If you are and you still have it feel free to write back what is going on and I will see if I can help you or give you my email address to help work through your issues. I find for 2 cycle equipment, they are very reliable, but like all gas powered and two cycles equipment they do require a bit more care than something with a battery or cord
Be careful with that none Ethonel fuel I’ve heard of a lot of people have burned there engines I’m a professional landscaper yes those little srm225 are very reliable we use the heck out of them here in my company we use 89 octane and regular echo oil
I used mine 3 or 4 months..started leaking oil stuff in muffler making a mess...took it back to home depot...blamed it on not running it full throttle.. did not fix it. Found a video wirh the same problem...now I am getting ready to put a new carburetor kit on..should have stepped up and owned up to repair during warranty...they use to be good..had one for 20 years...this time was different..echo needs to step up and be better to their customers!!

It's common with the newer srm 225 I have the 2016 srm 225 and no black oil

What gas should you use in it again instead on regular gas?
Gas has to be mixed with 2 cycle oil 10:1 ratio. Also use only non ethanol gas. Thanks for watchin!

I'm sure the ratio is 50:1 2.6 oz of 2-stroke oil to 1 gallon of gas or a little over 5 oz of oil to 2 gallons of gas.
