Oh I'm so glad to hear that you've gotten something out of these videos! That's why I put them together. Hopefully your process goes smoothly and without any complications. It can certainly be a ride.

Did you get back to full fitness

I am still working on things, but I am back in regular martial arts training. It is important for me to mention that my fitness had gotten pretty good until I got Covid last year; then my energy levels crashed, and a bunch of other life issues set me back. So I would be doing better if I hadn't had those obstacles.

I’m at day 11 and my IT band is absolutely killing me. It’s super tight and hurts whenever I do my exercises. Did you experience any tightness in your IT band?

I have historically not had many issues that one might attribute to IT band "tightness," but that is also due to the fact that I don't perceive this stuff the same way as others. The IT band doesn't really change length much (or at least it shouldn't), and most of the exercises and massages or "releases" people do on it are actually just affecting the muscles around it and/or the *sensation* of tightness (which isn't necessarily the same thing as actual increases in band stiffness or limitations in range of motion).
Anyway, all that being said, I didn't have issues in that area as I recall. Most of my problems were within the knee joint itself (weakness, swelling, a sense of "fullness" in the joint, etc.)
Are you making progress as you continue your exercises and noticing improvement? It's a long game, so don't get discouraged if some things seem irritating for a while.

@@JudoGeoff yea I’m still in crutches going to school but have walked short distances to the bathroom with just my brace on. I am doing the leg raises and have been able to get my leg to 90°. The only thing bothering me is the IT band pain and of course the knee pain from the surgery.

All things considered, that seems like solid progress for less than 2 weeks out. If you check my other videos, I was continuing to deal with nagging issues for months. In fact, I still am today (about a year and a half post-surgery). That is apparently slower than most, but I had some shake ups in life that slowed things down or even halted them altogether. I'm still making progress. Just keep an eye out for anything alarming, issues with reductions in function, substantial new pains, etc. and consult your doctor (not Geoff on TH-cam 😉) to get any such issues evaluated.
Also, be aware that for a while, the graft will actually be getting weaker as some tissue breakdown and resorption around the implanted ligament occur. Just slow and steady, preferably under supervision of a physical therapist if possible.
