She has always been beautiful with a dope soul. With all that she’s gone through she’s still standing. She also has lupus and that’s a whole monster. She represents class, beauty and grace.
I didn't know about the lupus. I wonder why it wasn't mentioned here. I wonder if that has an effect on her weight gain. Even if not a direct side effect if one's body is fatigued it is hard to be active or prepare nutritional meals.
@@jerjorju her weight gain is most likely due to lupus. I have it and have went through it all. The meds they prescribe make you eat like a horse. However if she can get things under control that weight will drop. It’s not an easy task. Stress is a big no no! So she really doesn’t need this. I wish her everything wonderful.
I've just received some of the most important information about Ms. Rochon, by reading YOUR response; I'm so sorry to hear about her Lupus diagnosis. Fuqua should've "taken a page" from Pierce Brosnan! He has stood by his lovely wife thru weight fluctuations for multiple decades, and still views as her as that beautiful woman he fell in love with!
It's really tough when you're known for being a beauty in movies to only be ridiculed when your body changes when life events take over..

She was 5mths pregnant when she lost that baby. Honestly, having a miscarriage is horrible and when you’re that far a long that is an absolutely devastating lost. By that time you feel the baby moving in your body and giving you little kicks. Very resilient woman.
I agree! My mom lost her baby at 5 mos before me. I dont think she got over it. Then she waa about to lose me at 4 mos. The only reason why im here is bc they caught it at a regular check up. I think that's why both parents were overprotective of me. I come along and my son and only boy. It was like ahe took over! Then i have 5 more kids. In total, i had all the kids she lost. Thats how i feel.

Nothing happened to her...she is a mother raising her kids, and staying out of the spotlight...she gets to live a normal life, with no pressures, and starving herself.
So what if she gained weight, she is still beautiful and still talented...she was more then her looks and body...she had actual raw talent...and she was and Is a classy lady.
She will come back when she is ready.
Realistically, she'd require a significant makeover for that. Hollywood only offers overweight women of a certain age an opportunity to be the funny girl, the bitter girl or the religious girl. She's too good for that industry. She deserves to stay in her happy place.

I am so proud of Lela Rochon for deciding to stick with her children. This world is so messed up that mothers who choose to raise their children are looked down upon. It seems to me that Lela's weight gain was due to some kind of medical condition & we as women know how that can be after we bear children. Hormones could've had a lot to do with it as well & sometimes exercise is not enough. Hats off to Lela for taking the stance to raise her daughters in this mean, cruel world. At 9:12, the narrator explains that Lela was noticeably heavier, understandable after 20 years and 2 children. Nicole Murphy had 5 children, yet remained slim. I wish that people could understand that age, and pregnancy & recovery, affects women’s metabolism in very individual ways. Lela had mentioned the issue with stress and its role in her miscarriage. Stress has a major component in the body holding onto unwanted pounds, too. I wish her well in her health journey, as she continues to carry herself with dignity.

It's sad to hear her weight gain after having two children was unjustly used by her ex husband their children father who knew she lost their first child due to her working far too much during her pregnancy is extremely lame but she has moved with her life of motherhood which has brought her true love and joy.

You do realize Lela has Lupus and the steroid shots she’s required to take caused her weight gain. I have two cousins with Lupus and it’s no joke and wreck havoc on the body. One of them had to get on dialysis and ultimately a kidney transplant as it affected her kidneys. Both gained a considerable amount of weight.

She takes tons of meds, prednisone caused her to gain weight, but after they got her lupus under control they reduced her dosage of prednisone and she lost the weight. A few years later at age 18 she had to have a hip replacement due to necrosis of the bone...most likely caused by the meds she has to take. Her lupus flared up and she was back on high dose prednisone...gained the weight back. Over the years she's been up and down. When the pandemic hit she went into a 2 year flare up, started plasma pheresis and changed meds to benalysta. Nurse administered treatment wrong and it dang near killed her! She gained more weight. She got COVID19 and by the grace of God she didn't end up in the hospital. She recovered and started working out, cleaned up her diet and she is losing all the weight again....so yeah I know about lupus. We've been battling it since 2014. Weight is an up and down battle when you're on all kinds of crazy meds. Lupus sucks!!!
