Honda sells a cheaper and smaller version of the Civic called "City" in quite a few countries, and it costs half a Civic. It looks like the Civic will be out of the average buyer's reach with this new update

Idk what everyone is up and arms about. It looks good and so does the Accord. It’s not as exciting as it’s Korean competitors but it looks better than the rest of the competition except the Sentra. Unlike both the Sentra and the Hyundai/Kia, this Honda might be able to do 150k without some major engine issue because Honda doesn’t put all their money into design and untested tech for marketing reasons and drain their quality control department like Hyundai did. It seems that if a car is super super sexy or interesting, it just has to be unreliable no matter who is making it which is a shame. Also the old Civic hatch looked like they hired a bunch of acne covered high school boys to design it.
I really like the interior of this car. I seems pretty simple and easy to use. Futuristic designs usually ends up looking outdated in the actual future in my opinion.
The problem with some futuristic designs is more on just modern/current interpretation of what future design might be. But what actually last is more timeless but simple design that actually ends up being more futuristic. I think this interior will remain look good and not that outdated. It has simple lines, which is more minimalistic but too minimal like Tesla does.

Had my 22 Civic Sport since august 2021. Absolutely love it. My favorite part as emphasized in the video: the simplicity in the interior. For some reason I cannot stand complex interiors with 1000 buttons. They are right, you learn how to do everything right away. Great entry level car and looks amazing for the price especially with the alloy black wheels, black mirrors, and chrome finish on the exhaust in the sports trim. Highly recommend for someone looking to get that sporty feel without breaking the budget
All I gotta say is that this is the best car for two reasons: 1) No fake vents 2) Refer to #1. Just recently got this new civic, and it is an absolute joy to ride compared to the Mazda 3 and Corolla.

I have one a touring in red and absolutely love it! I already put 1,000 miles on it and it’s such a joy to ride! I just put the HPD package on it and it looks insane! Definitely recommend buying this car!
I mean what's the point of getting an Accord over this, besides the 2.0 litre. The new civic is acutally pretty spacious, it's not really compact anymore.
@@JesusRodriguez-tm8go yea. The Accord suspension is smoother on bumps and less roll in corners if you drive spirited . Accords are quicker too....like they have racing aspirations. I've seen the 2.0 turbo accords mess with the bmw 3.28.

I wouldn't say it's boring. They just made it look more normal and used some of the design elements they used in the Accord, which is not a bad looking car at all. They had to tone the origami down a little bit

Imho, they nailed the styling on this one. Yes, it looks a lot like a mini Accord, but the proportions and lines look so much better on the scaled down version. Wish they did the Type R as a sedan. Excited to see the Si and test drive it, as well though.. Might be the car to bring me back to Honda for my daily driver.

I've spent the last week obsessing over the Honda Civic, and this video is feeding my mania. I'm not a manual transmission fanatic, but I think certain cars "need" to be stick. Small, economy cars like the Civic are on that list. I've been looking at standard Civics, the hatchback, which is strange, because I love sedans. Hearing that they are still great highway cars, and agile to navigate cities and hunt for spaces in parking lots is reassuring, as is finding them comfortable for tall people. My wife is 6'1" with long legs, so her comfort is paramount when selecting a vehicle. Your review has convinced me that the Civic is still worth serious consideration.
Love that you guys are a very decently sized TH-cam channel now and still do affordable cars.... what would be great now would be if you guys reviewed the newest Versa! I bet that'd be hilarious and I'd stay till to the end for that too!

Great video guys. Correction here; the Mazda3's 6-speed automatic gearbox isn't ancient at all. It's an update from the 1st generation Skyactiv trans and it does the job phenomenally well for an automatic. Honestly, 6 speeds is all you need in a compact with less than 200hp, it shifts really quickly under sporty driving and yet provides a surprisingly smooth transmission of power under low loads. It's hard to understand why any manufacturer would do anything different from a torque converter unit like Mazda's. ...unless it's a manual. Then yes, that would be better. Would have been cool so have seen a driving comparison between this and the Mazda. I heard the past gen Civic had the Mazda3 beat in the fun-to-drive department.
Absolute spot on video as always; sharp humour and great content! About the Civic though, I'm not so sure - the front grill seems a throwback to the early 90s and the reminder seems taken from the Accord. It's still a Civic, so I like that it doesn't pretend to be something else (the one from 2 generations ago was overdesigned to the point of being unrecognisable) but maybe a few extra shiny bits would be nice.
I have the hatchback sport touring version of this car and I love it. It grew a lot on me and I don't mind it unlike a lot of people who don't like the design but I like it.

Correction here; the Mazda3's 6-speed automatic gearbox isn't ancient at all. It's an update from the 1st generation Skyactiv trans and it does the job phenomenally well for an automatic. Honestly, 6 speeds is all you need in a compact with less than 200hp, it shifts really quickly under sporty driving and yet provides a surprisingly smooth transmission of power under low loads. It's hard to understand why any manufacturer would do anything different from a torque converter unit like Mazda's.
...unless it's a manual. Then yes, that would be better.
Would have been cool so have seen a driving comparison between this and the Mazda. I heard the past gen Civic had the Mazda3 beat in the fun-to-drive department.
All they really needed to do for the exterior was change the taillights. The front end of the 10th gen was perfect imo

About the Civic though, I'm not so sure - the front grill seems a throwback to the early 90s and the reminder seems taken from the Accord.
It's still a Civic, so I like that it doesn't pretend to be something else (the one from 2 generations ago was overdesigned to the point of being unrecognisable) but maybe a few extra shiny bits would be nice.
It looks quite aged in design to me. It’s pretty boring tbh. On the exterior. The interior is okay.
I have the hatchback sport touring version of this car and I love it. It grew a lot on me and I don't mind it unlike a lot of people who don't like the design but I like it.
I just got one myself. I think the hatchback is significantly sharper then the sedan
I love the look of the new Civic! The previous generation I wanted to like but the styling was just too awkward & fussy. Good on ya Honda 👍

They managed to blend ugly and boring together. Quite an accomplishment. Ugly yet zero character.
Really? I wonder how people would say the last generation looked overstyled and ugly, but with this, it looks boring and ugly? I would love to see you people try and design a car that would look good in their eyes. To me, this is enough. It looks great.

I prefer the last gen in term of design but it’s definitely growing on me.
