I've read a comment on here, that these stories really helped a person who was getting clean and sober. Well, I thought that I would try it, and, it really does help. I've been clean for only 1 month, but I have to start somewhere, and, these stories DO help. Thank you so very much.
They kind of started at a similar time. Brief Case was CR's inspiration I think, and BC gave him shout outs early on with collabs. Their style is similar, and they help each other out well.
Ahh, easier times - WWI, the Spanish Influenza pandemic, the carefree rural life… Thank you BC & TCR for helping me keep things in perspective. Cheers.
I've been calling that influenza the 1918 Influenza because Spain had nothing to do with it, it was because Spain was neutral and they didn't say how many people died there,so I've been told. It started in Kansas USA when the army refused to stop 7 soldiers from leaving to fight who were sick and deemed still able to fight regardless of being sick 🤦🏻♀️
Good morning! Thank you for allowing Crime Reel for sharing this story. It’s actually pretty sad because he lost his wife so soon and his son wasn’t with him. Plus he had someone living with him who somewhat had a bad reputation. I think the worst part of it all is not finding out what happened to either gentleman and never knowing why they were killed. Regardless of one’s reputation no one has the right to take another persons life and as far as Mr. Barcley, he seemed like a really nice man. It’s funny how rumors Soulfly about a person after their death and sometimes that’s exactly what they are, rumors. We will never know exactly what happened and as his son said it’s in the past and all the parties are dead and gone. Have a wonderful week and thank you for sharing this story
Happy Brief Case Monday everyone!! Wishing all a healthy and positive week. Two of my all time fav crime guys on the same channel again! 🙏 Although I kept having to remind myself it wasn't Wednesday!! 😅
Good morning to my 2 absolute favorite channels. It's a lovely rainy morning here in Michigan USA, after 2 months of just a trace of rain, breaking all previous drought records (including the dust bowl era) for this time. I love the stories you both tell. Bygone times, where someone would notice if your 1 good suit was missing, and being so remote you must rebury a body to go notify police (assuming to protect it from predators). Thanks for all your efforts. ❤❤
How awesome - a Brief case and Crime Reel collaboration, about Australia (where I live). Thanks for this intriguing, fascinating mystery. Such a pity this crime was never solved. The photos were really interesting. It’s night here, so goodnight from Australia 🇦🇺
Also, IT WOULD BE AMAZING if you did the story of the Bath School Disaster from here in Michigan USA. It was the worst intentional bombing in the country until Oklahoma City. I worked at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing where the injured children and adults were taken, and the nurses' stories still echo in the halls.
I am already a longtime subscriber to The Crime Reel. I love the vintage crime stories. I find the lives they led hard and fascinating. My fav are between 16th to 18th centuries. Brief Case is my absolute favorite wCrime Reel right behind him. ❤🇺🇸
It would really be someone if this case was finally solved in the future but the chances of that happening are extremely remote but it was very interesting to hear about this case so thanks again for bringing it to us
I miss your signature sign-off: " Hello everyone, and thank you so much for watching! " - It's such a cheerful bookend to a typically grim story and perfectly balances your signature opening: " Today we are going to [time period], so sit back as we go to [place name] ". - I love the way you deliver both phrases, and am always looking forward to "the next Brief Case".
I started listening while prepping dinner and washing a dish or two while it cooked, and ended up cleaning the whole kitchen. I've been struggling with mundane tasks , but I was so engrossed I flew right through it. Thank you both for sharing your passion and skill with us. It improved my day and I'll try listening while I clean from now on. It was a great story as always.
Hello BC. What a brilliant idea! You and The Crime Reel are my favorite channels! If not for the two of you i wouldn't have this (close to) addiction to YT. Thank you both for all of the stories you tell! Soo much research! Soo many details! And the photography adds so much! Fascinating stories, of real people who went through so much hardship. Thank you gentlemen!!! 💖😃👍
Thank you BC and CR for letting me enjoy my Monday morning with a good murder story. Old stories show us how hard it was to eke out a living back then. A long life was an aspiration, not necessarily an assumption ❤
Good evening to both CR and BC, you did it again and brought Belle to see the vet regarding her eyes cataract, Belle doesn't need operation as it is very costly. Despite this, she's a very healthy dog!
BC. Great research and your stories from older centuries are so appreciated. You are university on the air. Learned so much through the years you’ve been broadcasting.
