one's on the 60gb, the 3rd party one's don't work when you play ps2 games.

does not work with MGS2 and MGS3 since those games need analog face buttons and the ds4 doesnr have them

It should work with any PS3 game I'd think? All the buttons worked correctly.
