A full flyer eldar list is stupid. One of my buddies went out and spent a bunch on eldar flyers to build an alaitoc army. However he forgot boots on the ground rule and I would never target his flyers just the few paltry units of infantry he had and after I wiped them out on the first or second turn he would automatically lose because all he had left was flyers on the table. "I like Protoss, so I play Tau" I think Eldar is more like Protoss. They have the magic, using dead warriors in war machines, more close combat-oriented. Feels like Eldar-Protoss thematic is stronger than Protoss-Tau. Lore of Protoss-Eldar is also kind of similar (Old civilization dying out, Good and Evil versions, the outcast-faction who just wants everyone to focus on the real threat) Maybe it's just the standard colours that make the Protoss-Tau resemblance strong.. That said I really hope you enjoy your armies!
When you think about it, the Protoss-Tau resemblance is not that far off, the Protoss and the Tau have their own Ideologies that they follow. Protoss following the Khala while the Tau follow the greater good. Any protoss/tau that do not follow their ideologies are shunned from their people and branded as heretics. The Nerazim-Farsight Encale resemblance is also not that far off since both of them despise the ideology followed by the rest of their civilization and their are viewed as traitors by their rest people for not following it. Maybe protoss is a weird mix between tau and eldar since it does resemble both races in some ways
@@crownguard2445 when youre throwing tropes into the soup to make a scifi race, there are a number of fairly popular ones. The Eldar and Protoss share a large number of those tropes. The only thing shared with the Tau is the overarching ideology, which are entirely different things, as the Tau are Feudalist/fascist (They get called communist because people have very poor understanding of political ideology, combined with the actual similarities between communism and fascism, people see the lack of tyranny and assume communism, except its clearly a Feudal or fascist when you know where to look) Where as the Protoss are moreso a theocracy, with the castes serving moreso as census data with the heirarchy being shared between castes while not placing once caste sovereign over others except within specific functionaries of The Khala as a whole. In reality, except for their use of Klingon Heirarchy, the Protoss are actually closest to the Orks

"I like Protoss, so I play Tau"
I think Eldar is more like Protoss. They have the magic, using dead warriors in war machines, more close combat-oriented. Feels like Eldar-Protoss thematic is stronger than Protoss-Tau. Lore of Protoss-Eldar is also kind of similar (Old civilization dying out, Good and Evil versions, the outcast-faction who just wants everyone to focus on the real threat)
Maybe it's just the standard colours that make the Protoss-Tau resemblance strong..
Maybe protoss is a weird mix between tau and eldar since it does resemble both races in some ways
the protos were based on the Eldar
