Dota 2 Purge plays Faceless Void

- Faceless Void is one of the hardest carries in the game because of his ultimate, which gives him the ability to hard disable the entire enemy team, if it's well placed and well timed.
Void has been getting a couple of buffs recently because the hero is a lot worse in lane than many other carries, so his chrono now produces 2x damage bashes which means his kill potential at 6 is much higher if you get a bit lucky. To make that stronger, attack speed items are much more powerful now than straight damage items, and this midas treads Mask of Madness build is the best for early game solo kill potential. It affects your farm a bit, but that's why you pick up midas(to compensate and give attack speed).

Dude I'm QUITE sure Purge indeed does know that he as a Faceless Void can move inside Rubick's chrono, the problem is that Rubick can disable his allies with it.
Tide deserve a commend, this guy have done a great job in ths matchup. They solo mid vs a storm and gank more than the storm, did more than the storm.
Purge it's better to send the courier back to your base from the secret shop to deposit the item in the stash and then grab it at the enemy base. It's safer and takes less time.

You get insanely good regen from lifesteal early game, Purge, when you said that very line you regenned 100 HP from a catapult. One of the reasons you don't skip MoM on him is how much it contributes to his staying power. He can go farm immediately after a heavy fight and heal in the process.
Purge, the reason why I will always love you more than the other streamers is because you share my appreciation for Faceless Void. Why doesn't he get picked anymore though? He went from King Carry to arguably one of the worst heroes in the game.

best time for a faceless video for me, I just had my second ever faceless void game in over 2 years, just coz i am 99% a dedicated or semi support player, partly coz i suck at carrying(morphling obsession), good stuff!!
try to avoid ultra hard carries (like morph and sylla) where you have to afk farm for awhile, heroes like alchemist,gyro and luna which can fight early AND are really strong all stages of the game are really fun to play imo//

in my opinion, it is actually extremely funny to have been inactive for 40 minutes then suddenly jump at your enemies from the bushes getting the easiest triple of your life... but that's just me :P
TheGamesforreal I guess its highly dependent on your team composition as well, having a really good tempo controller (puck/NS) and or push heavy heroes buys time for your Core to get farmed.
Your supports must synergize with your game plan as well. A CM/Visage/Bat combo has to make stuff happen early. (What Navi and Liquid REALLY excels in doing)
Whereas a Bane/Naga + 1 is more of a reactive/Counter intitiating combination and just has to survive the inital stages, keep a decent amount of towers alive and to reach your mid late game to fight.
That being said, teams like Na'Vi and VG are never afraid to go agressive early with their carries, seeing in how they would port in heroes to get a numbers advantage and convert into an objective is a good way to make a passive carry useful/
Ultimately, just play to whatever makes you happy xD

ive been doing midas, MoM, and shadowblade, normally into a crystalis. Gives you a ton of early game potential to gank and snowball into late game. seems to work out pretty well, and really fun with elder titan on your team, try it 0ut purge
I thought he was one of the hardest carries because of backtrack not chrono? plenty of heroes have disables but they aren't hard carries. enigma can black hole the entire other team but that doesn't make him a hard carry.

I also agree with Purge's opinion of TB or Soul Keeper's item on SnY. Usually, when I play TB I go for yasha first into SnY then disassemble it into Skadi and Manta. Still can't believe Dota 2 didn't implement one of this oldest heroes in Dota. TB is such a strong carry, too.

Purge I hope you realize because of the wording on chrono when Rubik takes it you can still walk around in it and do actions like you placed it, the wording was faceless void not the caster

Hi Purge, love your vids! I think you are a very good teacher. I have a question: Why did you buy the recipe for Midas BEFORE the gloves of haste? I don't get it.
I can't speak for Purge but it's a common route to Midas because if you buy gloves of haste first you are delaying your first Midas use. Once you get the money for a complete Midas you need to courier the recipe to your hero if you get gloves first. Whereas if you buy recipe first and courier that to you, you can buy the gloves of haste at the side shop and complete a Midas at exactly the time you have the money, as opposed to waiting for the courier. Timing is very important when going Midas.

I love Faceless Void, but my item build is different. I usually don't go MoM at all, but aim for Maelström, Butterfly, Buriza (possibly AC, if noone else on my team is getting it). With those items, you should be winning the game.

Hey Purge, you should totally host a 1v1 mid tournament on your stream, kind of like Fistful of Tangos. I'd sure as hell like to try my luck solo miding against other skilled players, dunno about anyone else ^^
i once gone up against a void, i used the halber'ds disarm on him right before he chrono'd
he panicked so hard after activating his mask and just looked at me and my team.
we won the match because they always opted for kills rather than defending.

