    Okay so I had never heard of oat fiber, and ordered NuNaturals after watching this. Experimenting, I followed this recipe but used about half the amount of water. I got a thick, damp dough which I rolled into about 1 tbsp balls, put them on parchment paper and in my air fryer at 200 for about 8 minutes. I took them out, cooled them and now I have 0 calorie cookies! They taste like a mix of snickerdoodles and graham crackers! Try it! Important to let them cool, otherwise they crumble if they’re still hot (like regular cookies) GAME CHANGER!! 🙌👏

    love this low-s’mores so much, thank you for it! For the chocolate one idea that you could do is just 4 tbsp cocoa powder, 1.5 tbsp water, and 1.5 tbsp coconut milk! Have you thought about making cloud bread doritos? It's literally just thin cloud bread lightly covered in a mix of cheese powder. I use Joshua Weissman's cheese powder recipe (the first one, not the one made from homemade ingredients). It's super low calorie, because it only uses a little bit of the cheese powder, and cloud bread is low cal already. These are really good for when you have doritos cravings, and work well with a low cal sandwich to give it some crunch on the side.

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Woah really? I’ve never thought about this but I wanna try it out! How does the cloud bread get crispy like chips though?

    • @chungowungo769
      @chungowungo769 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@RahulKamat It gets crispy if you spread the mixture very thin on the baking sheet. It has to be really thin, otherwise it just turns into a tough flatbread. My first tries turned out like a thin bread, which was still good with the cheese powder, but not as good as the crispy chip.

    Is Oat Fiber rlly 0 calories since in the EU there are packages that say roughly 200kcal/100g? And how much of it can I eat during a day?

    • @user-di9hn2eu6j
      @user-di9hn2eu6j 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oat fibre is an insoluble fiber, so your body can’t really digest it. Long story short, it just moves through your bowels and comes back out without being broken down. You’ll find labels that either say roughly 200cal/100g or 0cal/100g. You don’t have to count the calories coming from oat fibre :D

    hi Rahul, not to be that person, but im from the uk, and our nutritional Information comes per 100g, and has no rounding, so oat fibre is actually :
    Serving Size ‎100 Grams
    Energy (kcal) ‎193.11 kcal
    Fat ‎0.33 Grams
    of which:
    - Saturates ‎0.12 Grams
    Carbohydrate ‎0.31 Grams
    of which:
    - Sugars ‎0.31 Grams
    Fibre ‎88 Grams
    Protein ‎3.3 Grams
    Salt ‎0.033 Grams

      @RahulKamat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m pretty sure oat fiber doesn’t have that many cals. My label says 1tsp (4g) is 0 cal. You info would make this 4g=7.7 cals, which means they would round down to 5 cal on the label here in the US

    • @duaner999
      @duaner999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also find that confusing, the manako brand is the only thing I can get here and they show the same values. If oat fibers are insoluble fibers, they can't be broken down nor fermented in the guts though, so could it be that these calories shown from the label are actual calories calculated using a bomb calorimeter, even though these calories will end up in the sewers?

    Yo Rahul, I got a quick question. Is that brand of sugar free syrup supposed to be a flavor that takes time to get used to? I got some from walmart and I'm wondering if it was just a bad batch, because it tastes like my mother's hairspray smelled when I was a kid. Have you or anyone else ever said that about a sugar free syrup? Is that normal? I'm not a picky eater - I'll literally eat anything dude. I just don't complain about flavors, but this was epically bad. I'm used to a lot of different artificial sweeteners, but sorbitol is a relatively new one for me. It has aspartame too, which I like in diet sodas. I don't understand why it tasted so weird. It made me shiver and back away from the plated pancake I'd put it on. A diabetic family member was there and she didn't like it either. I can't even remember the last time I refused to eat something based on the flavor. I don't think I've done that since I was a little kid. I love your videos and I'm subscribed to your channel.

    As an European I always find it funny and confusing to see, that calories are labeled PER PORTION. In Germany that would be illegal, you can name the calories per saving, but you also have to label the nutrition per 100g. Therefore, Oat fiber has 190kcal/100g.

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      I wish the US had that nutrition label rule :(

    • @alexsiegel3061
      @alexsiegel3061 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      It´s labeled the wrong way because Europeans do not destinguish between insoluble and soluble fiber. Therefore Europeans just count 8 cal/gramm (14+2=16 devided by 2 is 8) instead of 14 (soluble) and 2 (insoluble). That´s why we find different calories in American and European food. But in the US there is the more accurate way.

    • @skye7518
      @skye7518 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In the U.S it does tell us the grams for serving too. It says how many calories per serving AND how many calories per gram/ml.

    • @Kristina-yr6xg
      @Kristina-yr6xg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Its labeled per 100g and per serving(Portion) which is 35-40g, both are labeled in Germany, but not every product has it. Ive. just checked some packages in my kitchen.

    • @popgems
      @popgems ปีที่แล้ว +9

      28g of Oat Fiber has 4 calories. If you divide 28g by 100g, you would get 3.5 servings, so 100g of Oat Fiber has 14 calories, not 190.

    I've bounced around on oat fiber in the past and as far as brands go, I've found that the whiter the oat fiber's color, the better it'll be. Cheaper brands have a color that is more beige/brown and it has a *really* harsh wooden taste that comes up really fast. I am usually not a stickler for brands or ingredient quality, but it is hands-down a night-and-day difference. A bad brand could make the difference between "huh this isn't bad at all" and "why does this taste like toothpicks"

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Woah really? I’ve found kate naturals is pretty solid, but the color is beige not white

    • @Gechmir
      @Gechmir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RahulKamat The color is the go-by I have used since picking up oat fiber from someone on an IG recipe ages ago. I may have just had bad luck though, so maybe the color isn't a 100% absolute thing? I remember trying four or five brands and color seemed to consistently line up with good/bad.
      The brand I've gone back to over time is Lifesource. Compared to, say, Anthony's, it's a huge difference.
      Take my opinion with a grain of salt, though. If coloration isn't a factor, then nevermind!

    • @stacihawkins537
      @stacihawkins537 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve tried lifesource oat fiber, but only in mugcakes, mini brownie recipes. It was ok. But I readonly using oat fiber isn’t ideal and to mix it with whatever flour you use for baking. It’s also a bit pricey at $23 for 3 pound bag. I went back to using all purpose flour in moderation and just account for the extra 40-50 calories
