I saw them twice when they had their short reunion. Even when they were beefing, their chemistry was amazing. You would have never guessed there was any tension or chaos. I remember what SWV said, they didn’t have to be best friends to come together and work. They go on tour, get their money, and go back to their respective family and friends.

I used to see them in Philly at the Black Lilly for $5 bucks every week. Black lily was a weekly showcase that featured female talent on Tuesday night and Questlove was one of the backers as well as Jazzyfatnastees, one of them were married to the Roots manager (RIP). For a while the roots used to be the house band. Jill Scott, jaguar Wright, Kindred and family soul, Jazzyfatnastees, Jazmine Sullivan and a rock band performed there. Jill Scott stopped performing there once she was signed and started recording. So Kindred was the best act and Floetry was the second-best set. One day they were walking by my job at 5th and market, they were arguing with each other walking down the street. I interrupted them and let them know how much I appreciate their music. They had big smiles and thanked me. They then went back to arguing. There was one song they did they perform that they never released on a record. It used to start with "I wouldn't even mind if we were friends". It was on a cd that kindred and the family soul bootlegged for the Black Lilly showcase. They were promptly told to stop selling it. I still have my copy. Natelie use to act like she was the star of the show on stage. Marsha didn't need her, and most people thought the same. J.Erving is DR Julius Erving's son FYI.

Thank you for this video! Great job with this high quality unbiased take 👍🏿 I appreciate Natalie and Marsha for giving as an opportunity to experience Floetry while it lasted ✨
At the height of "Black Lives Matter," she choose to make a huge statement on why it was All. I stopped following her after that. Haven't heard a thing about her since. I even bought her solo records. I really wanted to support both. But how can Natalie be blind sided by Marsha wanting to go solo when they were at war or not talking at all. Who would want to be in a group like that? I'm not letting anyone piggy back off of my talents while hating the air that I breathe.
Someone told me that Natalie was the messy one but...I think they were both abit toxic. But they were young and exposed to so much its hard. They are so much better together, just an absolutely beautiful combination
These girls had an awesome movement. It seemed like it was timeless. The Flow, style, and genre was everything. Dayummm I just wish the glue was stronger with these 2. FLOETRY lives on
The industry saw the long run. On who they could market the best. The one that questions things get destroyed in the media. Seen it countless times. Labeled as difficult to work with. When they thought it was about the group.
I loved me some Floetry. When they hit the radio, it was NOTHING like what was being played... And that in itself was EVERYTHING DIFFERENT, BUT SO RIGHT!!! I hate they COULDN'T get it TOGETHER, TALK ABOUT THE PROBLEMS, FIND A SOLUTION, & PUSH PASS IT. To be best friends, & now your NOT, that's a lot. It makes you question, WAS YOU REALLY BEST FRIENDS 🤔. Then that sends thoughts into one's head. I wish BOTH of them the BEST in they perspective careers that they love. ❤️
The real story was that someone got caught talking behind someones back about sleeping around too much with men while out on tour. It was heard over a nextel. You got listen to some of there old interviews.
When they did that press tour and Natalie is like we don’t respond to any negativity and then Marsha says I’ll respond to anything directly undermining what she just said shows you who was the problem .
i’ve been a a fan of marsha since the group’s inception, so this was enlightening to say the least. As a person who also was doing music with a friend, I can honestly say it was/is really hard to find balance in the relationship.
Love them both - but I think Marsha ambition as a singer/songwriter was much higher. Their creative differences caught up to them but fate takes us on crazy journeys. But they put some great music into the world - just happy I got to hear and enjoy it. ❤
You didn’t really get into the details of the break up or why. I heard it had something to do with the manager. Something you should’ve covered. Poor journalism on your part
It's wild...because you have no idea of which is telling the more factual of the issues. I pray those sistas grow & mature & are able to work thru their issues...truly sad because they are dope together
Its very up setting that Marsha doesn't have no empathy for Natalie she sneak her way to a solo ... and Natalie cannot be a sell out when they wanted Marsha so Natalie is not a sell out Marsha is the sell out.
What’s crazy is Marsha isn’t doing much. So hey. She’s on Aftermath- interscope Dr Dre’s label and they barely promoted her recent project Casablanca. ☕️🤨 So if she sold out, it didn’t work out in her favor at all. 🤷🏽♀️
Marsha is not the villain, but its going to be hard when one person in the group is just becoming the stand out. you can't ask them to put the magic back in the box.
Man,I remember being a part of their fan club. Shit used to get real in the chats. They had to shut that shit down. There were threats. It was wild. Tye Tribbett used to be in those chats before the fame. They loved their fans. We'll i know Natalie did. She even called me a couple of times. Would get backstage. Those were the days.
An Extraordinarily Unique ! Act ! But ! None of that Mattered ! In Entertainment, It is very hard to mesh personalities ! Ego's, wants, needs, visions and artistry, have torn apart so many groups and partnerships. You must maintain, respect, common courtesy and complete open communication to each other ! And Still ! You are at each others mercy !
I was so disappointed when they were here in Atlanta. I went to see them here when Amanda was with Marsha. Some of the patrons started booing them. Marsha did about 2 songs and the rest was just the DJ playing with them on the stage. It was a mess
Marsha doesn’t need nobody else to add to her Vibe, range, range!! Absolutely one of the Best!! If you never witnessed her live Concert My GOODNESS! Awesome performance 🎯👏🏽👍🏾🥰
When different personalities join together in pursuit of a dream, magic happens, when success happens to that magic, reality of the personality differences kicks in and there’s trouble,it was a short beautiful career for this duo with three albums total, that first album gave us really beautiful music,Ibought both studio albums,I wish these ladies the best

