You have blessed my day! Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow, and your voice is so reassuring. I'm honestly surprised that you only have 45k followers (which is a lot but comparing to the noisy flashy have-to-fill-this-space crochet TH-camrs). I hope all crocheters stumble upon your site like I did today. And I truly hope that you'll add more videos -- and a patreon or a "buy me a cup of coffee" button or whatever it is so that we can financially support you as you build this channel.
Thank you! I really like a crochet pattern that works into the spaces. I can almost work without looking because I can feel where the stitch goes. Great for crocheting while watching TV or videos!
😂thanks from a 80 year old knitter who who has just discovered crochet and is Loving It ❤!! So far this stitch is my favorite. I’m making a blanket with it and using Lion Brand Mandala Baby Cake in Narnia the colors are just outstanding. I’m about halfway through my second cake. 590 yds each and just so soft!! I never get tired of it 😊 Your words and your voice make it so easy and pleasant! I will be searching for you again and again ❤😊 Thanks
Did you start? I haven't crocheted in 45ish years, and I took it up again about 2-3 weeks ago. I just finished an adult blanket with Bernat Blanket yarn, and looking for a baby blanket for a gift. It's fun! I wish I never stopped. Yarns are so much prettier since back when we did it! Wishing you well!
Love this stitch, thank you for teaching it to me. I can't read a pattern so I love when I can see it and sometimes even write the pattern in terms I understand. I'm a visual learner so this videa really helped. I also love the color of this yarn and you've inspired me to go buy more yarn 🙂 you have a wonderful color palette on your channel.
I’m getting back to my crochet infatuation after 25 year hiatus and I love this pattern!! I’ve done several rows and now I’m working on changing colors. Trial and error but it’s a lovely blanket stitch pattern. Thank you!
Thank you for showing how to create this wonderful pattern it is definitely going to be my new one to make a scarf and a blanket for this winter season
Just started a blanket with this pattern, which intrigued me the moment I saw it. Beautiful! Works up quickly and a great way to blend in leftovers with a couple new dominant colors. Thanks for a fun new project!
I have never seen that pattern in crochet ever before and I love it! Thank you for sharing it with us. I am a new subscriber, as of today! I love your style of teaching and the lovely patterns you create. God bless you and all those you love. Have a great weekend coming!
Daisy Cottage Designs has THE best patterns. I made a baby blanket using a different pattern than the block stitch but it was simple enough for me to follow with. My cousin loved it and now I'm making another blanket for another cousins baby that was just born. I'm so excited to try out this new pattern and stitch. Thank you for making the material free on your website and having these YT tutorials to help those of us that are semi-newbie or intermediate crocheters :)
I’ ve seen this pattern lately, but don’t know how to start it, until now.. Thank you so very much for your easy and clearly lesson! I am going to make a scarf now. Thank you very much!🌹❤️🥰
I love love love this pattern. Great instruction and easy to follow. Plus, you have one of the most pleasant websites- Great logo, friendly style and lovely patterns and pics. Your email format makes for easy reading bc they are uncluttered and content is relevant. Thanks for such a fun experience.
This blanket came out so wonderful. I am making things right now just for home and this throw was beautiful. I encourage anyone who may feel lost just click the link it will bring you straight to the blog post. The free pattern is there. This is just the intro to the pattern. Thank you so much. Doing another pattern right now. 😊
Thank you for this video! I’m very new to crochet. This is the third pattern I am learning. It took me a few tries to figure it out, and then I decided to make it wider so had to take it all out. Then it took me a few more tries to get started again, but now I’ve got it and it’s coming along nicely!
I'm new to crochet (only knew how to single crochet before this) and I've learned SO much making this throw ! Your pattern and videos are great and make it so easy to learn.
I am doing the block stitch in a granny square pattern for a coat I'm making. I alternate the main colors of double crochets with a neutral color for the single crochet & chain 2 rows. It has a really neat effect. Love this tutorial!