Purge It doesn't matter what time you play us Australian won't play on US servers because of the 300+ ping we get.
i did something similar recently where i had the chance to get a midas in my lane around the 9 min mark and then i just went straight into the jungle. you pretty much just have to not die in the laning stage while getting good last hits.

I played a game of slark a few days ago and got mask of madness. I wrecked so hard and at one point had 33 stacks of his passive. Do you think this is a good build on slark because his ult basically makes him invincible so the the extra damage doesn't really get applied? If you could maybe post a slark video with this build, that would be great! your the best!

Hey Purge, do you use some camera tricks? Idk but your camera is way more zoomed out than mine.
What is your resolution? His resolution is 1920x1080 I think, and if you have a smaller screen, your camera will be more zoomed in(you will see less).

Just wondering, but how do you get that surrender pop up when the enemy team calls "GG". I noticed this in pro games too, but I've never seen it. Is it only on certain modes or with full parties or something?

Purge, when you were trying to buy Daedelus, you could have just right clicked the full item and it would have gone into your stash, then when courier brought Demon Edge, you'd have gotten the full item
Courier started at the secret shop. From there he bought the Demon's Edge. At that point he tried to get the recipe from their shop, but the courier was just out of range.
If he had gotten the courier in range it would have been faster to do it the way he tried, just a small mis-micro... while he was getting jumped on.
When he bought the crystalys, if he had bought the daedelus instead, then the recipe would have gone to his inventory, then when the courier came, he'd have gotten the item, and more than likely not have died.
But since it was a sub game, I suppose it didn't matter as much.

this is just a thought. but after getting a certain item, it should update the character icon thats on the dota 2 dashboard as well, not only the animated thumbnail like thing.

i always include battlefury on my faceless void items build, trap enemy heroes with your ult. then hit it, if you're lucky you can get a RAMPAGE, at least double kills
i remember once i was fighting a tanky char in chrono, and i ended up wiping the team due to the cleave battle fury gives, didnt even hit them once
This, Battlefury is probably the best for Void compared to other heroes that are suitable for Battlefury, Crono some dudes, activate MoM, and cleave them.

Mjollnir is for electric/lightning-type heroes, like Zeus, Razor and Storm Spirit.

Question for Purge.. More often than not, you left click - drag over the creeps you're about to last hit. Why do you do this? I've watched quite a few of your videos and you've always done this.

a couple times you said that you have to be careful cause rubick might steal your chronosphere. But if rubick were to steal it, it would still act as yours.
"No matter the source, every Chronosphere affects Faceless Void the same. Even if cast by enemy (ex. Rubick) Chronosphere won't affect Faceless Void and will provide him with double the damage coming from Time Lock occurring." -Dota 2 wiki
Rubick can lock Void's team down, like he did in this fight, by chronosphereing on top of the other guys.

Станислав Максимов Armlet's degen isn't damage, it's HP removal. He can't backtrack that.
Its not good for Void to get an Armlet. The degen is too much for Void who doesn't have alot of HP and he gets no damage from the active either. Its good if you can Armlet toggle your way through fighting the enemy Carry 1 on 1 who's somewhat more farmed than you are but its still just not worth it.

How to take part in your sub game?
Could anyone tell me if getting a maelstrom as opposed to a MoM on Void is viable build (the rest pretty much the same as purge's build Midas->Treads->Maelstrom->Daedalus->Mjollnir->Butterfly), as Maelstrom gives attack speed and a minor Aoe to compensate for the Battlefury?
No because mjol will stack over mael so nothing will happen.

i think MoM is actually core on void because of chrono one the few heros were MoM is actually a necessity MoM plus mjollnir could be good with MoM since the more AS would proc more lighting but the problem with your build is it lacks regen which MoM isnt the best but still better then nothing. you dont really need an item to boost your farm if your going midas imo i like purges build but i would start stacking agility after midas/MoM like manta/casual yasha if the game isnt going that well or butterfly (like purge) if your stomping because void is an agility carry more agility=more dmg this is just what i think
Exactly, you need the movement speed if your escaping with no mana early/mid game.
Imo Maelstrom is a viable option. I really like gettin it. It also helps a bit to farm jungle camps.
LayeredHippo i don't get what you mean. Ofc you make that maelstrom into a mjol. Since you are a Carry, chances of you runnin around solo with low life and mana should be almost zero.

I actually Like MoM on void, but if the enemy team has a lot of hard disables or Nukes that are able to reach me in chrono, AND playin a lot of 5 man Dota, i usually skip it. Because of your low Hp, you are very vulnerable when get stunned or nuked. (fe. Lina combo burns about 80% of your total HP on lvl 7 if you don't get lucky with backtrack)

why does he deny freindly creep if there are no ennemy hero nearby ?
1: Continuous practice.
2: Keeps the lane pushed towards your tower, which makes laning safer.
