I'm glad that more and more TH-camrs are pointing out Fuji's BS. I got the X-H2 back in early 2023, based on what I've seen in reviews, but figured out pretty quickly that the camera just can't keep up with moving subjects at all. Ditched it after 3 months, bought a Z8, and while I couldn't be happier with that decision, the deceptive reviews ended up costing me a lot of money.
The problem is truly that the eye box is nonsense. It doesn't mean it's truly focusing on the point highlighted. It just shows that the camera notices something that favors a face or eye. The camera still isn't actually focusing on that point. They really need to fix that.
Here's the thing. It's not just Fuji. However a lot of reviewers somehow think that just because the camera puts a box, means the camera latch focus on to it. This has been a thing for so long. Lumix cameras with Contrast AF would often detect the eye but miss the focus or take too long. It's been a pet peeve of camera reviewers for me.
@@Qimchiy yes I have Lumix and Sony cameras but I feel way more confident when the AF box is on there subject with those two that if I have my settings right it will be in focus. For my Lumix is has to be in constant AF and not just when pressing record. That it will gain focus and not just show the box. It's mode 2 . That's not the case with my Fuji unfortunately.
Nice video Philip , thanks for the shoutout , at 7:13 there's no enough contrast (my guess) in the cup , and fuji barely uses PDAF , it moslty uses CDAF, not enough contrast = camera dont care. In my tests on FW 1 especialy I do with tracking sens 0 speed 5 and it tracks me way better than +4 , and way better than any settings on fw7.
The instructions for the XH-2s camera indicate (page 148): TRACKING SENSITIVITY: The higher the value, the longer it takes the camera to refocus when you attempt to switch subjects. The lower the value, the more likely the camera is to switch focus from your subject to other objects in the focus area. SPEED TRACKING SENSITIVITY: The higher the value, the more difficulty the camera will have focusing in situations in which autofocus does not perform well, such as when the subject is highly reflective or low in contrast. As a result, the autofocus sensitivity is minimal at a value of 4. I do not know why this is so. You should ask FUJI engineers about this. At sensitivity 0 (MAXIMUM SENSITIVITY), the autofocus constantly refocuses and searches for faces where there are none.🤷♂

Right now fuji has the worst af system in the camera world. Are you sure about the sony colors ? The newest ones are very nice Alsp why cant fuji atleast match a6400' level af ( its a 2019 entry level camera lmfao )
Sony has no problems with colours. You can use picture profiles and edit them to your liking. For my photos, I use a variety of film type emulations. You can also utilise custom-baked LUTs for videos. Sony colours are extremely versatile. The only constraint is that you must be able to utilise the camera. If you don't want to modify the settings of camera, you can utilise the basic colour profiles.
@@INFOXlive well let's just politely agree to disagree. I can tell from a Sony photo it's been over sharpened and the colours are very clinical. I've been a professional photographer for awhile and I think Sony cameras have great features. Don't get me wrong but they are nowhere near Fuji or Cannon for colour science. In fact I'd prefer a Nikon for colour. I think Sony has the worst colour science out of them all and that will offend the Sony fan Boys I know but that's just what I feel and have observed

I'd put myself in the hospital if I tried to move like that. Sony AF testing is a young person's game!
I love love my Fuji cameras but I would never use them for video. I have a zve1 which destroys everything with video capabilities. Even the pocket 3 has 100% better autofocus
Some fool on FB said all my Fuji stuff has been on marketplace for a few weeks now. Xh1, 50-140, 16mm etc .... Im done.
Sounds like me 2yrs ago after the X-H2 was released. Unloaded two Fuji bodies and a dozen lenses on FB.
fuji seems horrible, I hope that you get proper firmware solution for this otherwise, they will get in trouble
They are in trouble
I have better AF on my X-T3 with 18-120 f4 О_о
I must report this video because explicit r4p3 to a fuji haha. Sony destroyed fuji 🤪
So Fuji is the old Lumix? Lol
😆 yes, pre phase detect bad
The issue
Is clearly communicating between the sensor and lens adjustment to what it's being told
Let's remember the lens focusses .....the lens
So ....i suspect it's problem with the data coming from the sensor/processor
I have emailed this to Fujifilm Australia 🇦🇺 as that's where I'm based.
We know the original firmware worked fine 🙂
Fine ...it will never be sony ...maybe it will.
But it's a signal issue
Lastly sony colours and image sharpening is sh..t lol 😆 so I'll stick with fuji
It's definitely not as bad as in photography mode on the XT5...it's definitely worse on video
Which again raises more questions 🤔
Right now fuji has the worst af system in the camera world.
Are you sure about the sony colors ? The newest ones are very nice
Alsp why cant fuji atleast match a6400' level af ( its a 2019 entry level camera lmfao )
Xh2s is the most expensive apsc camera from fujifilm, it has to be good if not the best? why have it in the market if it doest work...
@@birjub9647 did you read what I said...
I think Sony has the worst colour science out of them all and that will offend the Sony fan Boys I know but that's just what I feel and have observed
fuji autofocus is junk