Thank you so much for this very clear and simple instruction fir this pretty blanket! I have only made granny square blankets so far and have been so keen to try something new - I’ve found it! Thank you 😘
I’m new to crocheting and this is going to be my second blanket project that I am making. Your videos are easy to follow along with. I’m a new subscriber
Thank you for doing this tutorial. So simply beautiful. I just started a blanket with this stitch using a color changing yarn so I can skip all the silly color changes. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Fantastic!👍 I saw a blanket made with this stitch but I didn't know it was called a block stitch. I'd written down instructions on how I "thought" it was done and although not 100% correct (because I've not worked it), I was very close. In my mind I was thinking Ch3 sp instead of Ch2 sp. Everything (st count, etc.) clicked 💡 after you did the 2nd group of dc3's. Thank you so much for sharing this. Now I can get started without hurting my brain with trial and error! 😄 Thanks again and have a blessed day! 🙂
This was such a great and easy tutorial to follow! You walked us through each step and did multiple rows, thank you for not fast forwarding through any step or just skipping to the end result. Easily one of the best tutorials I've ever watched. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
Hello: I am new at crocheting blankets this would be my first however I cannot read crochet patterns but I can watch the videos and follow step by step. This blanket caught my eyes the colours are beautiful I live in Canada and I travel over to New York to purchase the yarn. Now I have begun crocheting the blanket I notice that you only give a sample of the stitch you are doing. Can you please tell me what stitch you did around the edge of the blanket. Thank you for sharing this beauty.
❤Ah, I found your Anchored Boxed Block stitch afghan. I liked it a lot, but decided to do a fptc st around the center stitch of the blocks 2 rows below instead of just anchoring it in the top of the center stitch 2 rows below. It gives it a bit of texture while anchoring it, and for me it is faster than working into the top of the stitch.
Hi Lauren, love this stitch, would like to do this on a foundation row (back bump), I am fairly new to crochet and would like to know how to add that row without messing up the original stitch count 🙏 thank you!
You can also accent this particular pattern when doing the in-between row. You can use a different color and it will actually frame the clusters that you are making. I like that because then you can actually see the box stitch a little more prominently.
I haven't been crochet very long and have only done a few blocks and a scarf that isn't finished.😊 My neighbor ladies have started crocheting together. This is the first pattern I came upon and it is different from anything I have seen. It is lovely! I have ordered the yarn and am going to be ambitious and start with a throw size
That's wonderful that you have a couple of neighbors that you can crochet with! They will be there to help you if you need it or just be there to cheer you on. Congratulations on your new chapter of crocheting! Happy hooking!!! 🧶🧶🙂
@@maryrose6302 That's wonderful. I don't have anyone around me to chat with & crochet however I make sure to bring it up to our other house. My parents are only 15 minutes away. She loves the projects I do & then will make one also...❤️🧶
Love this pattern and your video tutorials are easy to follow and understand. I am going to try using this pattern for a wheelchair lap blanket for the residents at the nursing home near me! Can you recommend the size for this project please? Thank you very much!
This pattern is beautiful!!! I've started it for a wedding gift for my granddaughter. I'm confused as to how to figure how many rows of each color.... I've started with the white and my size starts with 136 chains. Hopefully, you'll see this and advise. Thank you.
This is a nice stitch, but not fond of teh big holes in the first row. Would starting with a row of sc help hide those as they do more after the first row?
I absolutely love this pattern, I've just ordered yarn to start it but I'm swapping the white for green! When you change colours, is it after completing your last row of single crochets or double crochets?
I have a question. When you turn work do you turn under or over? Hope I’m making my question clear. I just subscribed thank you for making it easy to follow. I ask the question because sometimes I turn over and sometimes I turn under. I think it makes a difference on how the edge looks.
Made this for my daughter using Caron Chunky Cakes yarn. Looks amazing! But when I tried it with Red Heart yarn it looks very different... I'm learning which brands I favor over others
I would like to use the pattern of color changes that you show in the pictures for this block stitch afghan. Can I buy that from you? Thank you very much!!!
I understand the chain one then turn when you are starting the sc row, I don't understand why you don't chain 2 when starting a dc row. Is it a more uniform finished edge?