i love their music together and separately i love their music. ❤i will forever support them together and apart.
Any time Amanda Seales shows up it’s gonna be negative
They had issues from the beginning. Don't bring your hate for Amanda over here
@@SoMiscellaneousgirl is pretty but trash outward persona
That part
@@andrecoleman1856 Who are you referring to?
I was rooting for her, but it seems like yeah she’s always in a mess
I loved these ladies music back then and i still do, i love the song Butterfly they did with Michael Jackson. You can hear their signature sound
I miss floetry. They are both talented. I saw them live in Vegas and they are my airplane entertainment. So glad they made the records they did. ❤
You didn’t really get into the details of the break up or why. I heard it had something to do with the manager. Something you should’ve covered. Poor journalism on your part
There is no Floetry without both women inside of the studio and performing Live on Stage together while on tour !
It's wild...because you have no idea of which is telling the more factual of the issues.
I pray those sistas grow & mature & are able to work thru their issues...truly sad because they are dope together
I have no clue what to believe except ego played a part.
Its very up setting that Marsha doesn't have no empathy for Natalie she sneak her way to a solo ... and Natalie cannot be a sell out when they wanted Marsha so Natalie is not a sell out Marsha is the sell out.
Listen too : Floacist - Soul
Yesss I said this that song spoke the truth
What’s crazy is Marsha isn’t doing much. So hey. She’s on Aftermath- interscope Dr Dre’s label and they barely promoted her recent project Casablanca. ☕️🤨 So if she sold out, it didn’t work out in her favor at all. 🤷🏽♀️
@@prettypoodle333 true true true
My favorite group back in the day
Marsha is not the villain, but its going to be hard when one person in the group is just becoming the stand out. you can't ask them to put the magic back in the box.
Whew, this was streeetched out
My GROUP. We followed Floetry around NYC. Still love the sound. Sad they failed to stay together.
I was so disappointed when they were here in Atlanta. I went to see them here when Amanda was with Marsha. Some of the patrons started booing them. Marsha did about 2 songs and the rest was just the DJ playing with them on the stage. It was a mess
😂
Marsha doesn’t need nobody else to add to her Vibe, range, range!! Absolutely one of the Best!! If you never witnessed her live Concert My GOODNESS! Awesome performance 🎯👏🏽👍🏾🥰
That chicago reunion show at the shrine in 2015...listen the Floacist looked so fine that night my gawd!!! Outfit was banging....but Love Marsha
Yes! I remember driving to the city for that show.
Brilliant ladies and talent❤❤❤❤
Amanda Diva...my sister was her assistant during that time period. She lived in Harlem. That was a time to put it nicely 😂
Basically one wanted to do poetry and the other wanted to be a singer.
Huh? What's the 3rd album?
@ their live album ‘Floacism’
There’s Marsha’s side, Natalie’s side, and THE TRUTH
If both ladies are living in their truth
Let them cook 💯
One of the most talented female groups, they both excel as outstanding singers! ❤
Best Album Floetic, My Love goes to both Artist ❤
Say Yes was the hit.
This group was incredible!!
