      I agree. I happen to be making my first of Suzette stitch for a 5 year old. Simpler patterns like this one that come out as beautiful and textured as more complicated patterns I find impressive. Pretty pleased with The Lord for such a beautiful gift. Thanks for lesson on herringbone hdc border!

    Thank you for a well done tutorial. I have used the Suzette stitch in a lot of baby blankets, and it just is such a nice ditch. There are no holes for the babies little fingers and toes to go through and the finished design looks really nice on both sides of the blanket. Once you get past the set up, bro, you’re good to go. It’s so easy, but looks so nice.
    I use lots of self striping yards too. I remember when they came on the market. It’s so nice not to have to buy separate games of yarn to get a wonderful design on your items that you knit or crochet. Thanks again, Sandy.

    I tried this 110 chain stitch with a 10mm hook. I thought I was making a baby blanket. This turned out to be a bed topper for a single bed. Not bad, not for a baby. So, I tried it again with 80 chain stitches, with a 5mm. Much, much better this time. I had to laugh at myself too🤣🤣🤣 thank you for the video!

    • @AmandaCrochets

    I just finished this exact same baby blanket with the same yarn for my nephew and wife's newborn baby. I can't wait to hear from them once they receive it. It's beautiful and your video instructions are so easy follow! And the suzette stitch and the herringbone border were new stitches I just learned watching and following your video! It is a beautiful blanket! Thank you for this great video!

    I have used hook sized up to a J-10 with a 3 weight yarn, with excellent results.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a bigger hook can provide a nice drape to the project.

    I’ve been doing this stitch for over 45 years and never knew the name! I thought the Suzette stitch was a loopy stitch that kind of linked into itself each consecutive row!! All this time it’s this pretty, neat, soft stitch! Thank you!

      You are so welcome! I know there can be multiple names for crochet stitches (example: moss/linen stitch) so it can be a little confusing at times. Glad you enjoy this stitch just as much as I do!

    New subbie here! I am putting together a sample swatch using a new yarn I just picked up from Walmart yesterday....Premier Puzzle in the color Acrostic (lt. blue, lt. gray, lt. green and white) ....it’s a 5 weight yarn so I just reduced my chain stitches and am using a K hook.....so far it looks great! Can’t wait to use this pattern on other yarn in my stash as it is so easy! No grand babies yet so I donate blankets! 😊. TFS! 💗💗