Both of these narrators are my absolute favorites! You guys tell interesting stories in a respectful and entertaining way. I wouldn't want to miss any of your videos!
Thank you once again for an intriguing mystery. And thank you Crime Reel for your usual excellent narration. I had just texted you when I noticed your short about 99,987 when you were sadly wondering when you'd get that magic 100,000 and decided to read a few comments. And saw the congrats on reaching your goal. Excellent. Onward and upward.🎉. Stay safe, both of you.🤗🤗
BC - I love how Crime Reel's narration sounds - it sounds like a soundproof studio! Really nice & I hope this is going to be the sound quality going forward on your channel! Well done!
Great collaboration between,Brief Case and Crime Reel and all the more interesting because it's from my country. This was a true story I'd not heard of before. I think after losing his wife, son going away he was lonely and wanted company and due to the war only older men were left behind. First bloke to apply for the job got it. These old towns and stations are so far from other people, 100's of klms from anywhere else
Love to see our dear Crime Reel here. Thanks, Brief Case! Great story, and exceptionally lovely photos. There's something about black and white photos that brings out details you wouldn't otherwise notice -- sort of makes the setting look more real.
Thank you The Crime Reel. It's a very interesting story & some of the sir names you mentioned were fascinating! I'm really not a fan of unsolved crimes though.
Thank you for suggesting and using The Crime Reel, thankfully I already subscribe to The Crime Reel and I enjoy you both. Keep on sharing such wonderful content.
I'm from and still live in Victoria, Australia. And I had not heard of this old unsolved case until now, watching this. An incredibly interesting case, Brief Case.
What an interesting story…I lived next to Hastings for 4 years in 1990…never heard of this…so thank you! Also fantastic research for old photos! Love it…
I would like to take the time to tell you what a wonderful channel this is. I am more fascinated with centuries old crime than I am with recycled modern era crime stories that are so saturated that it becomes mundane. Thank you brief case for letting my mornings start with such interesting cases from the past. God bless.
Yes! Two of my favorite crime guys as well! Thank you for giving me something to look forward to for years now, in the evenings after a sometimes tough day!
Amazing to think that the Barclay's banking/finance empire sprouted from a tiny, rural, cattle station! Great video and interesting to try to figure out if it was personal or part of another criminal act etc.
Oh, Kool N The Gang !! What an awesome way to get my Monday started ! I already very much look forward to BC every Monday. But to get a collaboration between he and CR. Another of my big time favorites is just too cool for school ! If memory serves, I believe this is the second time you two have doubled up. Add to that a really interesting story today about a part of Australia I don't believe I've ever heard about anything related to true crime unless Ned Kelly and his gang count. Either way, truly fantastic. Thank you ! You two are really likable, class acts who, in my humble opinion are as good as it gets. 👍
I absolutely live these stories . From brief case and from the crime reel. I've been a long-time listener to both shows. Thank you for all the great stories and all the hard work that goes into these content videos . ❤
Hi BC. Hi Crimey. A most interesting case indeed. Obviously, someone knew something, but never spoke about it to the authorities. Unsolved forever. Thank you for this narration.
Living as he did in almost total solitude, few correct conclusions can be drawn. However, the saying 'know thine enemy' holds good here. Good reserch and presentation. Have a good week everyone!
Yah🎉I love crime reel, love you to brief case,ur the one who sent me over to the crime reel, subscribed to you both almost four years now , I celebrated his 100,000 scribers by binge-watching him all day Sunday thx to the both of you for all your hard work😘🥰

Hi BC, Thank you so much for this opportunity to narrate today. I really enjoy working with you and I am grateful to you for this, cheers TCR
Hello CR! Wonderful partnership once again!
The Dream team back in business - great script and details BC & great narration Crimey
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers TCR 🎉🎉

Thanks Valarie, I hope all goes well for you
I've been sober since 10/21/12. I do take Suboxone for opioid addiction and pain relief. It's been so much better. Good luck with your journey.
It helps a lot. Beside the Sylvia Likens case, dont watch that
I like that Brief Case and The Crime Reel have joined in collaboration since I'm a subscriber of both great historical crime shows.
They kind of started at a similar time. Brief Case was CR's inspiration I think, and BC gave him shout outs early on with collabs. Their style is similar, and they help each other out well.
Yes. I don’t catch them often, but when I do, nobody tries to outdo the other. I really like that they are humble
Good morning, my friend. How lovely to hear Crime Reel.

Stealing, killing displacing, disrespecting the native people, yes an easier time for whom?
